There are lots of easily accessible places of interest in the surrounding areas such as Canterbury Cathedral, National Trust properties, the seaside, and several shopping towns. The nearest main town is Ashford which also houses an outlet. Excellent travel links with the motorway and rail services to London and Europe. The old town of Tenterden has a bustling high street full of various little shops of interest with a bus service from Woodchurch and steam trains running from Tenterden to Bodium. Faversham is a beautiful market town very close by. Pool House is only a 5-minute stroll to the village of Teynham and all its amenities.

The Westgate train station is 200 yards away with mainline into London and Margate. Alternatively, a quick easy taxi or bus travel into Margate, just five minutes away or any of the surrounding towns in the area. The beautiful Westgate beach is just 7 minutes’ walk and if you want to wander there are beaches in both directions, Minnis Bay, Birchington to the left and Margate to the right as you face the sea. These days, Margate fizzes with artistic energy. To traditional, holiday-town charms, add a world-class art gallery. Margate’s Old Town rejoices in a funky vibe. Here chic eateries, galleries, vintage shops and chilled-out cafés rub shoulders with traditional seaside delights: candyfloss stands; fish and chip shops; seafood stalls. The town’s Theatre Royal is the second oldest in the country, while the Tom Thumb Theatre is one of the smallest theatres in the world. August brings an explosion of colour and sound, as Margate’s vibrant, annual carnival procession snakes through the town over Margate Soul Weekend. Tenterden is a town in the borough of Ashford in Kent, England. It stands on the edge of the remnant forest the Weald, overlooking the valley of the River Rother, and it was a member of the Cinque Ports Confederation. Known as ’The Jewel of the Weald,’ Tenterden’s history has been shaped by its location. In the Middle Ages sheep grazed on rich marshland pastures and thus flourished in the 14th Century. Today, Tenterden is best known for its lovely, wide High Street lined with weatherboarded buildings, Georgian, Jacobean, and Victorian shops, and overlooked by tall, leafy trees. Many of the buildings date from the 18th century, when Tenterden enjoyed a renaissance due to a resurgence in the wool and cloth industry.

Herne Bay is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent in Southeast England. It is six miles north of Canterbury and four miles east of Whitstable and has easy, frequent public transport links to both as well as down to Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Herne Bay Pier is a favourite for many as it has a long stretch of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, a stage, and some fairground rides. This makes for a great day out and even better memories. You are quite literally spoilt for choice of beaches to visit from this property, Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Herne Bay, Whitstable, SeaSalter and a few bays in between. Alternatively, you have the historic city of Canterbury with its world-famous cathedral and city walls, its shopping precinct, and Old English high street.
Other attractions worth visiting include Howlett’s Zoo, Port Lympne Zoo, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle and Whitstable for its oysters and castle. Dover on the south coast is famously known for its white chalk cliffs and is the ferry port for crossing the English Channel to France. The Hythe and Dymchurch narrow gauge railway takes you on a scenic route to Dungeness, also worth a visit. Shopaholics will be well catered for with famous high street names and many independent retailers to tempt.

It is a former fishing, mining and garrison town whose history is closely linked to the anchorage in the Downs. Deal’s promenade overlooks a pebbly beach that offers scenic views of the English Channel and out towards the Goodwin Sands. Following an extensive refurbishment, Deal Pier (the town’s third) is a landmark not to be missed - you might recognise it as a location from ITV’s ‘Liar’, which was filmed in Deal. The view from the end of the pier, looking back at the historical buildings lining the shore, has remained unchanged for more than 100 years.

The Tractor Shed has free parking for two cars and ramp access to the front door with self-check-in. When you enter the property, you are greeted by a fabulous open plan living space with a dining area and fully equipped kitchen. This area boasts lots of natural light that floods through the bi-folding doors which lead to the patio area, where you have a lovely sitting area, barbecue and a view to the field opposite. This is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or your evening meal while taking in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. There are two large bedrooms, both featuring en-suite bathrooms with wall to ceiling tiles and decorated to a high standard. After a long day exploring the Sussex and Kent countryside, either one of these bedrooms will be a luxurious comfortable space to sleep.
This holiday home is the perfect base for keen walkers and cyclists. There is a path that runs through the farm taking you all the way to the Downs walkway, making your first walk easy to access as it starts outside the property. The area surrounding the holiday home is a hot spot for cyclist and walkers. If cycling and walking is not what you are after then take a trip to Royal Tunbridge Wells less than 10 miles away, which offers shopping, restaurants, cafés and bars.
Not far from Royal Tunbridge Wells is High Rocks, an area steeped in history dating back millions of years. Once a stone age camp, it is now a place that provides a scenic walk in a tranquil woodland setting with impressive sandstone rocks interlinked with eleven bridges. There is a pub opposite that serves food making this a great spot for a day out.
A little closer to home you will find quintessential country pubs within walking distance of the Tractor Shed. Hasting’s beach is a 30-minute drive away and Scotney Castle less than 10 miles. There is so much to do in the area you will be spoilt for choice.

Located on the border of Kent, London and Essex, Dartford is one of the most exciting and dynamic towns in the county and shopaholics will find plenty to occupy themselves at Bluewater Shopping Centre, which is within easy reach. In Dartford itself you can find many local gems, including regular markets on Thursdays and Saturdays and farmers’ markets in the third Friday of every month. Multiple London mainline stations less than an hour away and Gravesend is 15 minutes away, where you can hop on a high-speed train to London St Pancreas or Ashford International.
Dartford is also well-connected to the Medway Towns and has plenty to offer as a town with religious and cultural importance with its many charming churches and museums. Bluewater Shopping Centre, one of the largest malls in Europe, is a major attraction nearby. Catch a bus from Dartford centre to reach the Bluewater mall east of town, browse more than 300 stores, then enjoy the mall’s many attractions. Play mini golf and ride pedalos on a man-made lake at the Pirate Cove Adventure Park. Parents can take a break at the Bluewater mall’s day spam, then head back into Dartford to visit The Mick Jagger Centre, which hosts community arts performances and live music concerts. The famous Rolling Stones lead singer was born here and used to sing in the local church choir. Enjoy a day out at the 26-acre Central Park to the south and admire the colourful flowerbeds that bloom in spring and then relax by the River Darent, which runs through it. Beach 22 miles.
