Relax as the sun goes down and light up the barbecue for an enjoyable evening meal in this delightful sun trap. The hot tub with a waterfall feature overlooks the enclosed garden with a sheltered walled terrace, brick built gas barbecue, additional Weber coal barbecue (coals supplied) and a wood-fired pizza oven.
This elevated property sits high above the Stour Valley and has the benefits of being just a short drive to the historic city of Canterbury, as well as being surrounded by the picturesque Kent countryside, footpaths, cycle routes and a unique complex of lakes where day anglers can spend a happy day fishing. Just 20 minutes away you can be in Whitstable where you’ll find some wonderful award-winning beaches. Enjoy some wonderful local walks along The River Stour and stop off at the local farm shop in Chilham for some tasty treats. And don’t forget your dog! They’ll love this wonderful and pet friendly cottage.
The Coach House is in the grounds of the owners’ manor house, parts of which date back to the 15th century, and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. Fishing available nearby.

Oaklands is a luxurious and spacious holiday home set in its own acre of ground, with three beautiful bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area all on the same level. Perfect for a family or a group of friends to relax and get away from it all with plenty of opportunities to spot the neighbouring wildlife in the surrounding fields. The doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and ramps can be provided over the doorways if requested, however please note the property hasn’t been specifically set-up for wheelchair users so the kitchen and bathrooms may not be suitable The accommodation feels bright and welcoming with high beamed ceilings, underfloor heating throughout and plenty of large windows, patio doors and sliding doors seamlessly blending the living spaces with the outdoor landscape. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with plenty of wildlife, starry skies, distant views of Dartmoor and beautiful scenery that this perfect get away can offer.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with a farmhouse cooker with two ovens and an induction hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and a washing machine. After a fun-filled day exploring Devon, gather your friends and family around the large dining table for a celebratory homecooked meal and relax on the comfortable sofas and armchairs or sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.
There are three comfortably furnished bedrooms. The master has a kingsize bed, an en-suite shower room and patio doors opening out onto the beautiful decked area. The breathtaking scenery of the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor filled with hidden gems and places to explore are within a 40-minute drive. A wealth of attractions are within easy reach including Thornes Farm Shop which is 440 yards away and famous for its strawberries with a variety of pick your own with shop and restaurant. The nearest award winning pub is just over a mile away, and within a 10-minute drive you have Bickleigh Mill, Devon Railway Centre and Bickleigh Castle. This is an idyllic holiday location in a quiet part of the New Forest National Park. With open heath, wild ponies and miles of footpaths right on the doorstep making these properties - Brook Barn (ref PDDA) and Meadow Barn (ref UKC2859) a really relaxing holiday retreat. Adjacent to one another and next to the owner’s home, they have been thoughtfully renovated, offering a good feeling of space with high vaulted beamed ceilings and open plan living space. Brook Barn has a cosy wood burner and Meadow Barn is accessed through the former stable/farmyard and has a very rustic feel and a unique carved staircase, made out of local trees and with iron railings to look like the branches of the tree! The first floor galleried bedroom area, with single bed, gives the impression of sleeping in a tree house! Both properties have a ground floor double bedroom and a first floor double bedroom with a single Z-bed for additional sleeping for children. There is also a cart on-site which offers fresh vegetables (honesty box).
This is a wonderful setting for discovering the New Forest, the area is abundant in wildlife, with deer, pheasants, badgers and birds and many scenic walks. The market town of Ringwood, with several restaurants, pubs, shops and leisure centre is about 4 miles, and there is also a brewery that offers regular tours. There is so much to discover in this area and the New Forest has miles of open heathland and woodland, where cattle and ponies roam, as well as being great for cycling, walking and riding. There are numerous picturesque New Forest villages, many of which serve traditional cream teas! Rockbourne is good for fly fishing and there is coarse fishing at Fordingbridge, as well as a water park, with various water sports including windsurfing and boating.
The properties are in a convenient location with road links to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, and for a day out, why not visit Stonehenge or The Tank Museum at Bovington. They also have easy coastal connections to Christchurch Harbour and Sandbanks both within about 40-minute’s drive. Other attractions within easy reach include Beaulieu Motor Museum, Monkey World, Avon Heath Country Park, Moors Valley, and the New Forest Otter and Owl Park. Maritime Southampton and various other tourist attractions are within easy driving distance, with Ringwood just 4 miles away and sandy beaches at Poole and Bournemouth, 16 miles. Completely renovated in 2021, this beautiful detached, single-storey holiday cottage enjoys an idyllic location, with Loch Etive to the front and the River Awe directly behind. Extremely well furnished and equipped the property has direct access onto the beach. It boasts stunning views across the sea loch to the mountains beyond from some of the rooms, and lovely views over the garden from the others. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area seating eight guests. The house enjoys significant privacy with its only neighbours being seals, otters and yachts. Point Park is one of the very few properties to truly have a sea frontage, located just 5 metres from Loch Etive’s shore with direct beach access. The lovely little town of Taynuilt has a friendly community and offers a village grocery store, a post office, butchers, tea room, hairdressers, doctor’s surgery and a restaurant serving good food. There is also a train station, the line through Taynuilt runs from Glasgow to Oban so you can have a day in the city or head to the islands. Taynuilt’s golf course is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage and offers 9 holes.
The bustling Victorian town of Oban known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’ is just 20 minutes away by carand offers shops, bars, seafood restaurants, a cinema and leisure centre. Whisky lovers can visit the Oban Distillery to learn how it’s all made. Regular boat trips leave the busy harbour bound for the Inner Hebridean Islands, including Mull, Iona and the Treshnish Isles with their comical puffins.
Enjoy leisurely forest walks, horseriding, fishing, sailing, diving and golf, or for the more adventurous, Glen Nevis, one of the Highland’s most famous glens and the location of scenes from Harry Potter and Braveheart, is only a short drive and offers stunning scenery and bracing walks. Explore famous castles, historical sites and mature gardens. Visit Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain or the Inveraray Jail. The abundant wildlife includes porpoises, dolphins, basking sharks, otters, deer and a wealth of seabirds. Glencoe and Fort William are easily accessible by car and offer popular climbing, skiing and mountain biking. All in all this is an ideal base for enjoying the pleasures of the great outdoors or just savouring the spectacular scenery of the Western Highlands. Shop and pub 1 mile.

This is a great destination all year round, a marvellous choice for those who enjoy the great outdoors or simply want a relaxing holiday with peace and fresh air, but with many delights to discover in the local area.
Tranmire Cottage is beautifully furnished throughout, with an authentic country charm. Careful attention to detail means it is both very well-equipped and comfortable. It also has the most fabulous freestanding roll top bath with a rain shower over - a grand feature, and great for relaxing in after a day out.
The cottage sleeps six in three bedrooms, with up to three dogs welcome to join you; there are many delightful walks nearby you and they will love. The owners provide route suggestions as well as walking maps and books, and a guide packed with information about the area.
Throughout the ground floor there is underfloor heating, ensuring the large reception area can be used for drying as well as storing outdoor gear if necessary. The living room also has a large range with an open fire, great for cosying up in the winter months. This room bathed in light from the large sash window with window seat, which looks out into the lawned garden and secure paddock beyond, which is shared with the neighbouring owners. There is a dedicated seating area and BBQ within the garden, so that guests can make the most of sunny afternoons during their stay. You can collect eggs from the hens which are kept in a large enclosed paddock.
The quintessential country kitchen is ideal for creating home-cooked meals using these eggs or other fresh local ingredients from the many farm shops in the area. Savour time together around the dining table, planning the events for the days ahead over dinner.
Up on the first floor you have the most incredible master bedroom featuring that bath, as well as a king-size bed and a separate ensuite room with a toilet and washbasin. There is then also a double bedroom as well as a twin bedroom, both with wardrobes and drawers and served by a family bathroom which has a bath with shower over. All rooms have radiators or heated towel rails. Each bedroom is beautifully themed and named after different nearby dales: Rosedale – just to the North, the heart of the moors, Farndale – renowned for the blankets of daffodils that stretch out along the river through the spring, and Ryedale – which makes up the Vale of Pickering to the south.
Within Lastingham there is a historic church, several holy wells, and a village hall where community events, all open to visitors, are held. The Blacksmith’s Arms is extremely popular with locals and travellers alike for the quality and value of their food. Dogs are welcome in their large beer garden which has shelters and heaters, and a wood-fired pizza oven.
Lastingham is two miles from Hutton-le-Hole, creating a popular circular walk. That picturesque village has a deli/bakery, pub, teashops, craft workshops and the Ryedale Folk Museum. Nearby are the market towns of Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering - all with attractive market squares, independent shops and quaint tea rooms. Malton, Yorkshire’s Food Capital, is only half an hour away, with regular markets and festivals.
The heritage steam railway from Pickering passes through Goathland and Grosmont on its way to Whitby – all great for a stop. English Heritage properties nearby include the castles at Pickering and Helmsley, the superb Rievaulx Abbey and Wheeldale Roman Road. Castle Howard, Eden Camp, the National Centre for Birds of Prey, and the National Trust’s Nunnington Hall are also popular attractions within easy reach.
Less than an hour away you have the incredible Yorkshire Coastline to discover, with picturesque villages and towns, golden sandy beaches and hidden coves to explore. Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough all make for a fabulous day out during your stay. Those travelling from further afield may also want to take the opportunity to visit York.

East Lodge is a luxurious, historic, and characterful holiday home in the Highlands of Scotland. The wider flora and fauna surrounding East Lodge is spectacular. Within only a short walk from the lodge you will see red deer and numerous birds, including iconic Highland birds of prey. The flowers, shrubs, and trees beyond Scatwell’s grove and up Strathconon are varied and mature adding weight to why this glen is possibly the most beautiful in Scotland.
East Lodge itself is a Category C Listed Building (Historic Scotland) and as soon as you lay eyes on the property upon arrival you can’t help noticing historic features. Entering East Lodge through the main arched doorway, you then step into a spacious inner hallway. On the left you have the living room with stunning bay window, characterful stone hearth framing the wood burning stove and a luxurious Chesterfield sofa. Also off the inner hallway is a study and the fantastic open plan kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is well-equipped and perfect for those that like to bake and cook. Off the kitchen to the rear of East Lodge is a lobby and boot room with access to the garden as well as a cloakroom/utility. On the first floor of East Lodge there are three characterful bedrooms two kings and a twin. All three bedrooms are different and enjoy woodland and rural views. Also on the first floor is the spacious bathroom with walk-in shower.
Outside of East Lodge the owners have landscaped the large garden; the lawn has been seeded and will be looking its best later in 2022. However, the garden is still a lovely place to be as you’re surrounded by mature Scatwell trees from around the globe. You can sit up on the patio at the top of the garden by the fire pit and feel at ease in this beautiful place.
From East Lodge we urge you to get out and explore this amazing part of the world. Up the glen there are many walks to enjoy and there’s fantastic fly fishing for trout and salmon only a short walk away. Beyond Strathconon there are some of the best golf courses in the world waiting to be played on, including Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart; and the NC500 awaits only a short drive away from East Lodge to transport you to some of the best sights in Europe, including Applecross, the Isle of Skye and the utterly incredible Assynt. Inverness and mighty Loch Ness are only a short drive away as well. Beach 25 miles.

Aonach Cottage offers complete tranquillity in a truly peaceful setting. Only 3 miles from sea lochs and the amenities of Glencoe village, the cottage has all the comforts and flexibility of home, among the spectacular and dramatic mountain scenery of Glencoe. It sits below some of Scotland’s highest mountains, and enjoys panoramic mountain views, including a stunning view of the Aonach Eagach Ridge and towards Bidean Nam Bian. There are numerous walks from the door, including to the Corbett Meall Lighiche and the lesser-known Munro, Sgor na h-Ulaidh. The views from the windows are just stunning. With no light pollution, you can enjoy star gazing across the dark night sky. From the front door you can wander further up the peaceful glen alongside a mountain burn and enjoy beautiful scenery and a feeling of being in the hills, even if you are not a hill walker.
Sharing a completely enclosed deer-fenced area of the mountain with its sister cottage Bidean Cottage (UK41933) and the owners’ farmhouse, Aonach Cottage is accessed by a 1-mile hard surfaced farm road off the main route through Glencoe. Glencoe is a lovely highland village with many amenities including a mini-market, café, hotel, pub, filling station, church and dentists and there are some fabulous restaurants, cafés, and pubs nearby, all serving good, local food. The nearby village of Ballachulish has a small supermarket, doctor’s surgery, tourist information with coffee shop and a bar/restaurant. Steeped in history, Glencoe is surrounded by the most breath-taking scenery of mountains and lochs and the area offers a large range of sports and outdoor activities, including winter sports, hill walking, climbing, mountaineering, fishing and water sports, mountain biking and golfing. The town of Fort William is 18 miles or 30 minutes’ drive, from the cottages and offers shopping and a wealth of activities. Oban, known as the ’Gateway to the Isles’, is only 36 miles away. Glencoe Mountain Resort, with skiing, mountain biking and other activities is a 20-minute drive through the glen.

This is a charming cottage, set in the pretty and tranquil hamlet of Caerfachell where you can enjoy peace and quiet. Traditional cottages are clustered around a small village green and the cottage backs on to a historic Calvinist chapel. Originally occupied by the coachman from the nearby Manor House, Trewellwell Cottage has been recently lovingly refurbished and equipped for all your holiday needs. Cosy and warm, the open plan living/dining room faces south to the front of the cottage with dual aspect windows making it light, sunny and airy. The wood burner, wooden floors and beamed ceiling all add to its charm.
Enjoy preparing meals in the extremely well-equipped and fully fitted kitchen. A selection of herbs, oils etc. are provided, as well as laundry powder and dishwasher tabs. When the weather allows, eat al fresco in the private, sunny garden. The garden is fully enclosed and level, ideal for young children and dogs. An outside tap for washing off wetsuits and a rotary washing line are provided. On the first floor are three pretty cottage bedrooms, with blue pastel decor and painted wood to invite rest and relaxation. There is also one en-suite bathroom and a separate modern shower room.
Warm and welcoming all year round, Trewellwell Cottage, provides an ideal base from which to explore - a walker’s paradise and pets are welcome too. There are wonderful walks from the door across heathland and the Pembrokeshire coast path is within 2 miles. Maps and local information about the area (including local dog walks and dog-friendly beaches) are provided for guests’ use in the cottage – as well as a selection of books, games, DVDs and CDs.
Solva, a small, quaint village with picturesque cottages and sandy harbour is a very short drive (2 miles) – with galleries, craft and gift shops, pubs and good restaurants. There is a local tearoom serving excellent homemade cakes and locally caught crab sandwiches. There is an excellent village shop and post office & off licence, which sells groceries, papers, and angling supplies. The village stores will deliver groceries on request. Buy your crabbing equipment here and try your hand at crabbing off the quayside at Solva Harbour.
St David’s, with its famous cathedral, Bishop’s Palace, galleries, craft shops and galleries, specialist shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants is also a short drive (3 miles), with outstanding Whitesands and Caerfai sandy beaches easily accessible.
