This delightful cottage offers a comfortable and homely ambiance for your holiday with public transport and country walkways in to Wells just 2 miles away as well as good accessibility to Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Clarks Village Outlet and wider Somerset tourist attractions.
As you step into Chestnut Cottage, head upstairs to the first floor, where a large open plan living space awaits. The living area boasts large floor-to-ceiling windows that bathe the room in natural light and provide picturesque views of the lawned garden, allowing you to relax and unwind while immersing yourself in the tranquil surroundings. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with modern amenities, making it a joy for any culinary enthusiast to prepare delicious meals. The first floor also features two inviting bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and another with twin beds, providing ample space for families or small groups of friends. A well-appointed family bathroom completes the first floor’s accommodation, offering all the necessary comforts. On the ground floor, a handy toilet ensures extra convenience during your stay. Guests also have sole use of field adjacent to property which includes a picnic bench, an excellent space for children to play freely or for guests to unwind with a book, picnic or BBQ. The village of Coxley has a playing field and children’s play area, accessed via footpath close to property for added activity for younger guests.
As you venture into Wells, you’ll find a delightful array of activities and attractions to explore. Visit the iconic Wells Cathedral, a stunning masterpiece of Gothic architecture with intricate carvings and an awe-inspiring interior. The Grade II* listed stable conversion (PFFH) is part of the only longhouse in Wiltshire and dating back to the 13th century, is the oldest house in the village. Beautifully refurbished to offer all modern conveniences, yet retains charm and character. Sympathetically converted, the detached, single-storey barn (PHHF) offers light and airy, contemporary accommodation. Colerne has a good selection of shops and pubs but only a short bus journey, 7 miles, will take you into Bath and Chippenham. Within easy reach of Bristol, Bradford-on-Avon and the much-filmed villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. Great area for walking. Shop 200 yards, family pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Located in south Somerset, midway between Taunton and Ilminster, this spacious wing of the owners charming 250 year old farmhouse, offers ideal holiday accommodation. With many beautiful country walks in the area, this period property is ideal for walkers and with a livery yard next door, horse stabling is available (by arrangement). Visit Taunton, the county town of Somerset, historical houses and gardens including Montacute House, Forde Abbey, Hestercombe Gardens and Barrington Court, or take a trip to Minehead on the nostalgic West Somerset Steam Railway. Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills are well worth a visit, as well as a trip to the south to explore the Jurassic Coast between Seaton and Bridport, taking in Lyme Regis. Inland, there is Clarkes Village for some retail therapy, Glastonbury Tor, Somerset Levels, Cheddar Gorge and the spa city of Bath. After spending the day exploring many attractions, return to this delightful property and snuggle up in front of the woodburner, set in a lovely inglenook with bread oven. Beach 20 miles. A lovely, secluded courtyard offers the perfect spot for al-fresco dining or simply a place to enjoy some warm summer sun and a cheeky tipple!
You needn’t venture far with glorious countryside walks or cycle routes from the door along with a couple of good local Inns within a short distance from Otters Holt. The pretty town of Wellington is just a few miles away and offers a great range of independent shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as an award-winning park. Wellington was also named in The Times in 2021 as the 3rd best place to live in the Britain, and so is well worth a visit. If you do venture further afield you will be impressed by the abundance of great spots to visit, from the stunning natural beauty of Exmoor National Park to the wonderful Quantock Hills, and if fresh sea air is on your list the stunning North Devon Coast is within an hour’s drive and is ideal for surfing, kite surfing for the more adventurous!
The Jurassic coastline and picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its independent shops, restaurants and fossil hunting opportunities is less than 1 hour drive. Further South the beaches and seaside towns of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Teignmouth are all within easy reach.

If stunning scenery, a picture-perfect village and stylish yet comfortable accommodation is on your tick list, then Withymead Cottage is the place for you! Set all on the ground floor with ramped access, you enter into the spacious yet cosy open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine and all you need to whip up everything from the simplest meal to a family feast! The living area has a gorgeous corner sofa, TV and gas wood burner, making this the perfect space to relax after a busy day exploring Exmoor. The bedrooms, each with a Smart TV, are located at each end of the apartment, with a twin bedroom at one end and a double bedroom at the other which has beautiful French doors leading to your private gravelled courtyard. The large bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and light up mirror, there is also a second separate toilet. Outside, you have two private courtyard spaces, both of which are fully enclosed and have seating areas where you can sit back and relax or enjoy an al fresco meal. Your four legged family members are able to run around in this area. You also have use of the owner’s enchanting landscaped gardens that lead down to the River Barle, where you are able to spend time fishing as the owners have the rights to this part of the river! *Please keep your dogs on the lead in the main gardens due to the owner’s chickens and ducks.
When staying at Withymead Cottage, you are lucky enough to be staying in one of Exmoor’s most picturesque villages, with its river meandering through, a fabulous tea room, well stocked local shop and a 17th-century pub, it truly is the English countryside at its finest. Miles and miles of walks head off in every direction or jump in your car and discover more of the area, such as Tarr Steps or the beautiful north coast towns of Porlock and Lynton. For more history head to the Medieval village of Dunster and visit the Castle then jump on the West Somerset Steam Railway and chug along the coast and through the countyside.

Welcome to Little Folly, a delightful cottage in the heart of Exmoor’s national park. Refurbished in late 2021, Little Folly provides the perfect escape for two couples or a family looking to get away from it all and head back to nature for a while. On the ground floor you have an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen area with a stunning bay window enjoying amazing views over the garden to the hills beyond. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal that you can enjoy at the table, while the lounge area has comfortable seating to relax after a day on the moors. The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and views over the garden. Head up four steps to the fabulous bathroom which has a P-shaped bath with shower over and heated towel rail. On this level you will also find the main bedroom featuring a super kingsize zip and link bed (which can be made into two singles on request).

Outside you have plenty of parking, and your garden is the perfect place to relax and let your family unwind, and from the doorstep there are miles of walks over the moor. Just a mile down the hill is the village of Winsford with its local pub, or hop in the car and explore the myriad of quaint rural villages dotted around, with tea rooms and country inns that have some of the best views! The beaches of Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor are within easy reach and always make for a fun day out. Jump on the West Somerset Steam Railway and chug merrily through the beautiful Somerset countryside. Dulverton is just a 10 minute drive with its shops and supermarket.

The owners have received an Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Friendly business award. This is very exciting as Astro tourism is a growing component of the tourist industry. Our towns and cities create so much light pollution that most people in the UK cannot appreciate the moon, let alone the stars and planets. Exmoor, along with other remote areas of the UK run events to promote the night sky. The garden is ideal for viewing the night sky and there are two sets of Astro binoculars for guests to enjoy the starry sky. Blankets, baked potatoes and a hot drink can also be provided on request.

Wagtails is a luxurious property, totally dog-focused and ideal for families or couples, located just outside the village of Langford Budville. Set between woodland and open countryside with panoramic views of the Blackdown Hills in the lovely vale of Taunton Deane on the Somerset/Devon border.
This wonderful property is warm, spacious and homely, furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout, with everything you would need for your doggy holiday. There is a utility room and an adjacent outside hot doggy shower, equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, throws (for use on sofas and chairs), towels, poo bags, treats and toys. The living room has comfy seating for you and your dogs, an electric fire and a 50" Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a freezer that can be used for raw food.
Outside, the humans can relax in the private hot tub, even in the winter months, or in the large double-ended bath. For the younger guests, there is a cot, highchair and stairgate available. There is a den room with toys and books, and a shared park close by with swings and slides. Wagtails provides everything you would need for your dogs and the family. The garden is well-fenced and has a large patio area with seating, a coal barbecue and a food serving area. The garden is private with views over the open countryside. The hot tub area also has seating and plastic glasses are supplied so you can sip sundowners whilst in the hot tub on summer evenings.
Adjoining a 200-acre nature reserve, offering beautiful country walks from the doorstep and further afield on the Blackdowns, Quantocks and Exmoor. A walking guide and a list of dog-friendly pubs can be found in the cottage. A dog-friendly café is a 5-minute walk up the track, serving freshly baked cakes, cream teas and tasty light lunches. The dog-friendly village pub is a 10-minute walk and offers real ales, open fires and good food.
Nearby places to discover include The Blackdown Hills with the recently restored monument, the town of Wellington with lots of independent cafés and shops, as well as Exmoor National Park. Minehead and North Devon, with sandy beaches, are within easy reach. Taunton is within 10 miles, and the city of Exeter is approximately 22 miles, brimming with history and heritage, and it offers many visitor attractions to keep you entertained for hours on end. Welcome to Holgates, refurbished in 2024 and beautifully presented, ensuring the perfect holiday in the Somerset countryside, just a mile from the Devon border. With a recently installed air source heat pump, solar panels on the property, ecological cleaning products and recycling of household waste, we take pride in our efforts to have as little impact upon the environment as possible, and we plan to continue improving.
Holgates is set on one level, accessed via the conservatory into the well-equipped kitchen/dining room, with wonderful views across the garden and fields beyond. In the living room is plenty of seating, an electric fire for cosy evenings and French doors opening onto the garden and views of the rolling hills. The inner hallway has a games table and leads to the two bedrooms and main bathroom. The master bedroom has a super kingsize bed, a TV and hairdryer. There is room for us to make up a cot. The second bedroom can be made up into a kingsize bed or two singles.
The enclosed garden has a terrace with table and chairs, as well as a coal barbeque, and you will find a selection of garden games in the conservatory. The hot tub offers the perfect spot for relaxing.
Situated on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the Quantock Hills and Honiton. For family entertainment, head to the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, The West Somerset Steam Railway, or for the younger ones, visit Crealy Adventure Park near Exeter. The Blackdown Hills themselves offer some superb country walking, wildlife, flying for the adventurous at Dunkeswell Airdrome or simply enjoy the local village pubs. Within a 40-minute drive, visit the Jurassic Coast and the seaside town of Lyme Regis, and slightly further afield Weston Super Mare, or even Bath with its many restaurants, shops and museums. South Coast Devon beaches are just 18 miles away and the Somerset northern beach 26 miles.
By arrangement with the owner and at cost, stables and fields can be used for your horse, with hacking and bridlepaths close by.

Grapevine Cottage is a newly refurbished thatched cottage in a tiny hamlet in Somerset; set in a peaceful farm courtyard owned by the estate nearby. The cottage is ideally situated for quiet country escapes but also has good access Wells and Bath nearby.
Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated and both have an ensuite, one with a bath and shower, the other a walk-in wetroom and shower. The open plan kitchen is full of all the modern conveniences, with a lovely large stone-floored living and dining room making the perfect space for enjoying food and good company. Outside is a well tended garden and gorgeous walks can be enjoyed from your doorstep.
Grapevine Cottage is in the heart of Somerset cider country, so we suggest a local walk and visits to Temperley’s Cider Brandy Company at Burrow Hill and Perry’s Cider Brewery Museum.

This detached property is set at the bottom of the owners grounds and is surrounded by 360 degree views overlooking the beautiful Mendips and Quantock Hills. This makes an excellent base for walkers and nature lovers alike. The lodge is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, with some fantastic walks, great for your four legged friends to join you. Electric cars may be slow charged using an outdoor standard 3-pin socket (at cost, by arrangement with owner).

The market town of Axbridge is only 2 miles away and the bustling village of Wedmore with its great restaurants, shops and tearooms only 4 miles. You will be spoilt for choice here with so many places of interest to visit, including Wells Cathedral, England’s smallest city with its Bishops Palace, and Glastonbury with its famous tor and abbey.
