Hunters Lodge is perfectly set in the delightful little village of Scruton which is located outside the wonderful market town of Northallerton. Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, this detached property is simply stunning and is everything you would want from a holiday cottage. Hunters Lodge still retains its sense of history, after being converted from an old barn with exposed beams throughout, giving you that home from home feeling as soon as you step in.
On the ground floor you have a delightful and comfortable living area which offers fantastic views of the spectacular countryside, a wood burner for those colder evenings, adding additional heat and charm, a great area to kick back and relax in with a glass of red after a long day exploring this wonderful area. The large country style kitchen which is well presented and well-equipped gives you plenty of room for food preparation and dining space, should you wish to have a home cooked meal. In addition, this is a great area for socialising in or playing a board game with the family. Adjacent from the living room down the hallway are two good sized bedrooms, both with fresh linen, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep ready for the next day’s adventure. In between both bedrooms is the large family bathroom, with a shower over bath should you wish to have a long soak.
To the rear of the property, you have a perfect garden which offers a seating area, giving you a great place to sit out and relax in the summer months, whilst enjoying a glass of fizz or taking in the fresh country air with your morning coffee.
With the cottage situated outside of Northallerton, the local pubs, restaurants and shops are within easy reach as well as the world-famous Betty’s tea room where afternoon tea is a must. You can explore the stunning North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, both packed full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks. Nearby towns which are well worth a visit include Helmsley, Thirsk, Richmond and a little further afield York and Leeds which can be accessed by the train station in Northallerton. Situated on a working sheep farm it is within walking distance of the village where you’ll find a children’s park and a railway station with regular trains to Skipton and Leeds. There are 2 pubs within a 3-4 minute walk. There are plenty of walks direct from the door, with the Pennine Way running past the farm offering a multitude of picturesque walks.
The market town of Skipton is just 3 miles away, known as the ’Gateway to the Dales’ where you will find shopping, a Norman castle and canal boat trips. Close by is picturesque Bolton Abbey, lovely to explore and stroll through the woodland alongside the river at any time of the year. Shop 750 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Silver 6pence is bright and beautifully decorated throughout and boasts a private parking space which is a real bonus in Whitby. Located only 200 yards from the beach, you are just a stroll along the seafront from all the bars, restaurants and amenities that this bustling town has to offer. Inside this delightful house you have the living room at the front with a separate open plan kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is modern and perfect for guests who love to create fresh home cooked meals to enjoy together. There are glass doors leading out from the dining area into your enclosed garden, which has a table and chairs ready for sunny evenings of al fresco dining. Plus there is storage for bikes, surf boards and other outdoor equipment. The garden looks out onto a green open space which leads you down towards the beach. Upstairs are three bedrooms, the master double bedroom, a twin bedroom with a zip and link kingsize bed which can be made up as 2ft 6in twin beds on request, and a single bedroom.

Whitby is famous for its links to Dracula, and the Gothic abbey and graveyard tower 199 steps above the town. The climb is worth the effort just to take in the fantastic views of the town and out to sea. Many events and festivals take place all year round such as the Goth Weekender, Folk Week, Whitby Regatta, Steampunk festivals and many music events. There are plenty of traditional pubs to complement the wine bars, as well as many different bistros and restaurants to choose from, not forgetting award-winning fish and chips. There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sand complete with ice cream parlours and arcades to enjoy, and a long pier to walk down.

If you want to get off the beaten track there are many coves and bays dotted along the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast to explore. Hidden gems such as Runswick Bay and Boggle Hole along with the more famous such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are worth a visit. There are many local walks in the area including the Cleveland Way route, and the Cinder Track across the viaduct which heads down to Robin Hood’s Bay.

Head inland into the North York Moors National Park for stunning scenery and fabulous views. Local bus, car, bike or even a journey on a traditional steam train are other ways to get out and see what the area has to offer. The Victorian seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its two huge bays; North Bay for a quiet stroll watching the waves, or South Bay for amusement arcades, a fairground and a harbour. The Open Air Theatre plays host to many international artists throughout the summer months, and Peasholm Park hosts its Model Naval War on a regular basis. There are a number of golf courses, cycling tracks and country or beach walks in the local area. If history is your thing, there are many abbeys and historic places of interest throughout North Yorkshire including the Eden War Museum in Malton. The walled city of York is just an hour’s drive away.

This comfortably furnished holiday lodge is one of four other similar lodges on-site and enjoys a peaceful, rural setting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A small, private woodland site is shared amongst the other properties which are all located close to the River Ure in Wensleydale. The small market town of Masham is just 3 miles away with tea shops, a good choice of inns, excellent restaurants, shops, Theakston’s Brewery and a quaint cobbled square, which plays host to weekly markets and speciality markets including the annual Sheep Fair every September.

There is wonderful walking directly from the lodge site into the beautiful scenery of the Wensleydale countryside, with medieval abbeys, castles and waterfalls. Lightwater Valley Theme Park, Forbidden Corner (a garden of surprises), the market town of Leyburn, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens, and Ripon with its dominating cathedral, are all within 10 miles. The elegant spa town of Harrogate is 20 miles, famous for Betty’s Tea Room, and the historic, walled city of York with its museums, is 35 miles. For sporting enthusiasts there are many activities nearby including golf, cycle hire, riding, fishing and sailing. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

At Lady Edith’s Holiday Park, you have a welcoming family friendly bar next to a play area, making this fun for everyone. You can also purchase a fishing permit for the local mere, or explore the nearby woodland. In Scarborough there are two bays. North Bay Beach sweeps in a crescent lined with colourful beach huts with the Sea Life Centre at the far end. You can walk from the North Bay all the way along the promenade to the busier South Bay. At the south bay you have all the fun of a traditional seaside holiday with arcades as well as many cafés, restaurants, bars and shops to visit. Both bays have lovely, large sandy beaches. There is also Scarborough Castle which stands on the cliff top between the two bays, as well as the casino and the funfair on the seafront.
Peasholm Park is wonderful to discover, you can hire pedalos and rowing boats to go around the lake and see the stunning oriental gardens. Scarborough is famous for its theatres. There is an outdoor theatre which stages concerts by some of music’s big names, and then there is the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is famous for the premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays. The Alpamare waterpark is great for all ages, with its fantastic wave pool and waterslides, as well as a large heated outdoor infinity pool. Keep younger children entertained with the ’splash and play’ area. For adults there is a spa where you can relax and be pampered. The heated outdoor pools are warm enough to enjoy through all of the seasons. Further along the coast you also have Ravenscar, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Bridlington to discover. 107 Nunnery is delightful property located just moments from the heart of the historic city of York. Set over four floors you enter the property on the ground floor into the open plan living space. This is a great area to relax with its 2 comfy sofas, a wood burner and a smart TV with Netflix and Britbox. The kitchen area is well equipped for all your culinary needs along with a dining area complete with a table which seats six people. Down one flight of stairs you have a fantastic cinema/games room which boosts a 75 inch Smart TV along with an adult size table football, a great place to keep the children entertained.
On the second floor you have two bedrooms, one is the master bedroom with a king size bed and the other with a single. On the same floor you have a gorgeous bathroom which boasts a Japanese style deep soaking tub where you can sit back and relax after a day’s exploring, the bathroom also offers a shower cubicle and underfloor heating. Up another flight of stairs, you have an attic bedroom with a double bed which can be split into twins on request and an additional bed for a 6th person can also be set up for an extra charge. To the rear of the property, you have a lovely private courtyard area which is ideal to have a glass of fizz al fresco style in the warm summer months.
York is the one of the most visited cities outside of London and is popular throughout the whole year with numerous festivals and magical Christmas markets. In addition, 107 is situated just off ‘Bishy Road’ that recently beat 230 contenders to be crowned Britain’s Best High Street. You also have many attractions within walking distance from the property including the iconic minster, Railway Museum and Clifford’s Tower; admire the beautiful architecture at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, step back in time at the Jorvik Centre and the Castle Museum. Stroll along the cobbles down the world-famous Shambles or take one of the terrifying night-time ghost walks which are a must.
