Scarborough, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Sandsend are within 20 miles. Horse racing at Thirsk, Wetherby and York, 25 miles. Helmsley has Duncombe Park and a castle. This tranquil location welcomes guests into a slower pace of life, where you can relax and enjoy the company of your loved ones. In here, you can prepare your evening meals within the well-appointed kitchen before enjoying it within the delightful dining area, making the perfect spot for planning the days ahead. Next to the site there is a popular Thai restaurant and you can also head into the thriving village of Pocklington which is known as the gateway to the Wolds. Here you will find a local pub as well as a couple of supermarkets, with a market every Tuesday. In less than a 30-minute drive you will locate the walled city of York. Whilst here, you can visit the Gothic-style cathedral, step inside the time capsule of the Jorvik Viking Centre, or enjoy the vast array of shops, restaurants and pubs within the city. Nearby, for children, you have York Maze, Piglets Farm as well as Flamingo Land theme park and zoo. There are some wonderful walking trails nearby making this a great destination for hikers as well as dog lovers. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 ½ mile and restaurant 500 yards.

Set within the delightful little village of Wighill, which has its excellent pub and is located just outside York, one of the most visited cities outside London. You have quick access to the independent shops, café, pubs, restaurants, and the many tourist attractions York has to offer. Other towns and cities close by are the fashionable spa town of Harrogate and the bustling city of Leeds. Brook Hall is also on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, both full of bike trails and beautiful scenic walks. Brook Hall is also very well positioned for both York and Wetherby racecourses, so why not have a day at the races? If you and the family fancied a day at the beach, the wonderful east coast can be found in just over one hour.
