The moment you approach this beautifully converted chapel you know you’re in store for a lovely stay in a unique property. The large wooden chapel doors open to reveal a big hallway with a couple of rooms leading off to the sides. You come to a useful study room first which offers a little privacy or peace, and the opposite is a utility room providing the perfect place to dry and feed the dog, dry wet coats after a busy day’s walking in the Lakes. A second set of doors opens into an impressive, Instagram-worthy living space, with high vaulted ceilings, large leaded windows, and oak beams.
Once you catch your breath, you can take in the large kitchen with all the amenities and space required to cater anything from a simple sandwich to a family feast. The breakfast bar is the ideal place to watch the chef show off their skills whilst enjoying a glass of wine before moving the feast to the large dining table, where you could easily imagine you were starring in an epic movie during a medieval banquet.

The iconic Coniston Water is just 10 miles away, offering a great location for wild swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking for those water enthusiasts. Alternatively, within a short drive, you can enjoy the world-famous Windermere water offering Lakeside towns to explore with an excellent range of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, or attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter. Take a lake cruise or hire your motorboat to enjoy this vast expanse of water. Edwin Cottage is a delightful, traditional stone house in the friendly seaside town of Amble. From Edwin Cottage you are only a short walk from all of the amenities Amble has to offer. This includes a range of shops, highly rated and award-winning restaurants, a popular ice cream parlour, one of the best traditional fish and chip shops in the Northeast and a selection of pubs.

From Edwin Cottage you can also take a stroll to Amble high street, the marina, the Little Shore beach, and quayside harbour area that offers a range of leisure and shopping opportunities and benefits from fantastic scenery with views of the Coquet estuary, Warkworth Castle and the bird watching haven of RSPB Coquet Island, which lies just a mile off the coast. This is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the Northeast. Right next to the beach, it offers fantastic views across the length of Druridge Bay and is internationally renowned for its birds.
You can also travel inland only a few miles to the market town of Alnwick and Alnwick Castle that has been the filming location in a variety of films, including the exterior of Hogwarts in Harry Potter films. The castle also has a set of beautiful, landscaped gardens to explore, including the famous Poison Garden. If you are in the mood for a picnic or just a long walk, Hulne Park is the perfect choice, as well as Alnwick Castle Golf Club for those seeking to enjoy a leisurely game.

Warwick House is a lovely stone-built property in the small friendly village of Felton. This lovely house has been completely refurbished in 2021 with a lovely wood burner in the contemporary living room for cosying up for nights in on a cooler evening. This three-bedroom house with a lovely deep bath and large shower cubicle even has a small private sitting area to the rear which catches the sun, lovely for relaxing after a day out exploring. Only a very short walk is a popular village pub serving lovely food and an award-winning café so you can leave your car at the door and relax for an evening. Your pets are welcome here with plenty of paths for walking nearby.
Felton is located midway between Alnwick and Morpeth both lovely little towns with Alnwick the home to the Duke of Northumberland who lives in the famous castle featured in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter, with cobbled streets to explore and plenty of shops and tearooms it is a lovely day out. The village is easily accessed from the main A1 and Burgham Park Golf course is only 3 miles. Nearby the Heritage Coast AONB has golden sands and unspoilt beaches for you to explore all peppered with castles, ruins, and friendly little villages. The Northumbrian people will offer you a warm welcome and Warwickk House is a perfect location for your family holiday at any time of year. The attention to details throughout the rooms is evident as you arrive, and it really is a super place to stay with your friends or family. Craster which is famous for the smoked kippers and ruins of Dunstanborough Castle is only 15 miles, and inland a visit over to Hadrian’s Wall to discover some of the Old Roman Fort Museums is a lovely day trip for a change of scenery and only 40 miles away. Felton is a super location for your holiday with easy access to all the roads network enabling you to go somewhere different every day of your holiday.

Amber Waves is a tastefully furnished, semi-detached property, located in the traditional seaside village of Seahouses. The property underwent a total makeover in 2020 and offers stylish accommodation. From the entrance porch there is a generous living room with a cosy wood burner, leading to the kitchen/diner. A newly revamped shower room and utility area is also on the ground floor. There is a rear door from the kitchen to a fully enclosed patio garden where there are colourful beach huts offering ample storage for outdoor equipment, including bikes and diving equipment. There are three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. The largest of the bedrooms has two sets of adult size bunk beds, making Amber Waves able to accommodate up to eight guests.
Seahouses offers a wide array of tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance of Amber Waves. Boat trips run from the nearby harbour to the Farne Islands, famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic castle, is only 2 miles north, where there is a wide expanse of golden, and often empty sandy beaches. The tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island, can be seen from the beach and is accessible via a causeway twice daily. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers. The historic market town of Alnwick, with its own castle, offers many facilities, just a short drive inland. The local metro is within easy walking distance so you can explore an abundance of places including South Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and Newcastle to discover the delights of this historic and beautiful city. Nearby the award winning beaches at Seaburn and Roker are ideal for unwinding and relaxing and have been favourite family spots for many years. The lovely wide promenade and seafront are perfect for an evening stroll and are dotted with places to stop off for a snack or drink. A traditional park in Roker has play areas, lake and miniature railway set in the floral displays. Every year Sunderland illuminations brighten the seafront from September to November so staying at The Stables is an ideal base to see this fantastic show.

Tynemouth is only 10 miles away with more golden beaches and an abundance of bars and eating places. The Northumberland Heritage Coastline Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is easily reached from here via an easy road network. The owners have an indoor and outdoor equestrian centre, so hacking out over the fields is a joy and can be done directly from the cottage.
