Paddock Cottage is a charming and attractive former farm workers cottage with a cosy open fire. Enjoying splendid views and situated on a mixed working farm, with cows, calves, horses and three pet pigs called Prudence, Portia and Primrose, about 2 miles north of the historic market town of Alnwick. Both holiday cottages are furnished and equipped to provide a comfortable style of accommodation in a quiet location, reached by a country lane which passes through the farm. This is a superb area in which to base your holiday as the surrounding countryside is wonderful, and the beautiful coastline with its many sandy beaches is just a short drive away. Nearby Seahouses, famous for its lovely fish and chips, is a bustling harbour town unchanged for years. Take a boat trip from here to the Farne Islands to see the migrating birds or seals. No trip to Northumberland is complete without heading over to Holy Island, reached by a causeway at low tide. Beadnell Bay can truly be described as the jewel in Northumberland’s seaside crown; idyllic for a romantic barefoot stroll in the sand to listen to the waves lap against the shoreline and inhale the invigorating sea air. Two miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands – famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony – depart regularly from its harbour.
