The location is close to Warkworth and Amble, two of the top tourist destinations in Northumberland. Warkworth is a picture-postcard village with the castle sat at the top, great cafés and a few friendly pubs. Amble is larger with a working harbour and bustling little harbour front with a great Sunday market, shopping pods and more restaurants and pubs. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is only 11 miles away and really worth a visit during your stay. A little further you will find Craster, a pretty little village with an array of amenities. Travel a further to Seahouses, 25 miles, for a real seaside experience with fish and chips and boat rides to the Farne Islands to see the seals or puffins. The border town of Berwick is only 40 miles away, steeped in history, and once belonging to Scotland. A walk through the surrounding farmland and countryside will take you to an award winning ice cream parlour. Don’t forget you can easily travel inland too, over towards the stunning National Park where you can witness the true diversity that Northumberland has to offer. Set well back from a country lane, The Old Farmhouse is a very pretty cottage set within its own idyllic farm steading, ideal for a family or small group of friends wanting to enjoy a relaxing rural retreat. The cottage features two spacious sitting room’s; both rooms bright and airy with lovely countryside views, with the first sitting room offers an open fire. The farm style kitchen is a fabulous space and is well-equipped to support you with your every culinary requirement. Within the kitchen there is a large central dining table which makes the kitchen the perfect spot for them more social evenings with friends and family. French doors lead you out into the beautifully landscaped back garden. To the back of the property, you will find a large conservatory boasting spectacular views! There is also a handy downstairs shower room occupying the ground floor.
Head up to the first floor and find four large bedrooms: a super king with en-suite, a double with en-suite, a family room with one double and two singles and a single room. The stylish family bathroom completes the upstairs layout with a jacuzzi bath or shower. The lawn is ideal for adult relaxation or play time with your furry friends and is enclosed by a stone wall, beyond which lies miles of beautiful countryside with cattle and sheep grazing happily. There are also plenty of seating areas externally which can be enjoyed around the water feature. Watch the sun set from the warmth of the hot tub, the perfect way to unwind after a memorable day.
Ancroft is a very small rural village, it sits just 5 miles from the popular Berwick Upon Tweed, take a stroll to one of four beautiful beaches, offering water sporting opportunities, breath-taking scenery, and plenty of family excitement, you’ll truly be spoilt for choice. Enjoy a relaxing game of golf, or enrich yourself with the history of Berwick Castle, involved in many Anglo-Saxon wars, there’s plenty to uncover. Take a scenic stroll along the River Tweed before enjoying a spot of lunch in one of the many eateries on offer or take a trip to nearby Duns to discover its award-winning butcher and delicatessen, alongside being an exciting hub for racing enthusiasts with its Jim Clark Museum and the Jim Clark Rally. Also, in easy reach of Bamburgh, a stunningly attractive small village set on the Northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling. You can’t fail to be impressed by the sheer scale of the castle once you are up close and in the village itself. There is much to do in the village alongside the castle and its amazing history, there are impressive stretches of pure golden sandy beaches, many English tea rooms and restaurants, and a newly renovated museum dedicated to Grace Darling.

Well House is an imposing, lovingly furnished with Farrow & Ball colour schemes, Grade II listed home dating back to the early 1700s (circa 1640), which retains many of its original period features, being high ceilings and exposed beams. Formerly the Angel Inn, Well House faces the high street in the popular village of Belford. This property was believed to have been protected throughout war due to the property being the main source of water for the village, and amazingly the well still remains in the cellar of this historic property! Well House has significant historical local importance and legend. Directly next door to the property there is award-winning Well House Café which offers the most mouth-watering home cooked bakes and breakfasts, ideally located.
Sleeping 8 guests over 2 floors with three bedrooms plus a master suite boasting outstanding features throughout, this property is ideal for a large gathering of family or friends to celebrate a special occasion. The ground floor and lower ground floor is home to two sitting areas, and a snug/games room providing you and your family ample socialising spots; both of the sitting areas have toasty wood burning fires and cosy seating. Additionally, on this floor you will find a gorgeous kingsize bedroom boasting a lovely en-suite with a double shower and basin (no toilet). When evening draws in, head off to sleep in one of the further three bedrooms on offer.

The second bedroom is another spacious kingsize with its own en-suite. To the rear wing of the property there is a further room with two single beds. The garden is a particularly beautiful and restful feature of Well House, so take the time to enjoy with a good book or some alfresco dining under the summer sun. Belford, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a quaint village retreat in an excellent location for cyclists, walkers, historians, and families to explore Bamburgh, Seahouses, Berwick, Alnwick, Holy Islands and Cheviot Hills in Northumberland National Park. It also has pubs serving food, fish & chips, restaurants, newsagents, farm shop, museum, church, and supermarket, along with some great local walks.
