The market town of Alnwick, with its castle, offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall and a restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Embleton is a friendly village which has a local shop, garage and pubs serving food. The coastal village of Beadnell is only 7 miles north and is popular with watersports enthusiasts. Windsurfing, sea kayaking and scuba diving are often enjoyed here. An extra couple of miles up the coastline is Seahouses; a great stop for fish and chips as well as many other eateries. Boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands depart regularly from the harbour. Heading a little further north brings you to Bamburgh, famous for its majestic castle.
