Enjoy some home cooked lunch with enviable uninterrupted sea views at Wisemans Bridge Inn, which is only a few minutes’ drive away. Here, you can dine above the sandy beach and unwind and relax after you have explored the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. A great day out for all ages is Folly Farm Zoo which is so close you can see the Ferris wheel light up on an evening, complete with a host of animals, which is sure to keep the family entertained, or for thrill seekers, Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, is within a 10-minute drive. Discover the picture postcard, walled town of Tenby, where you can explore the cobbled streets, the many galleries or build sandcastles with your children on the magnificent South Beach.
Further around this sublime coastline is the harbour town of Saundersfoot, where you can enjoy fish and chips on the harbour walls looking out towards Worms Head and the Gower Peninsula. There is a host of local attractions for your family, including Manor House Wildlife Park, or for those rare rainy days, you may prefer the indoor water park that is Blue Lagoon, a 10-minute drive away. Manor Lodge Stables is nestled within the hamlet of Wiston and near to the market town of Narberth, deep within the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside. Once a large stable block set around a south-facing courtyard, it has now been totally transformed into this fantastic space and is ideal for families and friends alike with a high level of comfort and luxury. Enjoy a number of beautiful countryside walks from your doorstep and take in the remains of Wiston Castle with sublime views across the county. In the nearby village of Llawhaden you can take a step back in time to impressive Llawhaden Castle again offering amazing views and trip back in time. Take a 5-minute drive to the small village of Clarbeston Road, offering a traditional Welsh pub serving meals and local ales or Narberth around a 15 minutes’ drive and offers a plethora of eateries specialising in locally sourced produce, boutique and antique shops all waiting to be discovered.
The hub of the house is a large open plan living space with glass bi-folding doors giving stunning views bringing the outside in. These lead onto a spacious patio area which is perfect for catching the sunshine with a glass of wine after a busy day of sightseeing. The kitchen offers the perfect space to cook up a storm to celebrate that special occasion with a modern contemporary feel throughout, there’s even the added luxury of an ice and water dispenser in the fridge to help you cool down on those warmer days. On an evening you can relax in front of the focal wood burner or catch the game on TNT Sports, or perhaps soak in the free-standing slipper bath before retiring to your bedroom. Each room has been finished to a high standard and really does offer excellent levels of comfort and space throughout with the master bedroom having the added luxury of a rainforest shower. For those who may be less mobile, a purpose built aluminium ramp to aid with access into the property is available on request. For pets, there is an external, warm water shower hose.
A great day out for your family is the famous walled town of Tenby, compete with its fantastic beach, cobbled streets and picture postcard harbour. Just a 30-minute drive away, here you can also take a boat trip fishing or to Caldey Island to see the Cistercian monks of Caldey Abbey. A visit to Wild Lakes Wakeboard Park (15 mins from Lodge) is highly recommended; the giant inflatable obstacle course in the middle of the lake is fantastic fun for all the family. The beaches at Newgale and Broadhaven are within a 30-minute drive and offer surfing and canoe hire, whilst marros Stables offer beach horse riding. Clerkenhill Adventure Park is a 10-minute drive, Carew Castle is a 20-minute drive and Pembroke Castle is a 30-minute drive. Hangar 5 offers a large indoor trampoline park and a soft play area, perfect for those rainy days, and is only 15 minutes away, and 20 minutes away you can explore Folly Farm Zoo. There are a variety of outward bound activity companies which offer exhilarating boat trips and activities such as coasteering. For those keen fisherman Holgan Farm fishery is a 10 minutes drive. This solid stone-built Pembrokeshire country house has been lovingly restored, maintaining many original features but bringing it up to date for 21st century living. A spacious family kitchen with A-frame beams has a wonderful view over sleepy pastures. The house is decorated throughout to the highest standards enhanced by an abundance of Melin Tregwynt cushions and throws. Artwork by local artists which adorns the walls has been collected over the years and really sets off this beautiful house. The house has five bedrooms, three en-suites, a master bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. There is one luxurious bedroom with a designer en-suite shower downstairs and the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. The bathrooms have stunning features like high tech lighting with famed Hansgrohe fitments which give sleek timeless style. Mulberry House has cutting edge design encapsulated in a traditional building. While away the hours whilst you explore the finest parts of Pembrokeshire and the most secluded of beaches. Pwllderi and Strumble Head are fantastic spots for seal watching, particularly in the early autumn when the seals with their pups can be seen in large numbers on the stony beaches below.

A visit to Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a trip to its majestic sites of the west including Pembroke, Carew and Manorbier castles, or a trip to the award-wining leisure attractions of Oakwood, Folly Farm and Anna’s Welsh Zoo located in the south of the county near the popular tourist resort of Tenby. As you sweep down through the idyllic hamlet of Llanmill, through a beautiful wooded valley and over the babbling stream, the imposing, period Tan Y Castell can be discovered, perched on the edge of the valley and overlooking the lake with its resident swans. A footpath runs next to the house, giving access to the surrounding countryside. The origin of the gorgeous Tan Y Castell Welsh cakes is to be found right in the kitchen of this house itself. Tan Y Castell has been delightfully restored to its former glory and has been thoughtfully furnished to a high standard. Formal dining can be enjoyed in the spacious dining room, complete with an ornamental fireplace. Cosy nights can be whiled away in front of the open fire or in the private hot tub, or enjoy a glass of wine on the decked terrace overlooking the rolling fields and woodland. Accessed by a rough track, and with the owner living adjacent, detached Tan Y Castell is a 5-minute drive from the boutique market town of Narberth which is aptly twinned with Ludlow. Several art galleries and antique shops can be found here, as well as the former town hall that still houses the cell where the leaders of the Rebecca Riots were imprisoned; superb dining using fresh local produce can also be enjoyed here. Further south is Folly Farm, voted one of Wales’ top attractions, along with the Blue Lagoon Water Park and Oakwood Theme Park, all within 10 minutes’ drive. From this charming property located in the heart of Pembrokeshire, it is easy to discover the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park coastline and the glorious coves and beaches that west Wales has to offer, along with the famous walled town of Tenby and its sandy beach not to be missed.
