Acharn Lodges are set in 30-acres to explore and enjoy, perfect for families, friends, couples and single guests. There are three detached lodges, Maple (UK5501), Alder (UK5502) and Larch (UK31134) which are all on one level and ideal for less mobile guests, four cottages Rowan Cottage (UK43455), Elm Cottage (UK43456), Ash cottage (UK43457) and Oak Cottage (UK43458), and a first floor apartment Pine Cottage (UK43454).
There is so much for guests to enjoy on the estate. Have a game of tennis or basketball on the court, and the children’s playground has a picnic table where adults can relax and keep an eye on the kids. If you are an experienced fisherman, there are three trout ponds where fly fishing with barbless hooks can be enjoyed on a catch and release basis. Salmon fishing is also available on the owner’s private stretch of the River Dochart, by prior arrangement with the owner when available.
There are lovely walks from your doorstep, pack a picnic and stop at one of the picnic benches around the ponds and estate where you can relax and make the most of the spectacular scenery. There is an abundance of wildlife to spot, have your camera at the ready to snap red squirrels, deer, pine martens and so many wild birds including ospreys. In the winter, the hills are perfect for sledging or skiing on gentle slopes, and spring and summer brings longer evenings to enjoy the wild birds and flowers, and with very little light pollution, enjoy the stars in the night sky.
The attractive Highland village of Killin is within walking distance along a quiet pathway where you will find bars, cafés, bistros, restaurants, shops, a 9-hole golf course and the spectacular Falls Of Dochart. Killin plays host to events throughout the year including the Highland games and a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.
This part of Scotland is steeped in history and legend. Acharn was once owned by the McNab clan and there are many other historic sites and buildings to visit close by including Finlarig Castle. If you enjoy the great outdoors this area provides walking, cycling and hill walking. Various water sports can be enjoyed on Loch Tay, with kayaking and white water rafting nearby, Highland safaris, or sample the ’water of life’ at a whisky distillery. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

What a lovely cottage! Within the grounds of the owner’s property, but completely detached and private, this delightful cottage, accessed by a rough track, has stunning expansive views over the fields and hills of rural Perthshire, yet is just a mile or so out of the village of Methven. Inside, the cottage has been lovingly furnished with calming colour schemes. The living room has comfy sofas and a soothing atmosphere and opens up onto the sun room at the rear, which leads to a private patio and hot tub, perfect for an evening soak in peaceful surroundings. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped with everything you need to cook up a lovely meal, and upstairs the main bedroom has a quirky element with a shower cubicle also in the room. There is a separate bathroom upstairs and a toilet downstairs. Outside, the pretty garden gives way to horse paddocks, and beyond are the rolling fields of the surrounding farm.Please note in September, the grain dryer in the adjoining barn can run for long hours.
This is great place to enjoy a varied holiday in the wonderful county of Perthshire. There is easy access to the fair city of Perth itself, with its wide selection of boutique shops, artisan cafés and restaurants. Culture lovers can take in a show at the renowned HorseCross in the centre of Perth, or in the more traditional Perth Theatre. Other recreational facilities include swimming, skating and cinema, as well as plenty of golf in the surrounding area. For golfers, Gleneagles is an easy drive.
The popular town of Crieff is a short drive away, with the Glenturret Distillery well worth a visit, or visit Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre in Comrie, a great place for children and adults alike to interact with native and foreign species amongst wonderful scenery. Located six miles from the historic city of Perth, Gardeners Cottage offers a rural location with forest walks and cycle rides on the doorstep. Also, the lochs and river Tay network provide plenty of opportunities for water sports such as wild swimming, canoeing, white water rafting and stand up paddle boarding.
Perthshire has many award-winning restaurants, including two that have Michelin stars. There are many artisanal food producers, and there is also a vibrant arts scene including Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre, Scone Palace and Birnam Arts Centre and Perthshire Creates to name a few. Whatever you decide to do there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Set amidst the gloriously beautiful landscape near the top of Glenisla, the location of this very comfortable detached cottage will delight walkers and bird watchers alike. Cosy and traditionally furnished, Dalvanie Mill sits on a small working farm, an ideal location for enjoying the local area’s superb walking, golf, riding and fishing. Just 8 miles away lie the winter ski slopes at Glenshee and a scenic 35 mile drive leads to Pitlochry’s famous fish ladder, theatre and quality shops. Shop/PO and inn serving food 7 miles.

In a splendid location in highland Perthshire, Frith View overlooks the lochan and deer park. The country park, which comprises of several holiday lodges and is accessed via a rough track, covers 35 acres with a lochan that is a haven for wildlife all year round. A great location for exploring the great outdoors there are activities to suit all. For the energetic, there are seven munros to climb within 10 miles, including Ben Lawers, Perthshire’s highest mountain. Schiehallion, Dun Beag and Dun Coillich can be seen from Frith View. It is also ideal countryside for cycling and mountain biking in the forests.

For a day out, and only 5 miles along the road at the end of Loch Tay, is the pretty conservation village of Kenmore where guests can enjoy riverside walks, participate in water sports, take a boat trip on the loch or discover several excellent places to eat. The Croft na Caber Centre, which is a reconstruction of an Iron Age stilt dwelling built over the water is one of the most renowned watersports centres in Scotland. The village hosts regular events, each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season, as the Tay is one of the finest angling rivers, and there is a firework display at New Year. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community run cinema and an award-winning book shop. The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. Escape to this splendid detached barn conversion in rural Perthshire, which is just a short drive from Auchterarder with its 1½-mile long high street lined with a splendid selection of eateries and bespoke shopping. Woodend Farm Barn nestles close to the owner’s home on Woodend Farm, now a 10-acre smallholding where Highland cattle and sheep graze. It was built well before the railway line, which is spanned by two beautiful bridges on the edge of the farm garden.
For many years, the farm operated as an 80-acre pig farm, but in 1999, a 10-acre section was sold off and the new owners completely transformed it. The farmhouse remained, but many of the sheds were taken down to leave just a small section, which was turned into stables. When the current owners took over in 2009, the barn itself was initially used as a machinery store and then a lambing shed, the barn has now been converted into a holiday home with a private hot tub, where guests can relax in the evening with a glass of wine in hand.
