Situated approximately halfway between Aberdeen and Inverness, just a short drive from Dufftown, there are many distilleries open to the public including the famous Glenlivet, Macallan and Glenfiddich to name but a few. A short distance away are many castles, National Trust houses and gardens to visit including Ballindalloch Castle, one of the most beautiful and romantic castles in Scotland. Many activities are available in the area including fishing, walking, shooting, golfing, cycling, skiing at the Lecht, a falconry centre and the beautiful beaches of the Moray coast, all within easy driving distance. This lovely, cosy, semi-detached holiday cottage is within the peaceful hamet of Nether Dallachy, just a mile from Spey Bay on the beautiful Moray coast. Styled in a mixture of antique and contemporary fittings, the cottage is all on one level and makes a good choice for the less able bodied too, as there is direct access into the house from the French doors at the rear which open onto a small enclosed sitting area with lovely views across the fields. Spey Bay is home to the National Whale and Dolphin Centre and is a wonderful area for spotting many species of wildlife including minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, ospreys, seals and much more. There are spectacular views over the sea towards the mountains of Caithness from the long shingle beach, and the world famous Spey Bay Golf Club is at the other end. For walkers, the Speyside Way passes close by and runs from Buckie on the shore of the Moray coast to Aviemore. The Whisky Trail is nearby and there are good fishing opportunities on the River Spey itself. If all this activity is too much, just relax by the woodburner and enjoy the peace. Beach 1 mile. The nearby town of Grantown-on-Spey is ideal for an afternoon of wandering around the shops, or perhaps enjoy a drive north to Lossiemouth and spend a day on the beach. The lodge has been renovated in 2020, now offering a great range of appliances in a warm and welcome space, complete with underfloor heating and a wood burner.

There is a stunning open plan living/dining/kitchen, with comfortable furniture wrapped around the wood burner and a well-quipped kitchen area. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and benefits from an en-suite shower room. There is also a twin bedroom served by a family bathroom. This lovely detached cottage is set amongst the rolling hills and stunning scenery of Glenlivet, in the heart of the Whisky Trail. Inside, attractive décor combines with comfortable furnishings to produce a cosy and homely atmosphere. The entrance vestibule has plenty of room for storing outdoor boots and coats, and the kitchen/dining room opens onto a sun room at the rear. This in turn leads onto a raised lawned garden, complete with summerhouse and wood-fired hot tub, where you can sit back in the warm water and admire the wonderful panoramic views beyond the garden. An ideal base for relaxing and exploring this wonderful part of the Scottish Highlands, Nether Clashnoir is situated approximately half-way between Aberdeen and Inverness. For the whisky connoisseur, there are many distilleries to visit including ’The Glenlivet’, the Macallan, the Balvenie and Glenfiddich.
Throughout this wild and romantic region, many castles, houses and gardens are open to the public including Ballindalloch Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland. From a sporting perspective there is plenty to do in the area, from fishing on the great Spey and Avon rivers, to walking, golfing, cycling at the nearby Glenlivet mountain bike trails or skiing at the Lecht. With other excellent sporting activities in and around the local area, guests will be spoilt for choice. Visit Carrbridge, home to the famous Landmark Centre where young and old can enjoy the various outdoor activities, or for a complete contrast take a trip up to the beautiful beaches of the Moray Coast, which is within easy driving distance.

This is the perfect family location sleeping four guests comfortably in the coastal town of Portknockie which is located in the stunning North-east of Scotland. The property has a very cosy kitchen-dining area sitting room and is beautifully furnished and finished after a full renovation. It has a relaxed sea-side feel which is ideal for friends or family who want the perfect get away to recharge. Portknockie is a great place for walkers and those who love to take in the local scenery. The neighbouring village of Cullen, about 2 miles away, is very much worth a visit. The local delicacy of cullen skink (a thick soup made with smoked haddock, potatoes and onions) is very historical and a great dish to try. You can take a boat trip on the Gemini Explorer to search for dolphins in the Moray Firth from Buckie, a working fishing town about 4 miles away. Or, further afield at Spey Bay, you will find the popular Scottish Dolphin Centre and Nature Reserve. The famous Speyside Whisky Trail is also within easy reach and should not be missed.

Take advantage of the proximity to the famous salmon fishing River Spey for a scenic walk, or cycle along the Speyside Way, and be sure to see the historic Ben Rinnes Distillery, which was founded in 1826 with its iconic tall red chimney. In the heart of Speyside there are numerous famous distilleries to explore. For walkers, a path starting up Ben Rinnes is nearby, and the lovely Lynn Waterfalls are also close to the old packhorse bridge in the village.

Aberlour is a charming little town located just 1.2 miles from the property in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, famous for whisky, Walker’s shortbread and salmon fishing. The town and vicinity is home to a variety of attractions, including the Speyside Cooperage, numerous famous distillery tours, The Wee Ferm, the attractive Aberlour Victoria Bridge and nearby Craigellachie (Telford) Bridge over the River Spey. There is a salmon smokehouse, choice of miniature or steam railways, and Moravia Aviation, as well as magnificent Ballindalloch Castle and grounds to enjoy along with a number of local golf courses.

Fishing on the Spey is sought after and there is also trout fishing close by. Within easy reach of the Cairngorms or Lecht for skiing and hill walking, and also beautiful beaches along the dolphin-famous Moray Firth. Moss of Bourach is a fabulous central location for rural fun and exploration. Venture to the city of Elgin, home to the Elgin Cathedral, which is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, as well as the Duffus Castle, which is a beautiful medieval castle.
