This is the perfect location to relax and enjoy this area with friends and family. There are an abundance of cafés, restaurants, bars and local shops all within walking distance, as well as a network of local pathways and cycle tracks. There are 20 golf courses within 20 miles including the famous Gleneagles. Other attractions include lochs and river fishing (Salmon, Grayling and Trout Fishing, at cost, licence required), horse riding, mountain climbing, whisky distilleries, castles, parks and gardens to visit. Whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday or a more energetic break, there is something for all ages to enjoy. Within easy driving are Perth, Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Lomond. For guests with small children, toddlers and babies, the owners have put great thought into providing additional extras to make your stay a little easier. Facilities include a travel cot (spare linen available), highchair, changing mat, booster seat, bed guard, baby bath and a baby monitor. Even meal preparation has been considered too, with a hand-held food blender and bottle steriliser on hand. There are no low-level glass doors and all lower units are fitted with child locks. Westburn is truly the ideal retreat for greater peace of mind.

Great for walkers and cyclists of all abilities, from your front door there are many established public footpaths and cycle paths that lead directly out into the heart of rural Perthshire. The River Earn runs through the village and provides the perfect landscape for an afternoon stroll. For a more exhilarating walk, head to the Deil’s Cauldron where the River Lednoch cascades through a rocky gorge. There is a very scenic golf course, fishing, bowling and Loch Earn, 6 miles away, offering sailing and watersports.

For a family day out Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre is a short drive away and has much to offer all ages with a children’s play area, covered walkway to view the wildlife and a restaurant. After spending your day exploring, Westburn offers a spacious, welcoming holiday home to return to with the added benefit of an enclosed garden with a summerhouse where children can play. Crieff, 7 miles, is where you will find several amenities, including a popular delicatessen, cafés and a supermarket, as well as an array of shops. But, perhaps more appealing, is ‘The Famous Grouse whisky distillery’, at Glenturret, where you can take a tour – you might even get a taste! Several events are also held throughout the year, including ‘The Crieff Highland Games’ and autumn’s ‘Drovers’ Tryst Walking Festival’.

You will be in your element in this area if you are a fan of the outdoors, as the mountains call walkers, hikers and cyclists alike. Loch Earn is ideal for water sports and there are plenty of fishing, golfing, cycling and horse riding opportunities in the surrounding area. Speaking of horse riding, based on the farm there is an equestrian eventing facility, amongst 80 acres of wooded parkland, where you could tackle some of the 100 cross country jumps. If you prefer to stay on your own two feet then walking with the wildlife is highly recommended.

If all that outdoor activity leaves you in search of some retail therapy or a good night out, then the city of Perth is just 7 miles away. Here you will be spoilt for choice with places to wine and dine. You could even go to the theatre! A great way to experience the city is to take a boat trip on the River Tay (seasonal). This area has lots to offer, not least its many historic castles, including Scone Palace, Drummond Castle and Garden, Stirling Castle, Doune Castle, Hopetoun House and for fans of the TV series ‘Outlander’, there are numerous locations used in the making of the series. Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow are all easily accessible for day trips. What are you waiting for?

Relax and enjoy a well-deserved break in this idyllic little semi-detached cottage. Set in the tiny hamlet of Kettins just 1½ miles from the market town of Coupar Angus, it is a pastoral delight, with whitewashed walls surrounded by attractive gardens. The row of cottages are set up a few steps from a tiny village green with a small stream meandering past. Inside, the cottage has been tastefully furnished and retains some original features including arched doorways, high ceilings and wooden floors, with a cosy open fire in the living room leading through to a small kitchen/dining room. At the back the sunny sheltered patio slopes upward to a lovely lawn and is perfect for alfresco meals.
A walkers and cyclists paradise there are plenty of waymarked paths through arable countryside of the Vale of Strathmore through Meigle, Ardler and Coupar Angus to the more challenging glens beyond Blairgowrie. Renowned for its soft fruit, there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce, and a good range of shops locally and further afield in Dundee and Perth. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of H.M Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the Pictish Stone Museum are well worth a visit and the cottage is within half an hour of the Cairngorms National Park. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and Pitlochry is within easy reach. Golfers have plenty of courses to choose from including Rosemount and Carnoustie, or explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast. Beach 19 miles. The cottage is the former Coach House to Heath Park, a listed property used by Beatrix Potter in the 1890s. Set in an elevated position on a quiet private road in the Victorian conservation village of Birnam, this cottage has its own garden within the grounds of the owner’s property. Cotlea East Cottage is a real find - a beautifully furnished stone cottage with all the trappings you need for an indulgent and restful holiday with your friends or family. It features gorgeous furnishings and not one, but two, wood burners; one in the cosy living room and one in the dining room. There are also comfortable beds and a brilliant modern wet room, which is also the perfect place fro washing pets down after being out in the glorious countryside surrounding the house. Attached to the owners’ property, the cottage has a large, secluded, fully enclosed garden with fine views over the fields and makes a delightful setting for a barbeque or al fresco meal.
Situated just 3 miles from the small town of Alyth, the property has a wealth of attractions and amenities within easy reach. There are some great golf courses here along with super walks in the Den of Alyth, a wooded glen on the outskirts of the town. A few miles beyond is the bustling market town of Blairgowrie with its good selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Heading west, enjoy a scenic route to the popular town of Pitlochry with its theatre, shops and fish ladder. In the winter months try your hand at skiing at Glenshee, just 20 miles away, or travel a little further and enjoy the stunning scenery of Braemar. Golf, horse riding, hill walking and cycling are all available in abundance in this lovely area.

Situated in the picturesque town of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire, Tayberry Cottage will appeal to couples and families, with outdoor activities, magnificent scenery, great places to eat on your doorstep. Renovated in 2021 to a high standard while maintaining character and charm, this traditional semi-detached stone cottage makes a welcoming and comfortable holiday home at any time of year. The cottage is entered by a small porch into the living/dining room with a wood burner, comfortable seating and dining table. The bright kitchen is fitted with modern appliances and a breakfast bar, well-equipped for preparing a meal. A handy utility room leads to the large shower room, with a glass-screened walk-in shower. On the first floor are two well-presented bedrooms, the main bedroom with a kingsize bed and the second bedroom with twin beds.

Tayberry Cottage is set back from the main street in a quiet location. Whilst we welcome up to two well behaved dogs, please be aware the cottage has no outdoor space available for pet use, however Victoria Park is only 5 minutes’ walk. We’re not able to offer scenic views but the cottage makes up for this with location and charm. A great selection of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and a traditional high street with butchers, bakers and supermarkets, delis and galleries all within a few minutes’ walk. The community run local cinema has an up-to-date programme and is just a short walk from your door. The River Tay passes through the town and there are walks in all directions up into the hills or along the riverside; The Birks of Aberfeldy is a good family walk following a waterfall.

A short drive takes you to the village of Kenmore at the head of Loch Tay, which has shingle beach and breath-taking views down the loch. There are water sports, loch cruises, a friendly local shop and post office, a café, a deli, restaurants and the oldest Inn in Scotland. Croft na Caber Centre, a reconstruction of an Iron Age stilt dwelling built over the water, is ideal for all ages.

The area is well known for outdoor activities, with walking and climbing opportunities - the energetic can attempt Ben Lawers (Perthshire’s highest mountain). At the far end of the loch is Killin and the Falls of Dochart, and a superb drive from here to the Bridge of Balgie leads to the top of Glen Lyon. Golf is widely available throughout the region as well as horse riding, quad biking, cycling and wildlife spotting. To explore further afield, Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Aviemore and Perth make great days out.

The cottage has an enclosed garden to the front and side, filled with plants and flowers and sunny sitting out areas, while inside, the cosy living room with its contemporary wood burner and kitchen/dining room are great places to relax after a day out sightseeing.
Although very quiet, the cottage is only a few minutes’ walk to the town, where you will find lots of interesting shops, cafés, good restaurants and leisure facilities including two championship courses in the town and an abundance of other courses nearby each with its own special character, as well as internationally famous Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie a bit further afield. There are picturesque walks along the River Ericht running through the town, which join up with the Ardblair and Cateran Trails.
Ideally situated for exploring the many delights Perthshire has to offer, whether it’s golf, walking, cycling, or visiting local attractions like Glamis Castle, Scone Palace, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the list is endless. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and the cities of Perth, Dundee or Edinburgh as well as the House of Bruar and Pitlochry are well worth a visit for some retail therapy. Cycling, fishing and tennis are nearby, and excellent hillwalking is available in the Angus Glens. Alternatively, explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast. Train stations are easily accessible in Perth, Dundee and Dunkeld all within 21 miles of the cottage.

What an absolute gem! This gorgeous cottage set within extensive gardens is in a superb location on the banks of the renowned River Tay in an utterly secluded spot, down a hidden beaten track yet within a 10-minute drive of the Fair City of Perth and all its attractions. A perfect choice for families or friends, it has been superbly renovated to provide extremely comfortable accommodation for discerning holidaymakers, with a warm and welcoming interior and tasteful furnishings. Built in the 1800s, the cottage was originally for the river keeper at the world’s first salmon hatchery, and the ruins of the ‘fishponds’ are visible from the garden today. The owners have made the most of the location with careful design of the garden which leads down to the river, allowing direct access to the riverbank trails along the River Tay, and nearby a well-maintained lade trail which boasts a beautiful scenic walk leading to a small isolated natural beach, Horsey Pool and Stanley Mills.

The owners really want you to enjoy your stay and are very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. A nature lover’s paradise, the lade trail offers a rare opportunity to glimpse beavers and otters which are regularly sighted. Other British birds include ospreys, herons, peregrine falcons, woodpeckers, owls and kingfishers, all frequent visitors to the area. The River Tay is of course one of the prime salmon fishing rivers and fishing may be available by arrangement directly with the owner. The area is also abundant in other rivers and lochs all offering outstanding but easily accessible trout and salmon fishing at very reasonable prices.

Of course, you don’t need to be a fisherman to enjoy this cottage. The immediate area has lots more to offer, with Perth itself offering plenty in the way of culture and shopping as well as good restaurants and cafes. St Andrews and Gleneagles, famous for their world-renowned golf courses, are an easy drive with other highly rated local golf courses nearby.

The property is situated on the historic Scone Palace grounds, the crowning place of Scottish kings and the original home of the Stone of Scone, which is open to visitors throughout the year. This is the ideal secluded location for guests to relax and just enjoy privacy, tranquillity and stunning surroundings or to explore all the nearby attractions that Perthshire has to offer.

Escape to the tranquil village of Strathtay with this attractive three bedroom cottage. It is 5 minutes’ walk to the local post office and general store, riverside pub, restaurants and an award-winning chocolatier with coffee shop and gifts. Close by there is a children’s play park. Home grocery deliveries are made by some supermarkets. On the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, the cottage offers a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty, making it the ideal escape from city life. Gushat Cottage, built around 1865, was developed from two separate buildings, cleverly joined together to make a unique family home.
Perfect for a family or group of six, this pleasant home boasts a warm and inviting open plan kitchen and dining area, and a comfortable living room with wood burner. Additional fridge/freezer and drying pulley in the walk-in cupboard off the hall. Sit at the kitchen table and watch the red squirrels and a myriad of birds feeding at the bird table in the secluded garden outside. Enter the cottage via the hallway and to the right is the lovely kitchen with open plan dining area. This leads to a large bright twin bedded room with en-suite walk-in shower and toilet. An attractive stairway leads up to the double bedroom and traditional en-suite bathroom with handheld shower and toilet. Across the hallway to the other side of the house is the living room with feature fireplace and wood burner. Overhead are the original wooden rafters. Another attractive stairway leads to the library with comfortable wing chair, small office desk for reading or catching up on emails. At the end of the living room two steps down lead to the spacious master bedroom and ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom, with large bath, a walk-in overhead shower, and toilet. The cottage is warm and beautifully decorated and is a truly lovely place to stay.
You are surrounded by wonderful walks for all levels, cycling opportunities, golf, and water sports on the River Tay at Grandtully. The popular market town of Aberfeldy is a 15 minute drive west. There you will find the distillery with visitor centre, cafe, tours and tastings, the Co-op supermarket/fuel station and an impressive array of local shops, bars, and restaurants. Don’t miss the famous Watermill bookshop and café. The Birks Community cinema screens the latest film releases. Golf, tennis, and an indoor swimming pool are available, as well as an impressive children’s play park.
Continue 10 miles west and you come to the breathtaking landscapes of Kenmore and Loch Tay with its popular water sports centres and marina. The bustling town of Pitlochry is 9 miles to the east of the cottage and a further 11 miles north is the House of Bruar which attracts visitors and shoppers from far and wide. Nearby castles –Blair and Menzies – add historic interest and cultural events.
