With two stylish bedrooms and beautiful quality furnishings throughout, the high ceilinged open plan living room/kitchen features an eyecatching wood burner flanked by full length picture windows, making the most of the view for the ultimate relaxing experience. Islabank Farmhouse (ref SAAP) is a traditional, characterful, comfortable farmhouse which is ideal for families. Curlew Cottage (ref SYYJ) is a charming, beautifully converted, detached, single-storey property and a haven for wildlife. Still part of the farm but located 4 miles away is Osprey Cottage (ref UZQ), a delightful, light and sunny, single-storey detached cottage.
Set amongst beautiful farmland and fruit-growing country, they make an excellent choice for relaxing breaks in the heart of rural Perthshire. The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. Craigdarroch Cottage is a quaint, newly refurbished coachman’s cottage which dates back some 100 years. It is located in St Fillans in Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. St Fillans is a picturesque village in a tranquil location set on the banks of Loch Earn. The cottage is perfectly positioned for exploring the National Park and the Southern Highlands. Walking, biking, golfing, fishing, and water sports are among the many activities available. Several walks can be taken directly from the cottage; you can stroll along the old railway or venture into the surrounding mountains, both of which give you a stunning view of Loch Earn. There are ospreys on the loch and red squirrels in the nearby area, as well as deer and other wildlife. After a day in the Scottish countryside, you can relax in front of the wood burning stove in the cosy cottage with its loch view.
Offering a fantastic open plan living area with a kitchen, cooker island with breakfast bar, dining table and comfortable sofas surrounding the wood burner. The bedroom is cosy and comfortable guaranteeing a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. A new decking has been built which can be reached by climbing approximately 30 steps and affords a stunning view down the loch. There is a dedicated parking space opposite the property. St Fillans Village Store is located a few minutes’ walk from the cottage where you can buy groceries and newspapers. It also has a cafe providing snacks, coffee, ice cream and cakes. You can purchase fishing permits here for Loch Earn. There are two hotels in the village which offer evening meals if you feel like dining out, and a bar service; both are dog friendly.
St Fillans has its own 9-hole golf course (voted the best 9-hole course in Scotland), each hole is challenging, and the scenery is breath-taking. There are many golf courses to choose from the vicinity including the prestigious Gleneagles. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, and Stirling can all be reached by car within 1 hour 15 minutes.

A perfect choice for families or friends, it has been superbly renovated to provide extremely comfortable accommodation for discerning holidaymakers, with a warm and welcoming interior and tasteful furnishings. Built in the 1800s, the cottage was originally for the river keeper at the world’s first salmon hatchery, and the ruins of the ‘fishponds’ are visible from the garden today. The owners have made the most of the location with careful design of the garden which leads down to the river, allowing direct access to the riverbank trails along the River Tay, and nearby a well-maintained lade trail which boasts a beautiful scenic walk leading to a small isolated natural beach, Horsey Pool and Stanley Mills.

The owners really want you to enjoy your stay and are very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. A nature lover’s paradise, the lade trail offers a rare opportunity to glimpse beavers and otters which are regularly sighted. Other British birds include ospreys, herons, peregrine falcons, woodpeckers, owls and kingfishers, all frequent visitors to the area. The River Tay is of course one of the prime salmon fishing rivers and fishing may be available by arrangement directly with the owner. The area is also abundant in other rivers and lochs all offering outstanding but easily accessible trout and salmon fishing at very reasonable prices.

Of course, you don’t need to be a fisherman to enjoy this cottage. The immediate area has lots more to offer, with Perth itself offering plenty in the way of culture and shopping as well as good restaurants and cafes. St Andrews and Gleneagles, famous for their world-renowned golf courses, are an easy drive with other highly rated local golf courses nearby.

The property is situated on the historic Scone Palace grounds, the crowning place of Scottish kings and the original home of the Stone of Scone, which is open to visitors throughout the year. Ideally suited to either two couples or a small family, the unusual layout features a long living space at the front of the cottage, overlooking the garden and hills beyond. This is a lovely sunny room, with wooden floor and space for dining. Outside, the large, enclosed wrap-around gardens surround the cottage and feature sitting-out areas designed to make the most of the sunshine.

The cottage is just a couple of miles from Bridge of Earn, with a good selection of shops and eateries and with great access links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. The city of Perth is just a 5 mile drive away and has a wealth of tourist and cultural attractions. The cottage is on the border between Perthshire and Fife where golfers are spoilt for choice with Kings Barns and Carnoustie easily reached, and half way between St. Andrews and Glen Eagles. As its name suggests, it is set down the lane to the local church and has wonderful south-facing sunny views towards the fields and hills beyond. There is a cosy open fire in the living room with deep windowsills and a wooden floor. Perfect for family or friends, there is peace and quiet, but also a plethora of things to do in the local area. The market town of Coupar Angus is ¾ mile and within walking distance if you fancy a drink or a bite to eat at the local inn.

The area is perfect for walkers and cyclists, as there are plenty of waymarked paths through arable countryside of the Vale of Strathmore through Meigle, Ardler and Coupar Angus to the more challenging glens beyond Blairgowrie. Renowned for its soft fruit, there are plenty of good cafés and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce and a good range of shops locally and further afield in Dundee and Perth. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, and the Pictish Stone Museum, are well worth a visit, and the cottage is within half an hour of the Cairngorms National Park. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and Pitlochry is within easy reach. Golfers have plenty of courses to choose from including Rosemount and Carnoustie, or explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast.

In the heart of glorious Highland Perthshire, this fabulous lodge is set in a wonderful position overlooking the loch and deer park at Glengoulandie. This small country park covers 35 acres and is situated between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, surrounded by stunning scenery – the famous peak of Schiehallion is just down the road.
Spacious, smart, yet warm and welcoming, the lodge features patio doors from the open plan living/dining and kitchen areas, opening onto a large fully enclosed deck running the full width of the lodge. High ceilings, full length windows and underfloor heating make it a light and airy as well as cosy throughout the year. The loch and surroundings are brimming with wildlife – geese and ducks are resident most of the year and a wide selection of other birds and wildlife are often seen, as well as squirrels, pine marten and of course the deer. There are good walks from the doorstep – take a circular route through the deer farm beyond the loch and back again or try more challenging options up any of the seven Munros within 10 miles; Schiehallion itself or Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the region. Cycling and mountain biking are popular round here, with amazing views and challenging roads.
For a more leisurely day out, visit the pretty conservation village of Kenmore (5 miles) at the northern end of Loch Tay. There are water sports aplenty here such as sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-biking, or if you prefer to stay on dry land fishing, pony trekking and golf. Good eateries and shops will complete a great day out. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes’ drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community-run cinema and an award-winning book shop.
The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles.
