Even meal preparation has been considered too, with a hand-held food blender and bottle steriliser on hand. There are no low-level glass doors and all lower units are fitted with child locks. Great for walkers and cyclists of all abilities, from your front door there are many established public footpaths and cycle paths that lead directly out into the heart of rural Perthshire. The River Earn runs through the village and provides the perfect landscape for an afternoon stroll. For a more exhilarating walk, head to the Deil’s Cauldron where the River Lednoch cascades through a rocky gorge. There is a very scenic golf course, fishing, bowling and Loch Earn, 6 miles away, offering sailing and watersports.

For a family day out Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre is a short drive away and has much to offer all ages with a children’s play area, covered walkway to view the wildlife and a restaurant. The cottage retains much of its original character and has a wonderfully secluded feel, set on high ground and surrounded by nature and an abundance of birds, red squirrel, pheasants, deer and wildlife. Outside there’s a woodland and spacious garden, although you may find it hard to tear your eyes from the stunning views! The outdoor firepit is memorising on a clear night with the twinkly stars. Gardeners’ cottage is a unique property comprising of three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin with an ample shower room on the first floor. On the ground floor there is a sunroom looking onto the enclosed private walled garden, a utility with toilet, the kitchen dining space is well-equipped and lighting can be adjusted to suit the mood.
The living room has a baby grand piano, record player and a wood burner, which makes it ideal for relaxing with friends and family or just reading a book in a tranquil setting. During the summer the walled garden is a treat to behold, there is a seating area and is an enclosed space for dogs and children. There is a spacious lawn to the front of the which is not enclosed so pets or young children will need to be supervised. If you need to work while staying at the cottage there is high speed fibre broadband which has recently been installed.
Located six miles from the historic city of Perth, Gardeners Cottage offers a rural location with forest walks and cycle rides on the doorstep. Also, the lochs and river Tay network provide plenty of opportunities for water sports such as wild swimming, canoeing, white water rafting and stand up paddle boarding.

There are many artisanal food producers, and there is also a vibrant arts scene including Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre, Scone Palace and Birnam Arts Centre and Perthshire Creates to name a few. Located down a quiet country lane between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie, both are a 5-minute drive away, with plenty of good facilities; Blairgowrie has a supermarket, local shops including an award-winning butchers, little cafes and good restaurants. Dundee is a 20-minute drive away and offers a wider range of shops and is home to the V&A museum, Dundee Contemporary Arts and the Discovery and Verdant Works. There is a small airport with flights to and from London City and Belfast City. The Sidlaws is the perfect location to base yourself for exploring the local and surrounding area or just sitting back in the evening and enjoy your magnificent surroundings. The owners have made the most of the location with careful design of the garden which leads down to the river, allowing direct access to the riverbank trails along the River Tay, and nearby a well-maintained lade trail which boasts a beautiful scenic walk leading to a small isolated natural beach, Horsey Pool and Stanley Mills.

The owners really want you to enjoy your stay and are very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. A nature lover’s paradise, the lade trail offers a rare opportunity to glimpse beavers and otters which are regularly sighted. Other British birds include ospreys, herons, peregrine falcons, woodpeckers, owls and kingfishers, all frequent visitors to the area. The River Tay is of course one of the prime salmon fishing rivers and fishing may be available by arrangement directly with the owner. The area is also abundant in other rivers and lochs all offering outstanding but easily accessible trout and salmon fishing at very reasonable prices.

Of course, you don’t need to be a fisherman to enjoy this cottage. The immediate area has lots more to offer, with Perth itself offering plenty in the way of culture and shopping as well as good restaurants and cafes. St Andrews and Gleneagles, famous for their world-renowned golf courses, are an easy drive with other highly rated local golf courses nearby.

There you will find the distillery with visitor centre, cafe, tours and tastings, the Co-op supermarket/fuel station and an impressive array of local shops, bars, and restaurants. Don’t miss the famous Watermill bookshop and café. The Birks Community cinema screens the latest film releases. Golf, tennis, and an indoor swimming pool are available, as well as an impressive children’s play park.
Continue 10 miles west and you come to the breathtaking landscapes of Kenmore and Loch Tay with its popular water sports centres and marina. The bustling town of Pitlochry is 9 miles to the east of the cottage and a further 11 miles north is the House of Bruar which attracts visitors and shoppers from far and wide. Nearby castles –Blair and Menzies – add historic interest and cultural events.
