In the heart of glorious Highland Perthshire, this fabulous lodge is set in a wonderful position overlooking the loch and deer park at Glengoulandie. This small country park covers 35 acres and is situated between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, surrounded by stunning scenery – the famous peak of Schiehallion is just down the road.
Spacious, smart, yet warm and welcoming, the lodge features patio doors from the open plan living/dining and kitchen areas, opening onto a large fully enclosed deck running the full width of the lodge. High ceilings, full length windows and underfloor heating make it a light and airy as well as cosy throughout the year. You will not tire of looking at the water and mountains beyond, with the ever-changing light. Grocery deliveries to the lodge can be arranged by booking an online delivery slot from nearby supermarkets.
The loch and surroundings are brimming with wildlife – geese and ducks are resident most of the year and a wide selection of other birds and wildlife are often seen, as well as squirrels, pine marten and of course the deer. There are good walks from the doorstep – take a circular route through the deer farm beyond the loch and back again or try more challenging options up any of the seven Munros within 10 miles; Schiehallion itself or Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the region. Cycling and mountain biking are popular round here, with amazing views and challenging roads.
For a more leisurely day out, visit the pretty conservation village of Kenmore (5 miles) at the northern end of Loch Tay. There are water sports aplenty here such as sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-biking, or if you prefer to stay on dry land fishing, pony trekking and golf. Good eateries and shops will complete a great day out. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes’ drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community-run cinema and an award-winning book shop.
The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. This area has many historic buildings, castles, and gardens which you can visit to discover the rich history of the area. Shop 9 miles, pub, and restaurant 8 miles.

Just a 60-second walk from Crieff town centre where you will find an abundance of high quality restaurants and local shops. The Crieff Hydro Hotel is less than a 10-minute walk where over 60 activities including archery, air rifles, quad bikes and aerial adventure courses are held.

The cottage is just 5 miles from the pretty town of Aberfeldy where you can find shops, restaurants, public swimming pool and river walks beside the "Birks" or River Tay. In addition, less than 3 miles away you will discover the historic village of Kenmore which has a post office, golf, pub, water sports, iron age settlement and Hotbox outdoor spa all situated at one end of Loch Tay.

The bright and spacious accommodation is furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard and the location is delightfully removed from the business of the world whilst still having lots to do such as walking, climbing Munro’s, exploring the nearby Whisky distillery or metalwork gallery, kayaking, rafting, wild swimming or even enjoying the luxury of our local outdoor Hotbox Spa, on the banks of Loch Tay at nearby Kenmore.

After a busy day exploring the picturesque area or indulging in activities the cottage is the perfect place to return to with showroom standard bathrooms to get refreshed in, a well-equipped kitchen to refuel you, three bright and spacious bedrooms upstairs with ultra-cosy beds, Egyptian cotton bedlinen and blackout blinds/curtains to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The delightful sitting room has a wood burning stove and deep, comfortable sofas, making it a cosy retreat for all seasons and especially during chilly winter evenings with a smart TV and Netflix.
The cottage is surrounded by stunning countryside which is famed for its natural beauty and has French doors leading to the gated garden just across the courtyard through which runs the Keltney Burn (small river), where you can sit and enjoy a barbeque on our Weber BBQ or have your meal on the garden table with a view over the flowing water. (When in the garden we recommend young children are supervised).

Not to be missed is the Fortingall Yew, at 5,000 years it is probably the oldest tree in Europe.
Interestingly, it was already ancient when the Romans came this way and legend has it that Fortingall was the birthplace of Pontius Pilate.

The area is ideal for numerous outdoor pursuits including fishing, golfing, walking, mountain biking and water sports (kayaking, rafting, canyoning). Low level, forest and mountain walks are virtually on the doorstep. Walkers can enjoy everything from level woodland strolls to the challenges of Glen Lyon, one of the loveliest of Scottish glens and teeming with wildlife, including the elusive capercaillie. Mountain bikers have Drummond Hill on the doorstep with miles of tracks whilst, for walkers, the famous nearby Schiehallion (one of many local Munros) can be reached within minutes.

The city of Perth is just a 5 mile drive away and has a wealth of tourist and cultural attractions. The cottage is on the border between Perthshire and Fife where golfers are spoilt for choice with Kings Barns and Carnoustie easily reached, and half way between St. Andrews and Glen Eagles. Escape to the tranquil village of Strathtay with this attractive three bedroom cottage. It is 5 minutes’ walk to the local post office and general store, riverside pub, restaurants and an award-winning chocolatier with coffee shop and gifts. Close by there is a children’s play park. Home grocery deliveries are made by some supermarkets. On the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, the cottage offers a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty, making it the ideal escape from city life. Gushat Cottage, built around 1865, was developed from two separate buildings, cleverly joined together to make a unique family home.
Perfect for a family or group of six, this pleasant home boasts a warm and inviting open plan kitchen and dining area, and a comfortable living room with wood burner. Additional fridge/freezer and drying pulley in the walk-in cupboard off the hall. Sit at the kitchen table and watch the red squirrels and a myriad of birds feeding at the bird table in the secluded garden outside. Enter the cottage via the hallway and to the right is the lovely kitchen with open plan dining area. This leads to a large bright twin bedded room with en-suite walk-in shower and toilet. An attractive stairway leads up to the double bedroom and traditional en-suite bathroom with handheld shower and toilet. You are surrounded by wonderful walks for all levels, cycling opportunities, golf, and water sports on the River Tay at Grandtully. The popular market town of Aberfeldy is a 15 minute drive west. There you will find the distillery with visitor centre, cafe, tours and tastings, the Co-op supermarket/fuel station and an impressive array of local shops, bars, and restaurants. Don’t miss the famous Watermill bookshop and café. The Birks Community cinema screens the latest film releases. Golf, tennis, and an indoor swimming pool are available, as well as an impressive children’s play park.
Continue 10 miles west and you come to the breathtaking landscapes of Kenmore and Loch Tay with its popular water sports centres and marina. The bustling town of Pitlochry is 9 miles to the east of the cottage and a further 11 miles north is the House of Bruar which attracts visitors and shoppers from far and wide. Nearby castles –Blair and Menzies – add historic interest and cultural events.

This gorgeous cottage set within extensive gardens is in a superb location on the banks of the renowned River Tay in an utterly secluded spot, down a hidden beaten track yet within a 10-minute drive of the Fair City of Perth and all its attractions. A perfect choice for families or friends, it has been superbly renovated to provide extremely comfortable accommodation for discerning holidaymakers, with a warm and welcoming interior and tasteful furnishings. Built in the 1800s, the cottage was originally for the river keeper at the world’s first salmon hatchery, and the ruins of the ‘fishponds’ are visible from the garden today. The owners have made the most of the location with careful design of the garden which leads down to the river, allowing direct access to the riverbank trails along the River Tay, and nearby a well-maintained lade trail which boasts a beautiful scenic walk leading to a small isolated natural beach, Horsey Pool and Stanley Mills.

The owners really want you to enjoy your stay and are very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. A nature lover’s paradise, the lade trail offers a rare opportunity to glimpse beavers and otters which are regularly sighted. Other British birds include ospreys, herons, peregrine falcons, woodpeckers, owls and kingfishers, all frequent visitors to the area. The River Tay is of course one of the prime salmon fishing rivers and fishing may be available by arrangement directly with the owner. The area is also abundant in other rivers and lochs all offering outstanding but easily accessible trout and salmon fishing at very reasonable prices.

Of course, you don’t need to be a fisherman to enjoy this cottage. The immediate area has lots more to offer, with Perth itself offering plenty in the way of culture and shopping as well as good restaurants and cafes. St Andrews and Gleneagles, famous for their world-renowned golf courses, are an easy drive with other highly rated local golf courses nearby.

The property is situated on the historic Scone Palace grounds, the crowning place of Scottish kings and the original home of the Stone of Scone, which is open to visitors throughout the year. This is the ideal secluded location for guests to relax and just enjoy privacy, tranquillity and stunning surroundings or to explore all the nearby attractions that Perthshire has to offer.

These three properties are situated in a peaceful wooded area with walks right from the doorstep and numerous roe deer around, yet only 2½ miles from the village of Dunkeld with its shops, ancient fountain and cathedral. Osprey Cottage (ref 15885) has been converted to create a super holiday retreat with rugs on polished wooden floors upstairs in the living areas, and cosy bedrooms below. Heather Croft (ref 26213) is a detached bungalow nearby, cleverly designed by the owners with lots of windows to maximize views of the surrounding countryside. The But ‘n’ Ben (ref 28139) is a charming converted barn for two. An ideal choice whatever the weather. Next door to Dunkeld is Birnam, home of the Beatrix Potter exhibition and where there are riverside walks along the Tay. An 18-hole golf course is 1½ miles away beside the Loch of Lowes Wildlife Reserve. There are walks and cycle tracks in the bordering forest. Fishing locally. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.

This lovely, semi-detached holiday property is in a peaceful, rural setting, overlooking the Sidlaw Hills in the Vale of Strathmore.
