Riversdale Cottage is an attractive detached cottage with a lovely garden for sitting out on sunny days. Just a few minutes walk to the conservation village of St Fillans on the shores of Loch Earn with a shop, coffee shop and two hotels serving quality food, wine, ales and whisky. Situated within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular
scenery of mountains and lochs and there is so much to do to suit all tastes. From the cottage you can walk into the countryside, cycle along the loch side or on the official cycle path towards Comrie.

The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, is adjacent and features a
challenging 9-hole course - one of the many courses in the area. Loch Earn offers water sports, fishing and small lochside beaches for paddling and picnics. For days out, visit the roaring Falls of Dochart at Killin, or Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre near Comrie. The pretty tourist town of Callander is well worth a visit with an abundance of eclectic shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs. For guests interested in history and culture, there are ancient monuments and castles to visit, whisky distilleries and tales of folklore and clans in the area.

You may prefer to just relax on your holiday and Riversdale is cosy and welcoming. All on the ground floor, the kitchen is well equipped with contemporary appliances, a cosy living room with dining table is perfect for relaxing with a book on a lazy afternoon. The family shower room has a large walk in shower cubicle and there are two attractively furnished bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and the other with twin beds. There is ample outside space including a seating area providing the perfect spot for afternoon tea where you can listen to the river flow by and look out for wild birds, red squirrels and sometimes a visiting deer. The cottage retains much of its original character and has a wonderfully secluded feel, set on high ground and surrounded by nature and an abundance of birds, red squirrel, pheasants, deer and wildlife. Outside there’s a woodland and spacious garden, although you may find it hard to tear your eyes from the stunning views! The outdoor firepit is memorising on a clear night with the twinkly stars. Stable Cottage has been completely renovated in 2021 and refurbished providing excellent contemporary, cosy and an inviting holiday venue specifically designed for a couple. All on one level and immaculately presented throughout, the dining/kitchen has everything you require to prepare a romantic meal, relax in the cosy living room with wood burner, Smart TV and French door leading to a private garden with seating. A quiet reading room is ideal for meditation or finishing your holiday novel. There is an attractively presented kingsize bedroom with an en-suite shower room along with a bathroom.
From your doorstep there are miles of quiet footpaths and cycle tracks to explore, and there are opportunities for many other outdoor activities including climbing, hill walking, fishing and water sports on Loch Earn. For nature-lovers, the estate and area are a haven for wildlife. Look out for otters, pine martens and stoats; deer can be seen in the wood and field, and wild birds include, siskins, nuthatches, house martins, woodpeckers, buzzards and red kites. Located in the picturesque conservation village of Comrie, on the River Earn and in the heart of rural Perthshire, Arden House is perfect for couples and families as holiday base. Dating back to the 1820s, this semi-detached property was home to the Co-operative manager during the 1900s. It was then purchased by the current owners in the 1970s, and recently refurbished in 2021. The house maintains many of the original features and character and is a comfortable and welcoming holiday home at any time of the year. The ground floor is taken up with a spacious living room, the real hub of the house, which has cosy seating. A dining room leads off there, and there is also a modern fitted kitchen. The back door leads to a small courtyard with seating and a barbeque for al fresco eating. The first floor has three well-presented, spacious bedrooms: one kingsize, one double and one twin. The family shower room offers a large walk-in shower.
Step outside and the local pub, cafés and restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away. If you’re planning to cook, the village is known for its quality local butcher, greengrocer, baker and deli, and there is also a small supermarket. The whole area is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast and boasts many walks right from the front door, as well as cycle routes on quiet track to explore. Nearby Lochearn offers water sports. If you like a round of golf on holiday there is a local 9-hole course and many others in the area, including the championship courses at Gleneagles.
A little further afield Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre appeals to all ages, and is home to great fly-fishing ponds. The tourist town of Crieff is only a 7-mile drive, with a famous whisky distillery, visitor’s centre and historic buildings. Drummond Castle makes for a superb day out, dating back to the 17th century and sitting amidst stunning gardens which were used in the filming of the epic TV series ‘Outlander’. Stirling and Perth are only 25 miles away. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing escape to unwind with gentle riverside walks surrounded by magnificent scenery and fine places to eat out, or an adventure packed family Arden House is the perfect base.

Situated on a quiet lane the bright accommodation is beautifully presented throughout and provides an ideal base for couples and families. The spacious open plan living area is the hub of the cottage where everyone can gather together, it has comfortable seating and a wood burner to gather around, the contemporary well-equipped kitchen is where you can prepare a family meal and then sit round the dining table and plan the next day’s activities. If you are planning to eat out on your holiday Crieff has a varied selection of places to eat, an excellent deli and café selling local produce if you are planning to cook, craft shops, galleries and supermarkets. The town hosts regular events throughout the year including The Crieff Highland Games and the autumn Drovers Walking Festival and farmers market. Perthshire is well known for outdoor activities for all ages. More strenuous activities in the mountains such as Ben Vorlich, Ben Chonzie and Ben Lawers provide challenging walks. Nearby Loch Earn has water sports as well as mountain biking at nearby Comrie Croft. There are gentle strolls by the riverside along the banks of the River Earn and Turret from the front door and the local park has a children’s play area. Discover the history of Crieff with tales of the outlaws and the Jacobite rebellion, visit historic castles and monuments and if you have been following the TV series ’Outlander’, Drummond Castle gardens are within 5 miles, as are plenty of the locations used in the series, including Doune Castle and Hopetoun House all within driving distance. For a family day out Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre is a short drive with a children’s play area.
