These three properties are situated in a peaceful wooded area with walks right from the doorstep and numerous roe deer around, yet only 2½ miles from the village of Dunkeld with its shops, ancient fountain and cathedral. Osprey Cottage (ref 15885) has been converted to create a super holiday retreat with rugs on polished wooden floors upstairs in the living areas, and cosy bedrooms below. Heather Croft (ref 26213) is a detached bungalow nearby, cleverly designed by the owners with lots of windows to maximize views of the surrounding countryside. The But ‘n’ Ben (ref 28139) is a charming converted barn for two. An ideal choice whatever the weather. Next door to Dunkeld is Birnam, home of the Beatrix Potter exhibition and where there are riverside walks along the Tay. An 18-hole golf course is 1½ miles away beside the Loch of Lowes Wildlife Reserve. There are walks and cycle tracks in the bordering forest. Fishing locally. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.

Set in a great central location with very easy access to the whole of central Scotland, Maryland Cottage has been lovingly furnished and decorated to ensure a very comfortable and relaxing break. Ideally suited to either two couples or a small family, the unusual layout features a long living space at the front of the cottage, overlooking the garden and hills beyond. This is a lovely sunny room, with wooden floor and space for dining. Outside, the large, enclosed wrap-around gardens surround the cottage and feature sitting-out areas designed to make the most of the sunshine.

The cottage is just a couple of miles from Bridge of Earn, with a good selection of shops and eateries and with great access links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. The city of Perth is just a 5 mile drive away and has a wealth of tourist and cultural attractions. The cottage is on the border between Perthshire and Fife where golfers are spoilt for choice with Kings Barns and Carnoustie easily reached, and half way between St. Andrews and Glen Eagles. But if golf is not your thing, the pretty East Neuk is full of quaint fishing villages - a perfect place for a day out by the sea. Beach 25 miles.

Relax and enjoy a peaceful break in this newly converted cottage in the heart of the tiny hamlet of Kettins. As its name suggests, it is set down the lane to the local church and has wonderful south-facing sunny views towards the fields and hills beyond. There is a cosy open fire in the living room with deep windowsills and a wooden floor. Perfect for family or friends, there is peace and quiet, but also a plethora of things to do in the local area. The market town of Coupar Angus is ¾ mile and within walking distance if you fancy a drink or a bite to eat at the local inn.

The area is perfect for walkers and cyclists, as there are plenty of waymarked paths through arable countryside of the Vale of Strathmore through Meigle, Ardler and Coupar Angus to the more challenging glens beyond Blairgowrie. Renowned for its soft fruit, there are plenty of good cafés and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce and a good range of shops locally and further afield in Dundee and Perth. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, and the Pictish Stone Museum, are well worth a visit, and the cottage is within half an hour of the Cairngorms National Park. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and Pitlochry is within easy reach. Golfers have plenty of courses to choose from including Rosemount and Carnoustie, or explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast.

This small country park covers 35 acres and is situated between Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, surrounded by stunning scenery – the famous peak of Schiehallion is just down the road.
Spacious, smart, yet warm and welcoming, the lodge features patio doors from the open plan living/dining and kitchen areas, opening onto a large fully enclosed deck running the full width of the lodge. High ceilings, full length windows and underfloor heating make it a light and airy as well as cosy throughout the year. Grocery deliveries to the lodge can be arranged by booking an online delivery slot from nearby supermarkets.
The loch and surroundings are brimming with wildlife – geese and ducks are resident most of the year and a wide selection of other birds and wildlife are often seen, as well as squirrels, pine marten and of course the deer. There are good walks from the doorstep – take a circular route through the deer farm beyond the loch and back again or try more challenging options up any of the seven Munros within 10 miles; Schiehallion itself or Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the region. Cycling and mountain biking are popular round here, with amazing views and challenging roads.
For a more leisurely day out, visit the pretty conservation village of Kenmore (5 miles) at the northern end of Loch Tay. There are water sports aplenty here such as sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-biking, or if you prefer to stay on dry land fishing, pony trekking and golf. Good eateries and shops will complete a great day out. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes’ drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community-run cinema and an award-winning book shop.
The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. In the heart of Perthshire and set against a backdrop of mountains, hills and beautiful countryside on the historic Dunira Estate, just outside of the conservation village of Comrie. Located in a quadrangle where the buildings once housed the stables and workers quarters and garage.
Stable Cottage has been completely renovated in 2021 and refurbished providing excellent contemporary, cosy and an inviting holiday venue specifically designed for a couple. All on one level and immaculately presented throughout, the dining/kitchen has everything you require to prepare a romantic meal, relax in the cosy living room with wood burner, Smart TV and French door leading to a private garden with seating. A quiet reading room is ideal for meditation or finishing your holiday novel. There is an attractively presented kingsize bedroom with an en-suite shower room along with a bathroom.
From your doorstep there are miles of quiet footpaths and cycle tracks to explore, and there are opportunities for many other outdoor activities including climbing, hill walking, fishing and water sports on Loch Earn. For nature-lovers, the estate and area are a haven for wildlife. Look out for otters, pine martens and stoats; deer can be seen in the wood and field, and wild birds include, siskins, nuthatches, house martins, woodpeckers, buzzards and red kites. Riversdale Cottage is an attractive detached cottage with a lovely garden for sitting out on sunny days. Just a few minutes walk to the conservation village of St Fillans on the shores of Loch Earn with a shop, coffee shop and two hotels serving quality food, wine, ales and whisky. Situated within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular
scenery of mountains and lochs and there is so much to do to suit all tastes. From the cottage you can walk into the countryside, cycle along the loch side or on the official cycle path towards Comrie.

The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, is adjacent and features a
challenging 9-hole course - one of the many courses in the area. Loch Earn offers water sports, fishing and small lochside beaches for paddling and picnics. For days out, visit the roaring Falls of Dochart at Killin, or Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre near Comrie. The pretty tourist town of Callander is well worth a visit with an abundance of eclectic shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs. For guests interested in history and culture, there are ancient monuments and castles to visit, whisky distilleries and tales of folklore and clans in the area.

You may prefer to just relax on your holiday and Riversdale is cosy and welcoming. All on the ground floor, the kitchen is well equipped with contemporary appliances, a cosy living room with dining table is perfect for relaxing with a book on a lazy afternoon.
