The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. In a splendid location in highland Perthshire, Frith View overlooks the lochan and deer park. This is the perfect location for friends and family to spend time together and explore this area of natural beauty. It is a spacious and bright contemporary detached lodge furnished to an excellent standard. The living areas have floor to ceiling windows so you can take advantage of the ever changing views. Patio doors lead to the private decked area and is ideal for watching the stars at night. The country park, which comprises of several holiday lodges and is accessed via a rough track, covers 35 acres with a lochan that is a haven for wildlife all year round. A great location for exploring the great outdoors there are activities to suit all. For the energetic, there are seven munros to climb within 10 miles, including Ben Lawers, Perthshire’s highest mountain. Schiehallion, Dun Beag and Dun Coillich can be seen from Frith View. It is also ideal countryside for cycling and mountain biking in the forests.

For a day out, and only 5 miles along the road at the end of Loch Tay, is the pretty conservation village of Kenmore where guests can enjoy riverside walks, participate in water sports, take a boat trip on the loch or discover several excellent places to eat. The Croft na Caber Centre, which is a reconstruction of an Iron Age stilt dwelling built over the water is one of the most renowned watersports centres in Scotland. The village hosts regular events, each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season, as the Tay is one of the finest angling rivers, and there is a firework display at New Year. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community run cinema and an award-winning book shop. The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. Riversdale Cottage is an attractive detached cottage with a lovely garden for sitting out on sunny days. Just a few minutes walk to the conservation village of St Fillans on the shores of Loch Earn with a shop, coffee shop and two hotels serving quality food, wine, ales and whisky. Situated within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular
scenery of mountains and lochs and there is so much to do to suit all tastes. From the cottage you can walk into the countryside, cycle along the loch side or on the official cycle path towards Comrie.

The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, is adjacent and features a
challenging 9-hole course - one of the many courses in the area. Loch Earn offers water sports, fishing and small lochside beaches for paddling and picnics. For days out, visit the roaring Falls of Dochart at Killin, or Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre near Comrie. The pretty tourist town of Callander is well worth a visit with an abundance of eclectic shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs. Westacre Lodge is a lovely bright and spacious detached house set within the grounds of the owner. Surrounded by stunning views of the local countryside just a five-minute drive to the historic market town of Crieff.
As you enter this lovely, gated property you come into the fully equipped kitchen with an adjacent dining room. Head into the welcoming bright living room, offering far reaching views of the fields and mountains in the distance. This house is perfect anytime of the year, especially for a winter break when you can snuggle up in front of the large wood burner. Beautifully decorated throughout with stripped pine doors and oak flooring throughout the downstairs. Along the hall you will find a shower room and a lovely twin bedroom; upstairs there is a modern bathroom with a shower over bath and a large double bedroom with a kingsize bed, upstairs offers lovely views from every window.
Westacre Lodge is set in Auchterarder, just 13 miles from Gleneagles and 10.6 miles from Tibbermore Church. Set in a peaceful setting and offering lovely walks on the doorstep. Westacre Lodge has a good size private garden which is enclosed and offers a lovely seating area where you can relax and enjoy the long summer days and evenings. There is an open pond at the front of the property.

There are good walks from the doorstep – take a circular route through the deer farm beyond the loch and back again or try more challenging options up any of the seven Munros within 10 miles; Schiehallion itself or Ben Lawers, the highest mountain in the region. Cycling and mountain biking are popular round here, with amazing views and challenging roads.
