Set on a working farm with cattle and sheep, the owner will arrange a private tour of a modern day dairy for guests, by prior arrangement. If you enjoy fishing then complimentary permits are available (by prior arrangement) on the owners private stretch of Endrick River nearby.
A perfect location for nature lovers and to explore one of Scotland’s most picturesque areas with lochs, mountains and spectacular scenery. If you enjoy outdoor activities, there is walking, cycling, golf, fishing, pony trekking and water sports nearby, as well as the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Track 7, both of which pass close by. The Trossachs Discovery Centre is well worth a visit where you can learn more about this exciting area, there are cruise trips on both Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine. In the surrounding area there are some excellent places for food and drink, the famous Nick Nairn Cook School is only 10 minutes’ drive, there are several whisky distilleries within 30 minutes’ drive and restaurants, cafés and farm shops. This area is steeped in history, Stirling is 18 miles away with its ancient castle, Wallace monument and Bannockburn Visitor Centre, along with many historic links to people such as Rob Roy Macgregor, William Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots, all of whom had a part to play in the history of this area. There are lots of film locations to be visited within a short drive including Doune Castle which became the fictional Castle Leoch.
The Ploughmans is a semi-detached cottage, ideal for a couple or a small family. On the ground floor there is a comfortable living room and French doors that lead into the well-kept garden, offering the perfect spot to sit, relax and enjoy the views, escaping from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is an open plan kitchen/dining room where you can prepare that special meal. On the first floor there is a spacious double bedroom, a twin bedroom and family bathroom.
The Stables provides easy access with a comfortable double bedroom and wet room on the ground floor. The spacious cosy living room has patio doors leading to the garden making it perfect for al fresco dining in the summer months or just relaxing and admiring the views. The large kitchen/dining room is well-equipped and all guests can comfortably sit around the table and plan their next day’s adventures. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and a large family bathroom with bath and shower cubicle.

The lodges are very tastefully furnished throughout and offer guests a high level of comfort. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with some amazing walks and cycle tracks straight from your front door. Livery is available if you want to bring your horse or pony on holiday and there is hacking from the property. The town of Dollar is only 1½ miles always and offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. This is an perfect location for exploring the area, with many visitor attractions close by including Castle Campbell and The Japanese Garden in Dollar and Scone Palace in Perth. While Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow are all within 40 minutes drive. Beach 21 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

It is steeped in history and folklore with the famous outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor’s grave in the grounds of the parish church at Balquhidder and there are many other archaeological and historic sites to visit in the surrounding area including Doune and Stirling castles, the Wallace Monument and Inchmahome Priory. The popular tourist town of Callander is within easy driving distance and has an abundance of coffee shops, pubs, galleries, local shops and restaurants. An all year round destination, the town hosts summer and winter festivals, highland games and a jazz festival. For days out, Stirling, with its historic monuments, ancient castle and shopping centre is a mere 45 minutes’ drive. A great location for exploring the local area, Stirling is only 6 miles away and offers guests an abundance of historic and popular attractions to visit and explore, including Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Stirling has something to suit all ages and tastes with many popular events held at the Toll Booth and Albert Halls. There is a regular Farmers Market offering local produce, as well as many various pubs, restaurants and a shopping centre. For fans of the epic TV series Outlander there are several places to visit that were used in the filming, Doune Castle is only 15 minutes’ drive and others can be reached in under an hour.
For the kids in particular. there are Blair Drummond Safari Park, Briarlands Farm Park and Stirling Alpaca Centre all within 5 miles.

The motorway network is only 10 minutes away and less than an hour takes you to the vibrant cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. If you would prefer to leave the car then Stirling railway station has a frequent regular service.
