These three well appointed, semi-detached properties, two of which provide ground floor accommodation, and the third providing open plan upside-down living, lie in the hamlet of Middleton Scriven, only 5 miles from Bridgnorth, the historic Shropshire town best known for being a town of two halves: the High Town with good views down which Charles I declared to be the finest in all the kingdom, and the Low Town with good views up. They are now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain.
Bridgnorth is fortunate to have many attractions scattered around its luscious countryside. You can have an unforgettable day’s time travel by steam railway. Just a short car journey takes you to the world famous Ironbridge and its popular museums, The Royal Air Force Museum and Boscobel House. A few miles upstream of Bridgnorth is Shrewsbury, England’s finest Tudor town, which has one of the best waterfronts, a wide variety of shops, bars and a riverside theatre. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston Hall, Rays Farm Country Matters, Much Wenlock, West Midland Safari Park, Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow are also well worth a visit. Golf and horse riding are available locally. Shops 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Just 4 miles is the centre of Bridgnorth, with its castle ruins, fantastic river and countryside views, two railways, one steam and one funicular railway, and a good selection of shops bars and restaurants. Shropshire has many quaint towns and villages to visit including Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all are accessible within a 30-minute drive. Activity centres are dotted around the county offering anything from clay shooting, high ropes and canoeing to mountain biking and Segway and quad trekking. Nearby is also the historical National Trust Attingham Park, Wenlock Edge and Cardingmill Valley, as well as Stokesay and Ludlow castles. The Secret Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott Working Farm are great for children, and the glider centre on the Long Mynd and horse racing at Ludlow are also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles. Local pub in Morville, 1.5 mile walk (cross country and hilly terrain, so get your walking boots on!)

Accessed over the Clee Hills, the highest peaks in Shropshire, the journey to Fourwinds has some of the most amazing views in the county. Once at the property, which is attached to the owner’s home, you will be welcomed by a cosy wood burner. Recently renovated in 2018 while keeping its rustic charm with wooden beams, it provides comfortable furnishing throughout and is ideal for couples or small families. Outside, the private sitting-out area is enclosed and beyond there are 5 acres of woodland that guests are free to explore.
Guests here have the advantage of not only being able to access all areas of Shropshire, but also Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Kidderminster. The nearest town is Ludlow, a medieval town with a castle, racecourse and festivals throughout the year. Attractions nearby include West Midland Safari Park, Wyre Forest, Severn Valley railway and the Bridgnorth funicular railway, Ironbridge Gorge and museums. High rope courses, clay shooting, mountain boarding, canoeing and fishing are all available in Shropshire. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 1 mile.

The lodge itself is a converted, small L-shape property all set on one level. An open plan layout with a kitchen with all the mod cons, a large dining area big enough for six and a light spacious lounge with a wood burner, excellent too cosy up next to after your long county walks or the colder nights.
There are also two good sized bedrooms and a shared bathroom. To the right of the property you will find a small secure paddock with picnic benches where you can sit and have a morning coffee reading the paper and planning your day.
The lodge also has a hard tennis court so don’t forget your racket!
