These attractive holiday properties lie in the peaceful conservation village of Colerne, surrounded by rolling countryside. The Grade II* listed stable conversion (PFFH) is part of the only longhouse in Wiltshire and dating back to the 13th century, is the oldest house in the village. Beautifully refurbished to offer all modern conveniences, yet retains charm and character. Sympathetically converted, the detached, single-storey barn (PHHF) offers light and airy, contemporary accommodation. Colerne has a good selection of shops and pubs but only a short bus journey, 7 miles, will take you into Bath and Chippenham. The Cider Barn is decorated and furnished to a very high standard by the owners who have years of experience in the hospitality industry, and the attention to detail is evident in every room.
Downstairs is a fabulous open plan living space, with wonderful Bi-folding doors that open to allow the outside in and giving you great views over the Blackdown hills. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need and the island unit opens it up to the rest of the room, so you can socialise while creating your next culinary masterpiece! The large Master bedroom on the ground floor has a stunning four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower, while upstairs the second large bedroom features a wonderful kingsize bespoke bed, beautiful beamed vaulted ceiling and statement lighting. There is also a shower room upstairs with walk-in shower.
Outside you will find a Mediterranean style covered seating area complete with its own chandelier, barbecue area and private hot tub, all soaking up the wonderful views!
Set in the lovely village of Bishopswood, with the Somerset Wildlife Trust running adjacent to the property, you are only 5-minutes’ walk from the local pub and surrounded by miles of beautiful walks. The market town of Honiton is just 10 miles away and the beach at Lyme Regis can be reached within a 30-minute drive. Heading north, you will find the county town of Taunton with lots of restaurants, cinema, bowling and shopping, and within an hour’s drive you will find Glastonbury, Street, Minehead and the moors of Exmoor! Moorlands is a wonderful holiday home located in the charming village of Chilcompton, refurbished in 2022 to provide luxurious accommodation, perfect for all the family!


Pull into your driveway where Moorlands awaits you, step inside the hallway where the vaulted double height ceiling floods the room with light. There is a piano and reading nook to be enjoyed here.


The spacious living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with wonderful views from the large patio doors over the garden. The living area has stunning feature wallpaper, lighting, comfortable yet stylish seating and an awesome real flame gas fireplace.


The dining area has a large table with ample seating and statement lighting while the fabulous well-equipped kitchen which includes a boiling water tap, wine fridge and designer extractor, shows the high level of fixtures and fittings you can expect. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and a door leading to the garden with a terrace, perfect for your morning cuppa.


A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer can be found on the ground floor.


Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms which all lead off the galleried landing, one is a super king size bed which can be twin beds on request, one with a king size bed, one with double bed and another with double bed and single bunk on top. The two family bathrooms can be found on this floor, one with a large walk-in shower and the other, a large walk-in shower and stunning stone pebble shaped bath. Both bathrooms have been finished to the highest standard and offer luxury living. A hot tub can be hired (at a cost) with prior arrangement with the owner giving an extra feel of luxury to enjoy a little bit of R&R.


Heading outside, the extremely large garden is mainly laid to lawn, with 2 wonderful seating areas to enjoy. There is space for all the family to play endless games while around the side is a lovely vegetable garden which guests are welcome to use, and a hot and cold dog wash is provided for your convenience. A beautiful river runs around the garden of the property and care has been taken to enclose the garden, but children and animals should be supervised at all times.


Set between the cities of Bath and Wells, you will never tire of things to do while staying here! Bath with its fabulous architecture, riverside cafes, boutique shops and spas is a delightful day out, as is England’s smallest cathedral city of Wells with its outdoor market, cafés, and restaurants. Glastonbury is within easy reach with its ancient medieval charm and Tor, where you can see for miles and miles from the top. Head to Street’s designer outlet, Clarks Village, and grab a bargain. Wookey Hole Caves are a great day out for all the family and Cheddar Gorge and caves makes for a great day and has cheese, what more could you ask for! Pub and restaurant 704 yards.

Old Orchard Barn - The Annexe is a beautiful converted property in the heart of Buckland St Mary, a gorgeous Somerset village, yet within easy access to the A303. Inside it has been lovingly converted as a relaxing holiday retreat for two to feature a cosy living area with electric wood burner and Smart TV, although with the large windows gazing out over the rolling fields you may never need to switch it on! The living room is open plan with the kitchen although this is up a step, giving it a slightly separate feel. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, and there is a wonderful dining area making the most of the views. Into the bedroom you have an oak kingsize bed with bamboo mattress, Egyptian cotton bedding and an oak dressing table, as well as a hanging area for your clothes, off the bedroom there is a fabulously colourful en-suite with shower cubicle. Outside there is a private garden area with seating and views, perfect for a glass of wine as the sun goes down, there is also a private outdoor swimming pool available from 10am until 4pm (May-Sep only) and shared use of the tennis court - bring your own tennis rackets and tennis shoes (white soles only).
The property is located within the Blackdown Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Somerset, Devon and Dorset border. There are some beautiful walks in the area, and a Covid-19 secure country public house less than ½ mile away, as well as an Italian restaurant ½ mile in the other direction.
It is set between the market town of Chard, with its shops and museums, and the larger county town of Taunton with its bustling shopping centre, restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities. There are many tourist attractions to visit, from woodland walks to National Trust estates such as Barrington Court and Montacute House. The Quantocks and Exmoor National Park are within easy driving, and for a trip back in time, travel from Taunton along the West Somerset Steam Railway to Minehead.
Further afield you have the Jurassic Coast beaches of Lyme Regis and West Bay, as well as some of Somerset’s great places to visit. Guests can drive to Glastonbury Tor for an exhilarating walk to the top with some magnificent views of Somerset, perhaps calling in at The Clarkes Factory Village and Wells Cathedral and Palace, or head into the other direction into Devon and visit the city of Exeter and have lunch on the quays! Welcome to The Old Strawberry Barn Studios, a delightful collection of 4 fully refurbished studio apartments alongside the owner’s cottage, which dates back to 1708. Tucked away on the edge of the famous Somerset town of Cheddar but only 10 minutes’ walk from the world-famous Gorge, the studios offer the perfect mix of rural location with great pubs and places to visit within walking distance. Each of these thoughtfully designed studios offer an open plan living experience, with the kitchenettes having full size induction hobs, electric ovens, fridges and breakfast bars. The main living area has a double bed, smart TV and shower room. Each studio offers stunning views towards Cheddar Reservoir, Glastonbury Tor and across Somerset. They have been decorated beautifully to give each an individual finish. Orchard View (UK34417) and Meadow View (UK34416) are both set on the ground floor and are dog friendly, each offering direct access to the walled garden with seating areas. Beyond this is our apple and pear orchard which allows for additional places to enjoy the sunshine. We have 3 friendly dogs of our own (2 black labs and a labradoodle) and as the large lower garden is shared, we may not be the ideal location for nervous or reactive dogs. Tor View (UK34415) and Lake View (UK34414) are both first floor studios and also have access to the garden via a shared walkway. Seating to the front of the studios under an established cherry blossom tree is also available. Orchard View and Lake View have an interconnecting door via an internal staircase meaning these can be booked together for a party of 4 people.
These wonderful apartments are set in a magnificent location, just a stone’s throw from the Mendip Hills, popular with walkers. Access to the Mendips is within 2-3 minutes’ walk from the property. Cheddar town centre, famous for its cheese making, and Cheddar Gorge are all within easy walking distance as well as a myriad of local pubs (5-7 minutes’ walk), restaurants and shops. You have the option to leave the car alone for your trip and explore the area on foot or cycle if you wish – the Strawberry line cycle path is again just 2-3 minutes away and allows you to ride to The Railway Inn adjacent to the home of Thatchers Cider and owned by the family. Further afield yet within easy driving distance, you have the traditional seaside towns of Weston Super Mare and Burnham on Sea, the factory retail shopping outlet, Clarks Village in Street or head to Glastonbury and climb the Tor (which you can see from the aptly named Tor View). A gated driveway allows for secure parking and cycle storage. The reservoir, only 5 minutes away, provides a 2-mile circular waterside walk. The UK top 50 golf links at Burnham and Berrow is 20 minutes away with courses at Wedmore and Mendip Springs even closer. Wagtails is a luxurious property, totally dog-focused and ideal for families or couples, located just outside the village of Langford Budville. Set between woodland and open countryside with panoramic views of the Blackdown Hills in the lovely vale of Taunton Deane on the Somerset/Devon border.
This wonderful property is warm, spacious and homely, furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout, with everything you would need for your doggy holiday. There is a utility room and an adjacent outside hot doggy shower, equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, throws (for use on sofas and chairs), towels, poo bags, treats and toys. The living room has comfy seating for you and your dogs, an electric fire and a 50" Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a freezer that can be used for raw food.
Outside, the humans can relax in the private hot tub, even in the winter months, or in the large double-ended bath. For the younger guests, there is a cot, highchair and stairgate available. There is a den room with toys and books, and a shared park close by with swings and slides. Wagtails provides everything you would need for your dogs and the family. The garden is well-fenced and has a large patio area with seating, a coal barbecue and a food serving area. The garden is private with views over the open countryside. The hot tub area also has seating and plastic glasses are supplied so you can sip sundowners whilst in the hot tub on summer evenings.
Adjoining a 200-acre nature reserve, offering beautiful country walks from the doorstep and further afield on the Blackdowns, Quantocks and Exmoor. A walking guide and a list of dog-friendly pubs can be found in the cottage. A dog-friendly café is a 5-minute walk up the track, serving freshly baked cakes, cream teas and tasty light lunches. The dog-friendly village pub is a 10-minute walk and offers real ales, open fires and good food.
Nearby places to discover include The Blackdown Hills with the recently restored monument, the town of Wellington with lots of independent cafés and shops, as well as Exmoor National Park. Minehead and North Devon, with sandy beaches, are within easy reach. Taunton is within 10 miles, and the city of Exeter is approximately 22 miles, brimming with history and heritage, and it offers many visitor attractions to keep you entertained for hours on end. For the keen cyclists there are endless routes along the Somerset levels and bike store with freezer is provided at the cottage. From your front door you are surrounded by countryside walks, nature reserve as well as the well renowned local pub The Sheppey, within walking distance, where you may even spot a famous face or two while sampling the fabulous menu. Head to Street for some retail therapy at Clarks Village, spend a day in Cheddar with its famous Gorge or perhaps meet the Witch of Wookey at Wookey Hole Caves!

You needn’t venture far with glorious countryside walks or cycle routes from the door along with a couple of good local Inns within a short distance from Otters Holt. The pretty town of Wellington is just a few miles away and offers a great range of independent shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as an award-winning park. Wellington was also named in The Times in 2021 as the 3rd best place to live in the Britain, and so is well worth a visit. If you do venture further afield you will be impressed by the abundance of great spots to visit, from the stunning natural beauty of Exmoor National Park to the wonderful Quantock Hills, and if fresh sea air is on your list the stunning North Devon Coast is within an hour’s drive and is ideal for surfing, kite surfing for the more adventurous!
The Jurassic coastline and picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its independent shops, restaurants and fossil hunting opportunities is less than 1 hour drive. Further South the beaches and seaside towns of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Teignmouth are all within easy reach.

Welcome to Crickledown, a gorgeous detached holiday home, perfect for families to get together for some quality time in a fabulous space and location! When you pull into the driveway and Crickledown appears in front of you, you will fall in love straight away.

Inside this large, yet wonderfully laid out home, you have a beautiful entrance way with feature staircase and chandelier, a huge lounge with superb fireplace and woodburning stove, Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. A second lounge/snug has a Smart TV and is a great space for the kids to have their own fun. The spacious Kitchen has a large Aga for cooking, electric hob, dishwasher and fridge as well as a breakfast area. Off the kitchen is the grand dining room with plenty of seating for everyone. From the kitchen you also have access to the utility room with large fridge/freezer and washing machine. Crickledown is set in the village of High Ham, just 3 miles from Langport. The Somerset levels are easily accessible as are many of Somersets other attractions. The towns of Taunton, Yeovil and Glastonbury are reached in under 30 minutes by car, with the latter being of note for its ancient historical links and of course the Tor which can be seen from Crickledowns windows. National Trust properties abound nearby and a fun day out for the family can be had on the West Somerset Steam Railway which runs from Bishops Lydeard to the seaside town of Minehead.
