    These beautifully restored barn conversions (ref UKC3357 and ref UKC3358) are peacefully located in the delightful hamlet of Beauworth which is near Cheriton, Alresford and Winchester. They offer excellent light and airy single-storey accommodation, ideal for couples or families wishing to explore the many attractions, walks and coastline that this wonderful part of Hamphsire has to offer. Much thought has been given to providing tastefully styled and comfortable furnishings, with plenty of natural light throughout. Each property has a small enclosed sitting out area with barbecue, and there is an adjoining gate between the two properties, ideal for larger groups.
    Nearby Cheriton has a village shop and there are two popular local pubs both serving fine fayre. The pretty Georgian town of Alresford has scenic riverside walks, further eateries, inns, tea rooms and shops. Alresford is known for being the UK’s capital of watercress farming - enjoy a trip on the Mid Hants Watercress Steam Railway for a wonderful nostalgic journey back in time! For keen cyclists and walkers there are many places to visit including The Itchen Way, Blackwood Forest, St Catherine’s Hill, Winnall Moors Nature Reserve, and also the Ox Drove cycle track. There are many good golf clubs in the area, the nearest being Alresford, 3 miles, and excellent trout or coarse fishing in the Meon Valley.
    In addition to the many scenic walks in the area, there are also a range of attractions to explore. The National Trust’s Hinton Ampner is popular with all ages. The properties are within easy reach of the historic city of Winchester, 8 miles, with its ornate cathedral, The Gurkha Museum, King Alfred Monument and Winchester Science and Planetarium. There are beer and wine tours and tastings within the area too. A short drive will take you to the market towns of Alton and Petersfield, or visit Southampton and Portsmouth where you can see Spinnaker Tower, shopping outlets, the historic dockyard with ships, or enjoy a trip to the Isle of Wight by ferry. The nearest beach at Hayling Island is less than 30 minutes’ drive, and it is approximately 40 minutes’ drive to the wonderful sandy beach at West Wittering. Also within easy driving distance are Chichester with Goodwood or Fontwel Races, Jane Austen’s House, Gilbert White’s House and Gardens, Hambledon Vineyard and The New Forest.     Downlands Farm is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside with wonderful views across the peaceful valley. This rural haven is only 10 minutes from Petersfield, with fantastic road and rail connections for London and Portsmouth. These two holiday cottages Edward’s Cottage (ref UKC1818) and Louisa’s Cottage (ref UK11596) are set on a small working farm and just off a green-lane leading to miles of footpaths, bridleways and on and off-road cycling within the South Downs National Park. The cottages offer light and airy open plan living accommodation, and have ground floor bedrooms and a special ‘hideaway’ bedroom/playroom to accommodate children.
    The barns have been converted from original agricultural buildings and have been sympathetically designed to blend with the surrounding countryside, while offering comfortable accommodation. For biking enthusiast there is a shared bike shed for bike storage and by arrangement, guests are welcome to bring their horses and make use of the Loddon stables. There are three local pubs within the vicinity, all within a half hour stroll or a 3-minute car journey away. The bustling market town of Petersfield is a 10-minute drive, and has a range of shops and restaurants, and along with the two local village shops; these provide all you need for stocking up on essential items. The cathedral cities of Chichester, Guildford, Portsmouth and Winchester are all 45 minutes away, and offer a range of shops and entertainment. The beautiful beach at West Wittering is an hour’s drive away, and this lovely location is ideal to visit, whatever the time of year, and is perfect for all ages. During low season (October to April), you can ride your horse at any time on the beach at West Wittering, and during the summer months you can ride before 9am and after 6pm.
    Hayling Island has a children’s fun fair and a shingle beach, and is within half an hour from Downlands Farm. The cottages enjoy direct access to miles of scenic walking and cycling routes through the beautiful countryside and pretty villages such West Meon, where you can enjoy lunch at one of the pubs serving food, and where Thomas Lord rests, founder of Lords cricket. The market town of Petersfield has a range of restaurants and shops, and if you fancy a day trip to London, the local train service takes approximately one hour. There are several attractions in the area that are worth a visit, including Portsmouth with the Spinnaker Tower, HMS Warrior and Nelson’s HMS Victory, along with the historic Winchester Cathedral, King Arthurs Round Table, and Southampton with its extensive maritime history. For walking and riding the vast heathland of The New Forest National Park is ideal. For a cultural day out, try historic Chichester with its cathedral and festival theatre, and not forgetting the Watercress Steam Train, Jane Austen’s house, Gilbert White’s house, Marwell Zoo, Birdworld and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park which is the other side of the valley.     Located very close to Cissbury Ring which is owned by the National Trust and is designated a Scheduled monument for its Neolithic flint mine and Iron Age hillfort. Cissbury Ring is the largest hill fort in Sussex, the second largest in England and one of the largest in Europe overall, covering some 60 acres. The village has a couple of traditional pubs serving amazing food as well as a few restaurants all within a short walk. If mountain biking is your thing then you are in for a real treat as there are plenty of trails locally that will get the blood pumping.
    Brighton is located just over 14 miles to the East and Worthing beach is just 5 miles South and being submerged in The South Down National Park there is plenty of opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the world. Just park up and walk through the gates to the properties where you will find some great hospitality from the owners.
