This spacious, detached holiday cottage for two has a pleasant enclosed lawned garden with garden furniture for al fresco dining, and is situated in the village of Betws-Yn-Rhos, just opposite a 16th century inn. Walkers love this area and there are sandy beaches just a few miles away. It makes a great base from which to explore the area, with the Welsh Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay, the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno and historic Conwy with its castle within easy reach, whilst in the other direction the city of Chester makes for a great day out. This very attractive, semi-detached, stone-built holiday cottage is situated in the picture-postcard village of Ysbyty Ifan, nestled in the Snowdonia National Park. Ysbyty Ifan is set within the National Trusts Ysbyty Estate with very diverse landscapes and habitats, part of which has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The River Conwy runs through this beautiful, picturesque village which is a haven for wildlife enthusiast and photographers, and ideal for cyclists, walkers and ramblers with walking routes from the door. There is also a children’s play area in the village to keep the children occupied. Keen walkers will enjoy the 6-mile circular route on the Ysbyty Estate to Cwm Eidda walk. In the village, is St John’s Church and is of significant historical importance as it was the birthplace of what we now know as the St John’s Ambulance, and the village was the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln’s great-grandmother.

The beautiful Italiantate village of Portmeirion is well worth visiting or take a trip on the the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway, which are both within a 30-minute drive from the cottage. Other places to visit include the popular Riverside Chocolate House at Pentrefoelas and Conwy Falls. There is fun for all the family at the exciting Zip World Fforest, whilst water sports are catered for at Llyn Brenig. If you fancy a spot of surfing at any time of year, look no further than Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial surfing lagoon, located in Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley. Beach 25 miles. People travel from all over Europe to have a go on Zip World - booking is vital. Join scenic footpaths straight from your doorstep, go onwards and upwards from the cottage and you’ll come to two lovely, little-visited lakes, Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant. Trefriw has a vibrant heart, so expect a friendly welcome at the post office/shop, the award-winning butchers, the fantastic working woollen mill, in the two pubs, and in the brasserie and local café. Trefriw is blessed with two of the most spectacular lakes (Geirionydd and Crafnant). Both lakes lie in the most stunning surroundings and offer different facilities. Geirionydd offers watersports for everyone (paddle and powerboating) whilst Crafnant is a much more peaceful environment. The community lead project Trefriw Trails has 8 waymarked trails which are suited to all ages and abilities for walking and cycling.

Only 2 miles away is Llyn (lake ) Elsi, and Llyn Geirionydd is less than 6 miles away, here you can use Kayaks and Paddle boards. The Marin bike trails at Gwydir are less than 4 miles away. Take a walk to the picturesque Swallow Falls only 2 miles from the cottage. Just under 3 miles you can find tree top climbing and a Forest coaster ride! With Zip World and Bounce Bellow at Llechwedd Quarry 20 minutes’ drive an epic experience for any age. For the more intrepid adventurer Pen Y Pass route for mount Snowdon is only 10 miles away, with the more popular Llanberis route 16 miles distance.
Further down the coast less than 30 minutes’ drive, is the walled harbour town of Conwy, home to the smallest house in Britain and the imposing UNESCO world heritage site of Conwy Castle.
