Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Y Stabal is set on a carefully tended, large, working stock farm, together with the owner’s imposing 18th-century farmhouse. A gentle 3½-mile stroll leads to Llangian, one of the prettiest award winning villages on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. Abersoch is a vibrant seaside village has lots of sheltered, sunny niches along its beautiful sandy beach popular with watersports enthusiasts. The annual jazz festival is held in June and the Wakeboarding Festival in July. There are many shops and visitor attractions open all year (with good sales in the shops after the summer) making it a lovely place to holiday in at any time.

Situated between Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the world class Royal St Davids links golf course, Noddfa has beautiful views of both and the sea beyond. The current detached mansion has a history dating back 250 years, and was protected by the castle garrison. However the distinctive frontage of the house was added in 1850 by Samuel Holland MP and retains much of the Victorian character and splendour, with high ornate ceilings and a bell tower. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline, and has a history dating back hundreds of years. It offers miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with a fantastic selection of water based activities available including sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching available in the surrounding area. There are many beaches to explore in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Just down the road you’ll find the blue flag Dinas Dinlle Beach, with wonderful views across the bay to Anglesey. Porthdinllaen is also nearby and is home to the famous Ty Coch Inn, once voted in the top ten best beach bars in the world!

Caernarfon Castle, an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site is only a short drive away. You’re within easy reach of, Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. There’s also Glasfryn park with many activities to be found here, from go-karting, archery, crazy golf, and many water sports to name a few. There’s something for all ages in this diverse region and it would certainly be a break to remember, and without a doubt you’ll want to return.

Fairbourne and Barmouth are a pleasant drive away, with miles of golden sands at Barmouth and a smaller sandy beach at Fairbourne. Drive down to the lovely seaside resort of Aberdovey with candy-coloured houses, a long uncrowded beach and seaside atmosphere.

In the heart of Criccieth this 17th-century wing of a Grade II listed manor house has been fully and beautifully restored and is now a stylish and comfortable holiday cottage.
