    Lilac Cottage is a mid-terraced barn conversion situated near to the lovely village of Govilon and a few minutes’ drive from the market town of Abergavenny. The property has open plan living space with oak dining table in the dining area to seat up to six guests and a lovely stable door leading to the enclosed rear garden – perfect for letting your pets or children have a run around. Lilac Cottage is full of character and charm with exposed beams. There are two bedrooms to the first floor, each with fabulous beams, one with twin beds and Smart TV and a master bedroom with kingsize bed and Smart TV. There’s also a family bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. Bike, kayak and canoe storage is also provided (please bring your own padlocks for inside the storage).
    There are several pubs within walking distance in Govilon and Gilwen, one being a traditional pub serving good home-cooked food in Govilon and another popular inn offering fantastic pizzas and frequent street food pop-ups on the canalside in Gilwern. There’s also a newly refurbished gastro pub located 2 miles away in Glangrywney, and a visit here is highly recommended! Take an evening walk or cycle along the Monmouthshire canalside or simply sit and enjoy the surroundings. Visit the town of Abergavenny with its historic castle and museum. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafés here for all tastes. Abergavenny serves as the gateway to the area’s fabulous mountains, the Sugarloaf, the Brecon Beacons and the Five Hills (Ysgryd Fach, Deri, Rholben, Ysgryd Fawr and Myndd Llanwenarth). Abergavenny is also renowned for its food festival in September where lots of culinary delights are to be had. For those looking for an adrenalin rush then Bike Park Wales is approximately 18 miles away. There are some of the best mountain bike trails in the world here! Lilac Cottage is ideally placed to reach Monmouth, the Forest of Dean, The Brecon Beacons National Park and Cardiff. With easy access to the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, Offa’s Dyke Path is close by and the Marches Way, the Beacons Way and Usk Valley are all accessible through Abergavenny town. In the other direction is the town of Monmouth, just 20 miles.
    The town is steeped in history, and a visit to Monmouth Castle is a must, along with the Monnow Bridge and Gate. Spend the day at Monmouth Museum, or take a visit to the lost city of Trelleck, where they offer archaeological dig experiences. The area is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with a range of walking opportunities including National Trust Kymin offering spectacular views over the rolling hills of Monmouthshire, or go canoeing or kayaking on the river Wye. The Forest of Dean is a short drive from Monmouth with an abundance of things to do and see such as Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood and Dean Forest Railway. There are also free tours of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site and the Big Pit National Coal Museum.

Set in 35 acres of rural landscape, this is the only working water mill on the Isle of Wight.
    Calbourne offers good accessibility by bicycle to the Military Road which is a cyclist’s paradise. Winkle Cottage has ample private and secure storage facilities for bicycles.
    Head on to the west coast of the Isle of Wight you will find the ancient town of Yarmouth with its plentiful restaurants, shops, and bars. Further west and you will find the most beautiful beaches, along with the iconic, famous landmark attraction, The Needles, which has so much more to enjoy than the stunning views - it is a destination not to be missed. The range of attractions includes the spectacular chairlift ride, taking you on a journey past the coloured sands cliffs of Alum Bay to the beach. Soak up the breathtakingly beautiful views from the beach and enjoy a paddle in the sea. Or get closer to The Needles by taking a pleasure cruise - the sunsets are incredible here.
