Swn Y Nant is a stunning lodge in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This eco-friendly property is perfect for those wanting to explore the area or to simply have a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nestled next to a stream and with a ramp to the entrance, this fabulous lodge comprises a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize zip and link bed and a ground floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, a double-ended two-person bath and a heated towel rail. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it light and airy and has a Smart TV, super fast Wi-Fi up 150 mbps download and patio doors leading to the decked area with a private hot tub. There is also a small utility area. To the first floor is a kingsize bedroom with Smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the property with zoned thermostatic controls.
Outside, you will find hot and cold taps, perfect for washing your four-legged friends off after a walk in the hills. This eco-friendly lodge has eco cleaning products which are supplied along with a welcome basket of local produce, as well as a welcome basket for your dog containing treats and eco waste bags, also supplied is a bed, a blanket and a towel for your four-legged friend. A medium sized dog cage is available upon request.
There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. There is something here for everyone, and for those looking for more adventures then why not climb the high peaks of Pen Y Fan and take in the breathtaking views of the rolling countryside?

Bryn Teg is a spacious lodge in the heart of Mid Wales, situated near the entrance of the Caer Beris Estate. All on the ground floor, it offers a large open-plan living space; the living area has a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa bed, an electric wood burner, a Smart TV with Sky package and patio doors leading to the rear decked area. The dining area has a large dining table able to seat six, and the well-equipped kitchen area has a separate island with a breakfast bar. The master bedroom features a walk-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and an en-suite shower room. There is also a further bedroom complete with single bed and single fold-out bed, a large double wardrobe, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. A utility room, with back door access, completes the accommodation.
The decked area to the rear has upholstered seating and table and chairs, as well as a gas barbecue for al fresco dining whilst enjoying uninterrupted views over the rolling countryside. A variety of wildlife can be seen from the decked area, including red kites, rabbits and a local pheasant complete with wives. Sheep and cattle graze in the nearest field.
The setting is beautifully rural, yet only a mile away from the town of Builth Wells. The town can be reached by car or a pleasant 20 minutes’ walk across the river, past the imposing Caer Beris Hotel and then alongside the tree lined walk along the River Wye into Builth.
Activities nearby include fishing, golf, pony trekking, walking, bike trails and swimming at Builth Swimming Pool. The Royal Welsh Showground is home to the international Royal Welsh Show held in July and the spring and winter. The site also hosts dog shows and antique fairs throughout the year. Brecon Beacons National Park and spectacular Black Mountains are also within easy reach.

Dardy Cottage has been renovated to a very good standard in 2020 and is located in the village of Dardy. The historic town of Crickhowell is 15 minutes’ walk, (¾ miles) from Dardy Cottage. The village of Llangattock is just 5 minutes’ walk, and has several pubs offering food and an excellent children’s playground recently upgraded. Crickhowell was named in 2019 as the best place to live in Wales by the Sunday Times, and also best high street in Britain in 2018. There is an array of amenities there including independent boutiques, coffee shops, bookshops, groceries and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the ’Green Man’ during August. This property is also perfect for anyone wanting to participate in the annual Crickhowell Walking Festival, in March.
The town of Abergavenny is 7 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. Abergavenny is also host to an annual food festival in September. The South Wales three peaks event Blorenge/Sugar Loaf and Skirrid in a day!) takes place in March. The "platinum challenge" starts from Crickhowell.
Brecon is just 15½ miles away from Dardy Cottage and has lots of places of interest, such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, south Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The annual Crickhowell Walking festival provides a range of guided walks.
Dardy Cottage is close to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and the Usk Valley Walk National Trail, which run through the village, offering easy access on foot and bike to local attractions and Sustrans cycling routes. For cyclists we have secure storage in the garage.

This detached, single-storey cottage, next to the owner’s home, is set on a working small holding. It has stunning views over open countryside towards the Welsh border and enjoys a wonderful location for walkers, with Offa’s Dyke long distance footpath nearby. After a long day enjoying all the area has to offer, there is a wonderful patio space on which to relax overlooking the neighbouring farmland, where guests can enjoy watching the free range hens around the property. The historic city of Chester and the market town of Shrewsbury are both under an hour’s drive, and offer a wide selection of bars, shops and restaurants. Snowdonia National Park is also easily accessible. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Llansantffraed House is a wonderful, spacious property with high ceilings and original features. Dating back to the 1800’s, this property was once home to the Lord of the Manor!

This lovely, large detached property, situated next to a chicken farm, is just 4 miles from the town of Newtown yet sat in a rural location with great views of the rolling countryside. This property is an ideal base for groups of friends and large family gatherings. Just a stone’s throw away is Lake Vyrnwy, a Victorian dam constructed in the 1880s in the Vyrnwy Valley to supply fresh water to Liverpool. Experience the walks and trails of the 24,000-acre RSPB Reserve, with viewpoints and hides around the lake to observe the amazing variety of birds and scenery. There are plenty of activities too, including boating, adventure activities, cycle hire, walking and horse trails. There are local craft shops to visit and excellent places to eat.

Oswestry, renowned for its bustling market, independent shops and café culture, is a great place to enjoy a day out and only a 20-minute drive away. Further afield lies Ellesmere, the town is quiet and quite charming. Shopping is traditional with independent shops and a market, and you can stroll from mere to town and then to the wharfage and out along the canal towpaths. The Cottage and The Barn have both been renovated to a high standard in 2021, and are ideal for a romantic breakaway, or a fabulous family holiday. You can explore the rolling countryside with friends, or relax and unwind in the countryside and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Situated on the owners 16 acres of land, with a large wildlife pond. There are walks to be had straight from the front door and into Dyffryn woods - the woodland is approximately 260 metres high and gives some great views over Neath, The Bristol Channel and the Gower peninsula on a clear day. There is plenty to do and see from both properties; for those adrenaline junkies looking for some excitement, Bike Park Wales is approximately a 40-minute drive from the property, and Afan Forest Mountain Bike Trails are a 25-minute drive, with masses of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts.
If you tire of the mountains, you are never far from the sea either with Aberavon Beach 9 miles away, and the famous Gower Peninsula only 20 miles away. The National Show Caves for Wales are a short drive from the property and make a fantastic day out with three of the largest caves to experience. Almost directly across the road you will find Craig Y Nos Castle and the attached country park which was formally owned by opera singer Adelina Patti. If you are looking for some retail therapy the property is perfectly located only 3 miles from the historic market town of Neath and 9 miles from Swansea, both of which have traditional indoor markets. Swansea has a lovely marina and a very large beach which continues on to Mumbles where you will find an array of bistros, shops and ice cream parlous where you can try the famous Joes Ice cream. Bwthyn Canol is a quaint cottage situated in Pentre’r-felin 2½ miles from Sennybridge, great walks to be had from the front door of this lovely cottage. Sennybridge has all the amenities you could need from pubs, restaurants and local shops. The historic town of Brecon is 9 miles from the property where you will find plenty of coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars, and don’t miss a visit to the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh at the barracks. It is also a great location for star gazers as the property is in the Brecon Beacon National Park and is an International Dark Sky Reserve.
