Gwrlodde, a former farmhouse just outside Talgarth, was completely renovated to a high standard in 2022 with underfloor heating throughout. It features a well-equipped kitchen/dining room with island and a living room with Smart TV and wood burner, as well as a useful utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer.

To the first floor there is a master bedroom with zip and link super kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, double room with zip and link kingsize bed, bunk bedroom (adult sized beds) and a single room with day bed and pull-out trundle. All bedrooms have USB plugs. The garden to the front of the property is enclosed, with private parking available for 3 cars.

The ancient market town of Talgarth is an ideal base for visitors wishing to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot, particularly as it forms the "Gateway to the Black Mountains". There are wonderful walking opportunities on the doorstep and an annual walking festival in the town in May. Visit the local businesses around the pretty stone streets, where you can find great local produce, watch the gentle river as it flows under the Medieval Tower Bridge or, at Christmas gaze at the dazzling lights. The town offers a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thanks to the BBC’s Village SOS programme, Talgarth now has a fully restored working water mill with a very popular café. There are cosy pubs with log fires, real ales and home cooked food.

Discover Parc Wood or Pwll-yr-Wrach waterfalls and nature reserve, look at the views from the top of Bronllys Castle, or simply admire the spectacular views from the common land overlooking the town. Close to Brecon, Crickhowell and Hay-on-Wye, Talgarth is an ideal base for visitors wishing to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot, whether it’s the high peaks or the lush green valleys of the Wye and the Usk which capture the imagination. Sgubor Fach is in the Tanat Valley, so you will have no shortage of local pubs, restaurants and other places to eat out. You are also spoilt for choice with both Lake Vyrnwy and the magnificent Llanrhaeadr waterfall nearby. The village is surrounded by steep hills, forests and waterfalls and is an excellent start from which to explore the Berwyn mountains. Just five miles away is the quaint village of Llanfyllin, which boasts many shops, restaurants and pubs; or you can drive 30 minutes to Welshpool to visit Powis Castle (National Trust). From the house there is woodland to roam and plenty of local walks to take from nearby. Then, after a day out, why not head back to the cottage to spend the evening sat on the patio gazing up at the stars?

Nestled in Landore, 5 minutes from Swansea City Centre with excellent bus and train routes nearby into the city to discover this fantastic area, close by the Liberty Stadium home of Swansea City Football club hosts lots of events throughout the year and the Stunning Gower Peninsular is around a 10 minute drive. A short walk from Morfa House and you can enjoy a host of eateries, shopping centres, Parks and even a brewery specialising in welsh ales close by.
On the ground floor the open plan living and dining room offers the perfect bright and airy space to relax in after a busy day sightseeing which leads onto a modern galley style kitchen with solid oak tops, perfect for cooking that special meal and this leads onto your enclosed courtyard garden with patio furniture to take in some sea air. On the first floor each bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated and well furnished with the master suite boasting an En-suite bathroom.
Morfa House is close to a plethora of beaches and has easy access to the Gower Peninsula with Langland Bay, Caswell Bay Beach and Three Cliffs Bay only 30 minutes away, you can also enjoy an early evening stroll along The Mumbles with some fantastic views out across the Carmarthen Bay, here you can visit Mumbles Pier and Bracelet Bay and then enjoy a meal in one of the many eateries along the shore.
Take a trip to Laugharne where a tour of Thomas Dylan’s former home is just one of the places to discover in the area. A great day out is the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, and the famous walled coastal town of Tenby all within reach and perfect for day trips.

Lose yourself in the tranquil surroundings of The Secret Garden Hideaway five beautiful private lodges each offering a place to unwind and relax. All the bedrooms are beautifully furnished in a contemporary style, conveniently with substantially sized ensuite wet rooms. The lodges are eco-friendly, providing heat through a biomass heating system, the ethos behind the lodges was to be as sustainable as possible during the development phase.
A little up the path from The Secret Garden Hideaway, you will be delighted to know that the owners run a fabulous hotel. Conveniently serving food and drinks so that you can either enjoy your surroundings in peace and quiet fending for yourselves or choose to dine at the hotel for a different experience. The surrounding woodland and open countryside beyond provide walkers with endless miles of paths and trails to explore with stunning scenery to enjoy along the way. If you want to explore a little further into the local area, a trip to Lake Vyrnwy is a must. It is one of Wales’s hidden gems.
With stunning views, a wonderful array of walks to suit all abilities and some fantastic wildlife, it is a great place to visit throughout the year. Visit Llanerfyl’s most stunning fishery, boasting two large lakes and one pool. Bluebell Park meets the needs of experts and beginners and all those in between. Located in a stunning part of Mid Wales its fishing with a view. Or there’s Powis Castle, a medieval fortress built in the 13th century by the Welsh ruler of Powys, Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn, sits high on a rock above its world-famous garden in Welshpool.
Lots to see and do here during the summer too, from outdoor cinemas to volleyball with lots of family activities to try. Welshpool is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful sights of Mid Wales. Discover countryside canal walks, modern art, historic castles and heritage railways all just over 15 miles down the road, famous for its annual festival of literature and arts and well worth a visit at any time of the year.

Bay Cottage is set in the grounds of Coytrahen House, an 18th-century landscaped park with a Georgian country house. The park is mostly woodland and offers 42 acres to explore. Bay Cottage is detached and sits just behind the main country house. The cottage has a modern feel with a touch of country style and the luxury finish throughout makes for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
Accommodating up to four guests, there are two good-sized bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. The open plan living accommodation boasts two living areas, a dining space and a fully equipped kitchen. The 42-acre plot is based in Coytrahen, Bridgend; you’ll find a local pub in the village, and more in neighbouring towns and villages around the borough. Bridgend County Borough has lots to explore, including historical sites, country parks and the heritage coast, a designer shopping outlet and some fantastic independent restaurants around the county. So whether you fancy a day at the beach, or want to indulge in some local history, or even a day of retail therapy followed by some quality dining, it’s all there to enjoy.
If you want to see more of South Wales Bay Cottage is a great base… road access for South Wales is good, with the M4 motorway a short drive away. Head west for Swansea and the famous Gower Peninsula Area Of National Beauty or Pembrokeshire coast. Or a short drive east will get you to Cardiff, Wales’ capital city. Cardiff is home to all kinds of events year round, including international sports, musical superstars, and much more! Within an hour’s drive you could also find yourself in the famous Welsh valleys, where you’ll find waterfall walks (where some famous movie scenes have been filmed), or the Brecon Beacons at the foot of the tallest peak in South Wales, Penyfan.

Wernddu Fechan Bungalow is perfect for an extended family break or friends alike looking to explore this fabulous area. The property has full wheelchair access and ramp level access to the ground floor, there is a ground floor double room and walk-in shower for those with reduced mobility. A great open kitchen/dining room leads to the rear garden through French doors – perfect for al-fresco dining! There is an enclosed grassed area for the dogs to run about freely and a paddock to the side of the property (not fully enclosed). The living room is perfect for a night in or relaxing in front of the wood burner with a glass of something refreshing.
For your comfort there are digital thermostats downstairs that control the underfloor heating, with additional, separate controls for the master bedroom and hallway. Upstairs has individual thermostatic radiator valves. The patio area outside to the front of the property has glass balustrades surrounding the front of the property and to the rear is a patio area and grassed garden. The property sits within 10 acres of land.
Both Neath town centre and Swansea are easily accessible being approximately 4-5 miles from the property.
The Neath Valley in South Wales is an increasingly popular area for UK holidays. The location lends itself well to those looking to explore the diverse countryside of the area. With cycle paths and walking trails on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore.
The valley is home to some of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, including Aberdulais, Melincourt, Pontneddfechan and Sgwd yr Eira. Impressive hills will keep you busy, head to Afan Forest Park, 20 minutes away, for hilly bike trails or Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons, which is the tallest peak in South Wales.
For family fun days out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at Dan yr Ogof, The National Botanic Gardens, Folly Farm, quad biking and Zip World are firm favourites in the area. Aberavon beach is 8½ miles away, or visit the famous beaches of the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Swansea Bay are all within 40 minutes or less. Pendine sands, Tenby, Carmarthen, Bridgend (McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village), Cardiff, Newport, Prince of Wales Stadium are all within an hour’s drive. The Penderyn Whisky distillery is under 30 minutes away where tours are available. Multiple local golf courses are available as is some of the best Salmon and Sewin (Seatrout) fishing in the UK on the rivers Towy, Teifi, Gwilli and Cothi, a personal ghillie can even be arranged for you. It is a perfect base for anyone wishing to fish the Golden Grove or Abercothi Estates waters. Other coarse and flyfishing lakes and reservoirs are also available. Horse riding with a local equestrian centre is also available.
All in all you could not find a more centrally located place for a holiday in South Wales.

The literary town of Hay-on-Wye is approximately 10 miles away with its array of book shops and of course the world-renowned Hay Festival every year. If you fancy taking things at a slower pace, why not take a barge ride down the canal? The town is also the home of the Brecon Jazz Festival in the summer. For those looking to explore some of the Brecon Beacons National Parks highest peaks then this property is just 14 miles from the base of Pen Y Fan, so you can enjoy a climb to the top to see the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
