The cottage is the former Coach House to Heath Park, a listed property used by Beatrix Potter in the 1890s. Set in an elevated position on a quiet private road in the Victorian conservation village of Birnam, this cottage has its own garden within the grounds of the owner’s property. Walking, cycling, golf, fishing, castles, gardens and distillieries locally. Excellent transport links, with Dunkeld railway station, 400 yards. Shop and pub 600 yards.

The owners offer their guests a free daily session with their dog at Hunsdale Fields. Both 3-acre and 5-acre fields are fully enclosed, where each customer has the exclusive use to let their dog exercise off the lead, without the distractions of other dogs or their owners.

This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the picturesque village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, wood burning stove and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. Luxury toiletries, bathrobes and bed linen are also provided. It benefits from a south-facing garden with built-in barbecue and it is only a short walk to the village pub and restaurant. On arrival, guests will receive a hamper of local produce to help them settle in. At Christmas time, it is decorated for that festive cheer.
You might never want to leave the village, but if you do, there is plenty to do in the local area, including Beverley with its cobbled streets, racecourse, minster and courtyards. Hull is only 12 miles away, with its 2017 City of Culture status, museums, Humber Bridge, Hull Truck Theatre and The Deep aquarium. Hull University is only 13 miles away, making Pond View Cottage ideal for parents visiting their children, taster weeks and graduation. Further afield there is Burton Constable Hall, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Xscape Yorkshire (which boasts the country’s biggest real snow slope). York, with its minster, Shambles, museums, nearby Yorkshire Air Museum and boat trips, is 28 miles away. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills and many established walks, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Coast to Coast cycle route, which are accessed from outside the door. For those that enjoy a game of golf, Cave Castle, Brough and Hessle golf courses are nearby. Metal detecting (on private land) and fishing can be arranged. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

The Burrow has been beautifully restored to a good standard making your stay comfortable. It was once a thriving gunpowder works dating back to 1798 and part of Low Wood Mill gunpowder works. With the multi-fuel burner in the living area and the underfloor heating, you can be toasty warm on those cold winter evenings and in the summer you can sit out on the patio and enjoy views and access to the paddock. Offering uninterrupted panoramic views over the spectacular Bronte countryside, Mia Cottage can be found within the grounds of the owner’s home, nestled high above the village of Stanbury. The mid terraced cottage, which is accessed via a farm track (unsuitable for low vehicles), is full of charm with thoughtful touches such as underfloor heating on the ground floor and a floor to ceiling window in the living area providing superb long distance views over the truly rural setting. Guests are also provided with dressing gowns and towels for the private hot tub which is situated to the front of the property - the perfect place for relaxing and taking in the surrounding environment.
For those wanting to explore the local area by foot, many walks can be embarked upon straight from the door such as Top Withens and Bronte waterfalls. In addition, Britain’s greatest long distance walking trail, The Pennine Way, runs adjacent to the farm. The village of Stanbury is just a short walk from the cottage and has a number of pubs serving local food, and wonderful Haworth village, home of the famous Bronte Sisters is just a 5 minute drive.
Slightly further afield the vibrant town of Hebden Bridge, which can be reached in around 20 minutes, has plenty of independent shops and cafés. The bustling market town of Skipton is around a 30-minute drive, and provides the gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park. For National Trust visitors, Hardcastle Crags offers a beautiful wooded valley, or East Riddlesden Hall, a little oasis in a busy urban area. Both can be reached in around half an hour. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Visit the Victorian Gothic mansion of Mount Stuart, open to the public along with its beautiful gardens, Bute Museum, Rothesay Castle and the fabulous gardens of Ascog Hall and Ardencraig. There are many events held throughout the year, including the famous annual Jazz Festival, the spectacular Highland Games, traditional agricultural shows, concerts and art festivals; whatever your interest it can be found on the Isle of Bute. Catch the ferry for the 5-minute trip to Colintraive on the Cowal Peninsula and explore Argyll’s Secret Coast where you have easy access to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or head north to Inverary and beyond.
