Delfryn is a delightful 19th century, link-detached cottage situated in the small ancient village of Llanarth. The cottage is located just off the A487 coastal road which runs between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, within 3 miles of the pretty seaside resort of New Quay and 3 miles from the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron; both of which have a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.
The owners of Delfryn have painstakingly restored the cottage to offer contemporary and comfortable holiday accommodation whilst retaining original features. The property layout is ideally suited to a family or friends holidaying together. The lovely living room has a feature stone wall and fireplace with a gas wood-burning stove for cosy nights in. The living room leads directly to the contemporary and spacious kitchen and dining area which in turn has French doors bringing you out into the terrace and garden. Also leading off the living room is a separate snug with a further TV and a sofa bed for two people, if required. A shower room and toilet completes the ground floor accommodation and upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The seaside resort of New Quay clings to the rocks above Cardigan Bay and has three great sandy beaches (two are dog friendly all year round) and two harbours from where you can spot an array of wildlife, most famously the dolphins that visit the harbour almost daily. Why not take a boat trip to get up close and personal or buy an ice cream or fish and chips and sit on the harbour wall and wait for them to appear! Lovers of the outdoors may also like to try sailing, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking or canoeing from the harbour beach. The resorts of Llangrannog, Aberaeron and Aberporth are also within easy reach of Llanarth and each are great starting points for walking the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path – there’s 60 miles of it to enjoy and the beaches and coastline are some of the best in Wales. A 35-minute drive will bring you to the resort of Aberystwyth, where you will find the pier and promenade as well as the electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill. Have a coffee up there and enjoy the spectacular views across the bay. You can also take the steam train from Aberyswtyth to Devil’s Bridge and waterfalls, or why not drive a bit further on to the Silver Mountain Experience at Llywernog, a fantastic day out to explore the history of the 18th century silver mine. This part of west Wales has so much to offer whether you are after a short break or a longer stay; why not come and make Delfryn your base and see for yourself. Beach 2¼ miles. A few minutes walk from the lodge and you’ll meet one of Anglesey’s many coastal paths, no matter the weather the scenery is breath taking. There are many beaches within easy reach The Creek, a small cove in Bull Bay is less than a mile away, Lligwy beach less than 7 miles, Bychan Beach 8 miles, Cemaes Bay 5 miles to name a few! Parys Mountain one of the largest copper mines in the world, a must see location a few minutes away. Take a stroll around the network of paths and marvel at the spectacular copper colours surrounding the area. Amlwch harbour dates back to the Middle Ages once a bustling port is only one mile away; in Amlwch you’ll also find places to eat and local shops and pub. Maybe venture a little further and take a drive to Beaumaris home to a UNESCO World Heritage site, Beaumaris Castle, famously known as the castle that was never built! There’s water sports a plenty, boat trips and so much more to be enjoyed on this diverse island. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

At Lady Edith’s Holiday Park, you have a welcoming family friendly bar next to a play area, making this fun for everyone. You can also purchase a fishing permit for the local mere, or explore the nearby woodland. In Scarborough there are two bays. North Bay Beach sweeps in a crescent lined with colourful beach huts with the Sea Life Centre at the far end. You can walk from the North Bay all the way along the promenade to the busier South Bay. At the south bay you have all the fun of a traditional seaside holiday with arcades as well as many cafés, restaurants, bars and shops to visit. Both bays have lovely, large sandy beaches. There is also Scarborough Castle which stands on the cliff top between the two bays, as well as the casino and the funfair on the seafront.
Peasholm Park is wonderful to discover, you can hire pedalos and rowing boats to go around the lake and see the stunning oriental gardens. Scarborough is famous for its theatres. There is an outdoor theatre which stages concerts by some of music’s big names, and then there is the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is famous for the premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays. The Alpamare waterpark is great for all ages, with its fantastic wave pool and waterslides, as well as a large heated outdoor infinity pool. Keep younger children entertained with the ’splash and play’ area. For adults there is a spa where you can relax and be pampered. The heated outdoor pools are warm enough to enjoy through all of the seasons. Further along the coast you also have Ravenscar, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Bridlington to discover. There is so much to see and do you are sure to be spoilt for choice. Beach 3 miles.

Just a short stroll to the river bank, these splendid cottages all have an enclosed garden with patio and hot tub, and offer lovely walks along the river bank and good cycle routes straight from the door. Salters Cottage (ref E5045), Chestnut Cottage (ref E5626) and Granary Cottage (ref E5626) are two-storey terraced cottages, and Field View (ref UKC2304) is a detached, single-storey barn conversion. Internally, these properties have been superbly converted and beautifully furnished and decorated.
Set close to the River Steeping, at the edge of the owners’ 80-acre arable farm, which guests are free to explore, there is the bonus of free river fishing within the grounds (license required). On the fringe of Wainfleet All Saints, and within a short walk, is a famous brewery which offers tours, an on-site pub and a bistro, these properties are perfect for exploring the area. Wainfleet All Saints is a quaint market town with an array of shops, pubs, restaurant and a railway station. The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is just 5 miles away, and has a lovely sandy beach and family entertainment, including the Fantasy Island theme park. The National Trust properties of Gunby Hall and Tattershall Castle are within easy driving distance. Visit bird and seal sanctuaries along the coast, or take a trip to medieval Lincoln, with its famous castle and cathedral, just 40 miles away, across the scenic, rolling Lincolnshire Wolds countryside. If a day at the beach is what is needed, then you are in luck. Whichever direction you travel you will find beautiful beaches, travel west and you will be spoilt by miles of unspoilt beaches. If you are lucky enough, you may find a fossil. Travel south and you will find the resorts, of Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor, with its sandy or pebble beaches, amusement arcades and lots, lots more. The isle of wight is also home to one of its most iconic sights, The Needles.

Tucked away on a quiet country lane just 5 miles from the sandy beaches at Chapel St Leonards is this spacious bungalow ideal for a family break with a large garden including a big summerhouse and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.
Within 15 minutes’ drive you have the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe, Fantasy Island, Butlins, Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve as well as The Lincolnshire Wolds. A nearby footpath through the field takes you to the village pub where you can have food, and is a 10-minute walk away, before you return to soak in your own private hot tub and enjoy the open view across the fields.
For those wishing to enjoy a very popular gastro pub there is one at Skendleby approximately a 10-minute drive away. You can even bring your family dog, with two small dogs welcome, but please be aware there could be cattle or sheep in adjacent fields. There are very good walks from the door with the area also being very popular for cyclists. Beach 5 miles. Pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Mackenzie Cottage is a traditional style, detached cottage situated in the charming and renowned village of Poolewe in the north west Highlands. The cottage is beautifully presented throughout, with lots of attractive personal touches reflecting a Highland theme. There is a cosy living room on the ground floor with a feature electric wood burner. The kitchen/dining room is bright, contemporary and very well equipped. There are two double bedrooms upstairs, one with a 6’6" bed that converts into twin beds if required. This room enjoys superb views over the river to the hills beyond. Situated just 30 yards from the beach and with excellent local amenities a short stroll from the cottage, it provides an ideal base for a wonderful Highland holiday.
The immediate area is renowned for its wonderful beaches and breathtaking scenery. Wildlife abounds and otters, seals and a myriad of bird life can be seen locally. The sub-tropical gardens of Inverewe are simply stunning and offer visitors a memorable day out. Due to its temperate climate, which is warmed by the waters of the Gulf Stream, an exceptional variety of plants flourish here. The pretty village of Poolewe has excellent local amenities, all within easy walking distance, including café, village shop and even a swimming pool.
