Nestled down a tranquil private road within 5 minutes walk of the vibrant Georgian town of Bewdley with all its amenities, shops, restaurants, River Severn, Tourist Information Centre, museum, rowing, tennis, bowling, fishing clubs, Bewdley Severn Valley railway station which is just 50 yards away and West Midland Safari Park just 4 minutes drive. The Wyre Forest, with all its walks and cycle tracks, is just 7 minutes drive away.
The Old Rope Works manufactured hand made rope and twine from 1801 to 1972. A display of its equipment and products is on display in Bewdley museum. The building has been lovingly transformed and restored into a luxurious, spacious, bright, contemporary, cosy home whilst retaining the huge character and quirkiness of the original factory. There are original beams, hard floors, bare brick walls throughout, and the working bell tower that once called in its workers.
On the ground floor you have a contemporary kitchen with breakfast seating area and 30" TV, a dining room with the double bedroom off to the left and the luxurious bathroom off to the right, fitted with bath walk-in shower and underfloor mood lighting. On the first floor you have a spacious living room with the original bell still in the roof, double glazed sash windows and cast iron radiators, the master bedroom with en-suite shower room and final single bedroom lead off from the living room. At the rear of the property, through a gated entrance is an enclosed courtyard with very high walls, ideal for children and pets alike. It features garden furniture and a gas BBQ, a real sun trap all afternoon until sunset so great to relax and dine al fresco. There is also a store off the courtyard for cycling and fishing equipment with a wash down hose outside.
The property is in a superb location with the Severn Valley Railway 50 yards from the property and local shop, pubs and restaurant just 100 yards away. There is parking for 2 cars on the property’s private driveway.

The property is located in the grounds of Hillview Arena and Stables, and you are directly beside a bridle path. The owners offer riding holidays by prior arrangement. Here, your horse can be accommodated during your stay at the cottage, in the 12x12 stables or fenced turnout area. You would also have access to use of the two arenas and show jumps. The West Barn, an adjoining barn conversion, is set at the heart of it, just in view of the historic mansion. The estate itself is dated at the earliest at 1173, and is owned by Lord Nick Lechmere. The Lechmere Estate is situated in Hanley Castle, a historic hamlet approximately one mile from the town of Upton-on-Severn. The Malverns are known for their rolling iconic hills and were the inspiration for musician Edward Elgar’s many symphonies. In a peaceful lakeside setting at the edge of the picturesque village of Pensax, this charming cottage boasts its own large, well-tended garden, leading directly to the water’s edge. A haven for wildlife with ducks, moorhen and geese on the private unfenced lake.
Within easy driving distance are Witley Court, the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre, Ludlow, Worcester and Tenbury Wells. The Wyre Forest is the largest woodland nature reserve in England with cycling, horse riding and many scenic walking trails.
The pretty market town of Ludlow is home to the ruins of a medieval castle which dates back to the 12th century. The black and white timber framed buildings lining the streets add a traditional feel to the town.
The cathedral city of Worcester is in some ways, another market town with pretty black and white Tudor timber framed buildings, and makes for an alternative day out. The medieval cathedral is home to cloisters, a crypt and houses some royal tombs.

For a family day out the West Midlands Safari Park is home to over 170 exotic species including meerkats, zebra, tigers, rhinoceros, giraffes, lions, camels, cheetah, ankola cattle and elephants to name a few.
