• The Bellringers Cottage, WrexhamInstant Book Overlay Image
This delightful cottage sits opposite the pretty village church in Llandegla and was once the home of the village bell ringer, hence the name. From the moment you step through the door, you know you can relax and enjoy your time here. With plenty of character and many original features, including exposed beams and stone walls, there’s also an inglenook fireplace in the living room with a warming multi-fuel burner and the attractive kitchen/dining room overlooks the pretty garden.

There’s a real community feel to the village of Llandegla. Just opposite the cottage, the church offers tea and coffee to visitors, whilst only a few doors away you’ll find the lovely community-run village shop and café. Llandegla itself is well known nationally for its mountain bike centre and forest trails, but is also a popular starting point for walks on the Offa’s Dyke footpath, which runs just a few yards from the cottage. In the heart of the north east Wales countryside, The Bellringers Cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Dee Valley, or further afield into north or mid Wales.

The market town of Mold is close by, also offering top quality stage productions at Theatr Clwyd. The historic city of Chester is also within easy reach, offering full shopping facilities plus its city walls, cathedral and unique shopping rows. A trip over the winding Horseshoe Pass brings you to Llangollen, home of the annual International festival Eisteddfod. Situated on the River Dee, with fishing nearby, you can enjoy walks along the towpath of the Llangollen Canal, or take a nostalgic journey on a steam train along the Dee Valley to Corwen, on the Llangollen Railway. The historic National Trust properties of Chirk Castle and Erddig are also well worth a visit, whilst day trips to the Snowdonia National Park are also possible.
