About this property

Gunnislake 2.5 miles. Ideal for families who want to spend time outside and explore all that Cornwall, South Devon, and the moors have to offer, this pet-friendly lodge can be found on the grounds of the Honicombe Manor Resort in the stunning Tamar Valley AONB. Whatever the weather, you can always find something fun to do thanks to the resort's many amenities, which include an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool, a fitness centre, a health spa, a fantastic selection of walking and biking paths, a games room, a pub, and a shop, all of which are included in your stay thanks to the owners' generous inclusion of membership. The home offers two off-road parking spaces, a patio with a barbecue and outdoor seating for dining alfresco, and an indulgent hot tub for leisurely soaks after a day of exploring. In the spacious open-plan living area, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare delicious meals for your guests, ready to tuck-into at the dining table as you recount the days adventures. After dinner, make your way through to the sitting area, where you can relax on the sumptuous sofas and enjoy a film on the Freeview TV with DVD player. Completing the ground floor are two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, both of which have access to a sleek shower room. Head upstairs where two further bedrooms await, a double and twin, both served by a beautiful bathroom where you can prepare for the day in style. Those interested in learning more about water sports can visit the nearby Siblyback Lake and Outdoor and Active Centre, which provides a wide range of activities suitable for the whole family. In the vicinity, you'll find a plethora of picturesque places worth seeing, such as the lovely riverside village of Calstock and the vast National Trust holdings, so picking just one will be difficult! Your new home from home further benefits from being 20 miles from Whitesand's sandy beaches and Looe's picturesque harbour where you can enjoy crabbing with the little ones, Banjo Pier, and popular restaurants, including The Sail Loft where you can sample fresh seafood, and the Smugglers Cott for traditional British cuisine. Experience Cornwall like never before with a stay at Dartmoor Valley Lodge.

Gunnislake is a little town in the countryside that sits on the forested slopes of the River Tamar. There are some stores and pubs in this small town. The settlement is located at the beginning of the beautiful Tamar Valley Railway, which runs along the riverbank all the way to Plymouth. Dartmoor, the beaches of the south and north coasts, and the sights of Cornwall's westernmost region are all easily accessible from here. Nearby attractions include the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT), all less than ten minutes away, as well as the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants. You may go otter and deer spotting along the Tamar Valley walk, explore the restored Victorian mining community of Morwellham Quay 4 miles away, visit the National Trust-owned Lydford Gorge, or head to Looe's beach and charming harbour, which is 25 miles away. For a change of pace, take the Tamar Valley Railway to Plymouth to see the fantastic Marine Aquarium or to wander the ancient Plymouth Hoe.
