About this property

Corwen 5.8 miles. Nestled on the outskirts of Maerdy near Corwen in North Wales, is this contemporary two-bedroom lodge, Hilltop. Taking its name from its superb, elevated position which offers exceptional views from its bubbling hot tub or private roof terrace, Hilltop makes for a perfect dwelling for couples or a family of four who are looking to add a touch of style to their North Wales adventure. Step into the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher, where you can look forward to whipping up flavourful delights ready to enjoy in the living/dining room at the table for four. If the weather is nice, why not make dinner an alfresco affair and dine out on the front patio or up on the roof terrace where you can soak up the breath-taking vistas on offer. After dinner, why not indulge in a blissful soak in the wood-fired hot tub, toast marshmallows round the fire pit or wash away the day in the outdoor shower? As the evening grows darker, gather your loved ones on the corner sofa and select a much-loved film from the Smart TV. When sleep calls, retire to one of two well-presented bedrooms, a king-size and a bunk, both perfect for catching your rest in. In the morning, wake-up tired eyes with a refreshing rinse in the shower, before serving up morning coffees and planning the days adventures. Explore your local surroundings, where just a short drive away, you will find the welcoming Goat Inn, where you can sample the local ales and treat your loved ones to a tasty meal. Continue onto Corwen, where you will find the delightful Rhug Estate Farm Shop, which has everything you could need, including a farmers’ market, café, restaurant, and takeaway service! The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants, convenience stores, bakeries, and a traditional butcher. The charming town of Llangollen is within easy reach, here you can hop aboard a vintage steam train on the heritage railway where you can expect exceptional views whilst travelling through the Dee Valley AONB. The town is also home to the historic 14th-century Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens, the Llangollen Museum, the 13th-century ruins of Castell Dinas Bran, and the horse-drawn boat centre, where you can journey up to the UNESCO Word Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte, famed for being Britain’s largest aqueduct. From here you can drive up to the grand National Trust site of Erddig, a large 18th-century manor with 12,000-acres of garden. Make a stop in Wrexham which offers excellent shopping opportunities, wildlife rich walks within the Moss Valley Country Park an and a good selection of golf clubs. If it’s outdoor adventures you seek, why not venture over to Bala, where you can sail, canoe and kayak on the lake’s vast waters, or if that isn’t your thing, head to Ruthin where you can indulge in a pamper at Ruthin Castle’s spa or explore the Ruthin Gaol Museum. All this and more awaits with a stay at Hilltop.
