Beeston is just a short drive away from the small and bustling market town of Dereham, who’s history dates to the Saxon era. Venture into Dereham on a Tuesday and you will be able to purchase fresh local produce and various other items from its weekly market. Treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy in one of the many independent shops or watch the world go by with a fresh coffee served in one of the cafes. Soak up Dereham’s rich history and visit the oldest building in the town, Bishop Bonner’s Cottage Museum or visit the remarkable 13th century church of St Nicholas and hear the ringing of the charming bells from the bell tower opposite. Visit the popular attraction of Mid Norfolk Railway, a Heritage Railway, which offers visitors the opportunity to take a trip in a 60’s train carriage and be transported from Dereham to Wymondham Abbey.
