The Northfield Hotel, Somerset

The property is set in two acres of peaceful, landscaped gardens which were reputed to have been laid out by famed horticulturalist Gertrude Jekyll. Its position on the slopes of Northhill means you can see from the Quantock Hills to Exmoor, with the rolling moors themselves just minutes away.

You can dine with your dog in the sun room of the main restaurant or in the bar where you can enjoy a traditional British menu. On sunny days, you should take full advantage of the beautiful outdoor terrace and enjoy lunch with a view with your four legged companion.

There are leisure facilities at the hotel including a gym, swimming pool and steam room with jacuzzi, all of which are available to hotel guests.

If you head inland to the rugged, yet poetically beautiful landscaped moors of Exmoor you have miles of rolling grassland peppered with rocky tors and welcoming villages including Dunster with its impressive dog friendly castle.
