The Old Swill House is set in a stunning, large courtyard of stone tiled buildings, and was originally used to store carts and harnesses, and feed for the farm pigs. It is on a working farm with cows and chickens, close to a 16th century manor house with a beautiful garden that is open to the public for the National Garden Scheme and by appointment. Foxham is a delightful village, with a friendly pub and a church, both situated a 10 minute walk away. There are footpaths up the Old Wilts/Berks Canal, across local farms and through woodland. Foxham has a designated dog field, so your canine companions can stretch their legs. There is a post office & village shop in Christian Malford less than 2 miles away and another welcoming pub. The market town of Chippenham with a fast train service to London and Bristol is 6 miles away. There is a wealth of things to do in the wider area, from the bustling cities of Bristol and Bath hosting an array of attractions. Close by is Bowood House and Gardens, with an adventure playground, making for an idyllic outing for all ages, Avebury and the Marlborough Downs, local museums such as the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its picturesque towns, Malmesbury, Tetbury and Cirencester.
