About this property

Resting just a short distance away from the breath-taking Pembrokeshire coastline is Trewrach Cottage, an exceptional 400-year-old cottage on the outskirts of Dinas Cross. With its excellent position, this holiday home is a rare find for families of all ages, beachcombers, avid ramblers and those alike to call home, as they explore the majestic beauty of South Wales. Savour your picturesque surroundings, where you are sure to catch a glimpse of kites, buzzards, kestrels and hawks flying over the neighbouring fields before heading inside the cosy cottage. Be welcomed into the sitting room, where the inglenook fireplace, complete with an ancient stone bread oven and woodburning stove take centre stage before the sumptuous seating arrangement and TV. After resting those post walk-soles on the sofa and relishing in the warmth of the fire, slip through the doors to find the well-equipped kitchen, boasting an array of quality appliances for the chef of the group to rustle up tasty home-cooked dishes. While eating and relaxing over a bottle of your favourite wine, watch the numerous birds eat just 2m from the kitchen door, where the badger visits and can be seen eating just a foot away most evenings. For a fun-filled evening, be sure to make the most of the games room, complete with a pool table, table football and table tennis or simply get lost within that book you have been meaning to read in front of the fire. Once the evening has drawn to a close, catch your rest within one of the two bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both served by a family bathroom with a shower over bath, basin and WC. The garden at Trewrach Cottage has been designed as an extension of the house itself, where you can spend sunny afternoons on the large patio area as something tasty sizzles on the barbecue and you enjoy the company of family and friends. Additionally, there is a large lawn area for your canine companions to explore, as well as a nearby woodland to meander for a change of scenery. A relaxing 10 minute, after dinner stroll through the woods along the river bank will take you to Aber Bach, a quite family beach, away from the crowds. Venture into the center of Dinas Cross where you'll find a handy petrol station and convenience store where you can pick up any forgotten essentials for your staycation, along with a traditional village pub, The Ship Aground, where you can indulge in a bite to eat in a welcoming atmosphere, cosying up around the homely log fire. Explore the picturesque delights of the nearby area and head to Dyffryn Fernant Garden, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through six acres of breath-taking varied landscape, including a bog garden and a fernery. The world renowned Ffald y Brenin Christian retreat is just a further 10 minutes’ drive. Head to the coast and spend the day at Pwllgwaelod Beach, a small cove decorated with a mixture of sand and shingle, enveloped by towering cliffs and boasting panoramic views across the stunning coastline. Ideal parking for a coastal walk around Dinas Island to the quaint village of Cwm yr Eglwys. Return to the Sailor Safety pub at Pellgwaelod for a well-deserved fresh lobster meal. Travel further afield to the nearby town of Fishguard, home to a selection of shops and eateries, as well as a host of sights and attractions worth visiting, including Fishguard Fort, dating back to the 18th century and the marine wildlife exhibitions on display at The Ocean Lab. For places of interest further afield and to save a day’s visit to the tourist information centre there are information leaflets of all the “places of interest” in North & South Pembrokeshire, together with location maps, which are numbered to correspond with the leaflets, making them so easy to find. Also, information on local walks and a folder with “dog friendly” restaurant & pub menus. For an unforgettable getaway to the stunning Pembrokeshire coast, choose Trewrach Cottage.
