Activities include deep sea fishing, river kayaking, sailing and walking.     Newhaven is a beautifully presented, dog friendly, bungalow with a terraced garden, and a large deck and is ideal for a family with young children, the twin bedroom is pirate themed and there are a wealth of novel garden ornaments including a lobster pot and "smugglers den," a child’s playhouse. The dining conservatory creates an al fresco ambience of dining under the stars but remains cosy with underfloor heating, and winter evenings will be toasty warm in the dual aspect kitchen/living room with the lovely slate fireplace surrounding the wood burner.
    Trebarwith Strand Beach is close by and at low tide a large expanse of golden sand is exposed, with plenty of rock pools and a number of caves, just be careful to always check the tide times. Tintagel is well worth a visit, cross the new suspension bridge to Tintagel Castle and Island where medieval fortifications combine a history of the dark ages with the legend of King Arthur to produce a wonderful day out with many different eateries and pubs to sample as a bonus. The coast path stretches along some of the most rugged cliffs in the southwest, where majestic promontories overlook secluded beaches with golden sands and crashing Atlantic surf. A quick drive will also take you to Boscastle, site of the infamous floods in 2004, or the traditional fishing village of Port Isaac where lovely narrow lanes lead to the charming harbour and beach that Port Isaac is so famous for.     There is a huge amount to do on the Lizard, from exploring the little fishing villages, Porthallow, Cadgwith or Coverack and sampling the local wealth of pubs and restaurants. Glorious clifftop walks, such as The Lizard itself, stunning sandy beaches like Coverack, Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove (which should be experienced), Poldhu or Loe Bar, which stretches from Gunwalloe all the way to Porthleven, tourist locations like Flambards, Poldark Mine or Goonhilly. The Helford River is beautiful and is surrounded by five little creeks, the most famous being Frenchman’s Creek, the eponymous title by Daphne Du Maurier based on the love affair between an impulsive English lady and a French pirate.
    There are some breath-taking coastal walks, which really should include a trip around the Lizard Lighthouse, Britain’s most southerly point, on a clear, windy day there cannot be many more dramatic places in the country, the Lizard point is famous for shipwrecks and from May to October the Cornish coast is carpeted with a variety of colourful wildflowers. At the heart of the Lizard stands a 13th-century church, famous for its ornate woodwork decorating the end of each pew and depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament. Kynance Cove is a tidal beach for the adventurous, famous for its white sand, turquoise sea and rock stacks. Poldhu Cove, also known as Black Pool Cove, is a lovely west-facing sandy beach suitable for lots of fun activities, from building sandcastles to beach volleyball and rocks to explore at low tide and great for swimming, surfing and windsurfing. The Camel Trail, a flat 18-mile trail that hugs the shoreline of the Camel estuary and travels inland to the delightful market town of Wadebridge, before leading on to Bodmin and the surrounding moors, is an absolute must. You can hire a bike and cycle the trail, in part or all 18 miles - a firm favourite with locals and tourists.

    Newquay, Polzeath, Mawgan Porth, Watergate Bay plus other hidden coves along this coastline provide some of the best surfing spots in the UK. The open plan living space has an elegant, yet homely feel. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the second bedroom also has an en-suite which is also accessed from the hallway.
    Situated just north of Bude with fabulous access to all of the glorious beaches including Northcott Mouth beach and Sandymouth a bit further to the north, both of which have glorious expanses of golden sand at low tide. Bude itself has a wealth of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and galleries, a great playground and interesting canal. Further north and you are over the border into Devon where Clovelly is well worth a visit. The property adjoins another house, although the garden and driveway shown in the photos is exclusive to Skyber Barnacott.
    The closest village to Skyber Barnacott is Kilkhampton which dates back to before Saxon times. There you can find the remains of a 12th century motte and bailey style Norman castle.
