Explore the fascinating villages of Port Isaac and Boscastle, both a short drive away, or venture to the golden sandy beaches of Polzeath or Port Gaverne for a day of exploration, surfing, and swimming. Bulls Cottage is within a short driving distance of many of Cornwall’s fabulous attractions. Visit the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House (NT) and Golf Course, the harbour villages of Padstow, Looe and Fowey, or surf the North Cornwall Coastal beaches. The area is popular with cyclists who will enjoy the Bodmin Beast Trial, a 12-mile off-road mountain bike trail at Cardinham woods. The villages of Rock and Polzeath are also well worth a visit, and further down the coast is Newquay with its fantastic beaches and surfing opportunities. An afternoon spent exploring Cardinham Woods or the family friendly Old Hill Bike Park are a must for cyclists while Bodmin Moor offers some fantastic walking routes. There are plenty of walks meandering through the Cornish countryside or with stunning views from the coastal footpath of glistening, sandy beaches or coves tucked in against dramatic cliffs ravaged by the Atlantic rollers. Withiel is situated 5 miles between the towns of Wadebridge and Bodmin; and 15 miles from Newquay and Padstow, as well as Polzeath on the North coast and Fowey on the South coast. Newquay is famous for its excellent surfing beaches. Port Isaac of “Doc Martin” fame is also about 15 miles away, and The Eden Project is only a short drive.
Wadebridge, once a market town, is now more widely known as being on The Camel Trail, the cycle route out to Padstow from the depths of Bodmin Moor on the old railway route. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. Beach 12 miles.

A short distance downhill, the world-famous Camel Trail can be reached where you can cycle towards Padstow or Wenfordbridge. Within 3 miles are Pencarrow House and Gardens or Haywoods Cider Farm; a little further Bodmin Jail Experience, Bodmin’s heritage steam railway and Lanhydrock. There are routes to the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and more besides. Scenic Tintagel, with its mysterious links to King Arthur and of course Port Isaac, are all within reach and offer walks, pubs, cafés and quirky cottages. To the south lies Fowey, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, featuring wonderful architecture, the famous Regatta and a popular Christmas Market. Traditional pubs are close by for Sunday lunches, afternoon tea or evening meals, which all come highly recommended.
St Breward’s Poldark country is perfect for hiking explorers. Other scenic walks include St Necturns Glenn’s Waterfall, with many other scenic walks along the rugged Cornish north coastal paths. Amongst the many beaches nearby include Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, offering a range of water sports. The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.

Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

Mews Cottage is a beautifully presented two-bedroom, semi-detached holiday home set in the heart of Tintagel on the Northern Cornish coast. It is an original Cornish stone and slate dwelling. Whilst being within a few seconds walk on a private walk way to the hustle and bustle of Tintagel Village, you can still enjoy the peaceful serenity that Mews Cottage offers being in a small secluded area from the village. Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church. Padstow has an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. You are close to the Camel Trail, where you can walk or cycle along a disused railway track by the Camel Estuary, taking in the bird life, to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Just a short drive away are the many sandy beaches of the north coast, including Watergate Bay, the home of extreme watersports. Visit the famous surfing beaches of Newquay, as well as a zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Horse riding and golf nearby. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

This historic, spacious, terraced, 500-year-old former church house sits peacefully beside the village green and war memorial, in front of the 12th-century Norman church of St Andrews. The house has been lovingly restored and retains many original features.
The large living room and dining area, with its 16th-century ceiling beams, are great for a family gathering, or a cosy night in beside the wood burner. There is a small part-covered, shady, internal courtyard room with a flagstone floor, fountain, window seat and small outdoor table and chairs.
All 4 double bedrooms have either cupboard or hanging rack space for clothes/storage. The second floor bedroom runs the length of the cottage and has huge, original 16th-century A-frame roof beams and three, heritage Velux-style windows. The cottage is just a few steps from the village post office, shop and an excellent hair salon. Just beyond that are the two village pubs, The Tree Inn and The Kings Arms.
Jalna is the perfect coastal holiday choice close to the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its glorious sandy beaches and breath-taking South West coastal path scenery. It is the ideal escape venue in which to spend time with friends and family.
Bude is incredibly popular all year round, with its castle heritage centre, a vibrant town centre and an array of restaurants and bars, together with two sandy beaches and the nearby coastal path. It retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. The food scene around Stratton and Bude has really taken off. There are regular food markets and artisan pop-ups in addition to the array of restaurants, bakeries and wine merchants.
The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is close by. Paddle boarding, surfing, golf, tennis, horse riding and fishing are all on offer in the area. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. The Splash leisure centre, with an indoor swimming pool and ten-pin bowling alley, is a short drive away.
Widemouth Bay is only 3 miles further down the coast and has a stunning beach. The picturesque fishing villages of Rock and Padstow are within easy driving distance, as is the mysterious Tintagel Castle of Arthurian legend. The wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are all easily reached, as is the famous Eden Project. For family fun, the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks are not to be missed.
