Seagull Cottage is a mid-terrace holiday home in a superb location with delightful sea views and just a stone’s throw from Portreath’s sandy beach and harbour. Portreath is a seaside village on the beautiful North Cornish coast. Set in a deep valley alongside the rugged, popular surfing beach which is watched over by the local Surf Life Saving Club, and is ideal for swimming and watersports.

There are spectacular coastal walks and amazing sunsets. Within a short flat walk to the heart of the village where you will find shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Ilogan Woods, adjacent to Portreath, with streams and a circular walk leading to the 14th-century church tower at Ilogan.

The Mineral Tramway Cycle Trail starts at Portreath and continues for 11 miles through the beautiful Cornish countryside to Devoran on the south coast. Cycles can be hired close by. Portreath is a perfect location for touring Cornwall, just 3 miles from the main A30 providing easy access to Penzance, St Ives, Lands End, Falmouth and The Lizard Peninsula. The cathedral city of Truro is just a short drive away with theatre, cinema, bowling and shops. Shop and restaurant 100 yards, pub 50 yards.

There are miles of coastal paths to explore and great road links ensuring guests can visit both the north and south coasts with ease. The area attracts walkers and cyclists with the Coast to Coast trail, which follows the path of an old tramway from Deveron on the south coast to Portreath on the north coast. Bike hire is available locally.
The family friendly beach at Portreath has a wide expanse of sand and a small harbour area. There are good local shops, a bakery, two pubs and choice of take away. Head slightly south to Gwithian and the famous lighthouse at Godrevy sits proudly on its rocky outcrop. The area attracts seals, dolphins, basking sharks and is a great spot for bird watchers, with the wide estuary at Hayle and marshes at nearby Marazion. Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth into St Ives, home of the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum. Here you will find a great choice of restaurants, bars, cafés and art galleries. The cottage is nestled on Glenfeadon Terrace, a short walk from the harbour, the local convenience store, and take away restaurants, and is a little gem of a property, immaculately presented having undergone a refurbishment during 2021, there is an open plan living, kitchen, and dining room with a cosy wood-burning stove to warm up those off-season evenings, there is a shower room with a large walk-in shower and a spacious bedroom with a kingsize bed. To the front of the property are a table and chairs and a private, off-road parking space.
Pepperpot Cottage is just a few minutes walk to the golden sands and fantastic surf beach at Portreath and a short drive to Porthtowan. A stroll along country lanes will take you to the coast path across beautiful countryside. The Coast-to-Coast cycle trail follows the route of an old mining tramway and takes you south to the beautiful creek at Devoran - bicycle hire is available just a few minutes away at The Bike Barn. A perfect base for touring the whole of Cornwall and being so accessible to the A30, the main arterial route through the county, means that many attractions such as St Michael’s Mount and the Eden Project are just a short drive away. In the evenings visit the many pubs and restaurants close by.
Portreath offers the pleasures of the sea and countryside with beautiful views, spectacular cliffs and walking trails. Illogan Woods is adjacent to Portreath with lovely streams and a circular walk leading to the 14th-century church tower of Illogan. There is also Tehidy Country Park just outside of Portreath with its adjoining golf course. It is a beautiful country park comprised of 250 acres of woodland, lakes, bridleways, cycling and nature trails. There is a picturesque lake with swans and various kinds of waterfowl.
Porthtowan has one of Cornwall’s finest surfing waves. Producing good waves at all states of the tide. It is not for the faint-hearted, and beginners should be careful. An excellent surf school operates from the beach. At low tide, the beach stretches down to St Agnes Head and Chapel Porth Beach. Beach ¼ miles.

Welcome to Barn Owl a converted four-bedroom barn sleeping eight, nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Carnkie near Redruth. This large property is ideal for extended families and friends who are looking for a base to explore this beautiful area. Upstairs are two double bedrooms with doors that lead out onto a conservatory, ideal for morning coffee or just enjoying peace and quiet. This looks over the enclosed garden, which is on two levels and all laid with chippings. On the ground floor is a large kitchen/dining room ideal for entertaining. Friends and family can sit around the table, which was originally a pasty making table. The living room is charming with a wood burner nestled into the feature granite fireplace, ideal on a cold winter’s evening where you can curl up with a hot drink and a good book, or watch one of your favourite programs on the large TV. There is a large lawned field in front of the parking area, with football goals ideal for a game, or just running around. The on-site laundry has two large washing machines and a microwave, shared between Barn Owl and and an additional one bedroomed cottage.
There is so much to do in the area including remnants of the copper mining industry that made Redruth one of the richest mining areas in Cornwall. If you go into Redruth town, just over two miles away, you will see the old clock tower, historic buildings and various statues celebrating the history of the area. The Great Flat Lode is within walking distance from the property and is ideal for walking and cycling. It follows part of the Basset Mine Tramway, which is approximately 6 miles long, where you will see some of the finest remains of engine houses and other structures as you wander around. The imposing Carn Brea rests at the top and if you climb up you will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views, including parts of South Croft Mine which was the last Cornish mine to close.
If you are looking for beaches, Portreath is the closest just over 5 miles away, or Porthowan beach just over 6 miles away. If you want to go a little further then a visit to the pretty village of St Agnes with its beach and coastal walks is under 10 miles away.

Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

Whilst being within a few seconds walk on a private walk way to the hustle and bustle of Tintagel Village, you can still enjoy the peaceful serenity that Mews Cottage offers being in a small secluded area from the village. Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church. Enjoying uninterrupted views of the award-winning Mawgan Porth beach, this fantastic beach house is surrounded by a third of an acre of beautifully kept gardens with a large, sea facing, sun trap decking area, overlooking gently sloping lawns and a pretty stream that trickles down to the sea below. Over the past year (2022), the house has been renovated to the highest standards by one of the country’s leading interior designers and offers plenty of living space all benefitting from exceptional sea views and floor to ceiling sliding doors leading to a large decking area. The large circular fireplace makes for cosy evenings during the Autumn and Winter months. The brand-new handmade kitchen is well supplied with all creature comforts from a juicer to a selection of coffee machines, including a Nespresso. A door leads into a separate TV room with a big corner sofa, both with fabulous sea views and door to the terrace. Three ground floor bedrooms, ome with chandelier, two with those stunning views. A beautiful glass and oak staircase leads from the entrance hall up to the first floor where you will find three more bedrooms; a double bedroom with en-suite shower room; a large twin bedroom with large en-suite shower room, and one with a TV and sofa bed which enjoys the best views of all.

The beach is just a 5-minute walk away from the garden gate. Off the drive, there is a lawned area and to the side of the house a heated outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The equipment store has a range of children’s wetsuits and storage for boards. Once cleaned off, you can luxuriate in the state-of-the-art Aspen and Spruce spa with a sauna, experiential shower plus cold water bucket for the brave. Situated mid-way between Padstow and Newquay, Mawgan Porth offers you a beautiful west facing beach, stunning scenery, wondrous walks, superb surfing, an amazing variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s taste and pocket, including a cosy pub, seafood restaurant, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance of Blue Seas. The Bunker is a beautifully converted World War II operations bunker, which now provides unique, comfortable holiday accommodation.
