This region is also very popular with nature lovers, bird watchers and cyclists all taking in the shoreline, woodlands and marshlands (where you will also find the RSPB Leighton Moss close by).

The Yorkshire Dales offers fantastic walking, waterfall trails, caving, the Three Peaks challenge and stimulating cycling routes, and is only a 30-minute drive. If shopping and history is more up your street, then just 15 minutes’ south you can be in the wonderful city of Lancaster, boasting a bustling high street and food markets every Wednesday and Saturday.
