They all offer independent shops and cafés, as well as high street names, plenty of restaurants and bars, and Buxton also has the opera house, where you can watch shows making for a good night out. There are also several National Trust Properties nearby and the Peak Wildlife Park is within 5 miles. If you are more of a thrill seeker, then Alton Towers is a mere 10-mile drive.
    Butterton sits high above the Manifold Valley. From the cottage, you can get straight onto this trail and walk for miles, connecting to other neighbouring trails. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the Peak District is within easy reach. Tissington Trail - popular with walkers and cyclists - is only 5 miles away. The local inn in Butterton is less than a quarter of a mile from the cottage and offers delicious food and ales.     As you drive through Butterton, to get to the cottage you pass through a ford, and from there you can see this inviting and welcoming cottage. There is ample parking outside and the stream runs by creating a relaxing atmosphere as you listen to the sounds of the water whilst enjoying the large garden this property offers. Inside the house is a kitchen with all the appliances and equipment you should need to make your favourite meal, a dining table that seats all guests, and the cute addition of a cushioned window bench; the dining room has patio doors opening it up to the garden, which has great views through fields to the distant hills.
