    Rhosneigr is a popular destination with wind and kite surfers, and there is a choice of broad sandy beaches and rock pools to explore. In the village there is a fine selection of cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as a golf course and tennis court. The village is steeped in history, including the nearby 12th-century Church in the Sea, tales of smugglers and famous offshore shipwrecks.
    The island of Anglesey has a 125-mile coastal path to explore, renowned seabird and wildlife populations including red squirrels. There are National Trust properties, gardens, the moated Castle in Beaumaris, the famous South Stack Light House, boat trips to Puffin Island or rib rides down the Menai Straits which run for most of the year. There are two ground floor bedrooms - one with large white bunks and a twin bedroom with navy and white decor. The ground floor bathroom has a mini bath ideal for children or used as a shower for adults. A curved stairway with illuminating step lights leads to the first-floor master en-suite bedroom. However these stairs are narrow and twisty and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. An elegant room with wash wood effect walls, kingsize bed and en-suite area with free standing bath.
    The Anglesey Coastal Path consists of a 128-mile circular path around the Isle of Anglesey. Walk the Coastal Path from Rhosneigr to Aberffraw - passing a Neolithic burial chamber, Ynys Mon Racing Track, the church in the sea at Langwyfan before arriving at the beautiful beach of Aberffraw.
    Visit one of the most popular attractions on Anglesey - Newborough forest, home to red squirrels. A well-signposted network of paths criss-cross the woodland which has the largest population of red squirrels on the island. This is a delightful two-bedroom cottage, which has recently been converted from a former farm building, offering a charming base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, an ideal holiday destination for walkers and ornithologists.
    Lapwing Cottage, which is single storey, combines character with modern comfort and has been well-equipped for all your holiday needs. The rustic charm has been maintained with high ceilings and exposed beams, along with a wood burner for cosy winter nights, whilst the kitchen and bathroom give a luxurious modern feel.
    With the benefit of dazzling sunrises and stunning sunsets coupled with uninterrupted views of Snowdonia, Lapwing Cottage offers a superb location and inspiration for photographer or artists.     Cerrig Cottages are an ideal ornithologists’ holiday location, with over 80 species of birds recorded on site by the wildlife-loving cottage owners including lapwing, curlew, golden plover, skylark, wheatear, stonechat, three species of owl, peregrine falcon, the charismatic chough and even a booming bittern. Stoats and lizards live in the garden walls, there are newts and dragonflies in the pond, and otters have recently been seen in Llyn Traffwll at the bottom of the paddock. As part of their wildlife recording, the cottage owners regularly undertake moth trapping sessions which guests are welcome to attend, rapidly becoming a favourite activity for the younger guests. New for 2021, cottage guests will have special access to the owners’ new 6.5 acre wildflower meadow, home to nesting skylarks and meadow pipits in the spring, followed by a myriad of butterflies and pollinators in the summer when the wildflowers are in full bloom.
    The public footpath opposite Cerrig Cottages takes you to the RSPB Valley Wetlands Reserve to the north, or a 40-minute ramble to the south brings you to the seaside town of Rhosneigr with its vast beach, famous for sea sports, as well as a variety of bars and cafés. For those preferring to drive, Rhosneigr beach is less than 15 minutes away. Fishing and golf nearby. Traeth Cymyran takes 10 minutes by car and Rhoscolyn, the location of Prince William’s favourite Anglesey pub, takes just 15 minutes. Beach 2½ miles, shop 1 mile, pub 2 miles and restaurant 1½ miles.
