107 Nunnery is delightful property located just moments from the heart of the historic city of York. Set over four floors you enter the property on the ground floor into the open plan living space. This is a great area to relax with its 2 comfy sofas, a wood burner and a smart TV with Netflix and Britbox. The kitchen area is well equipped for all your culinary needs along with a dining area complete with a table which seats six people. Down one flight of stairs you have a fantastic cinema/games room which boosts a 75 inch Smart TV along with an adult size table football, a great place to keep the children entertained.
On the second floor you have two bedrooms, one is the master bedroom with a king size bed and the other with a single. On the same floor you have a gorgeous bathroom which boasts a Japanese style deep soaking tub where you can sit back and relax after a day’s exploring, the bathroom also offers a shower cubicle and underfloor heating. Up another flight of stairs, you have an attic bedroom with a double bed which can be split into twins on request and an additional bed for a 6th person can also be set up for an extra charge. To the rear of the property, you have a lovely private courtyard area which is ideal to have a glass of fizz al fresco style in the warm summer months.
York is the one of the most visited cities outside of London and is popular throughout the whole year with numerous festivals and magical Christmas markets. In addition, 107 is situated just off ‘Bishy Road’ that recently beat 230 contenders to be crowned Britain’s Best High Street. You also have many attractions within walking distance from the property including the iconic minster, Railway Museum and Clifford’s Tower; admire the beautiful architecture at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, step back in time at the Jorvik Centre and the Castle Museum. Stroll along the cobbles down the world-famous Shambles or take one of the terrifying night-time ghost walks which are a must.

Forge Villa is a beautiful property situated in the village of Ebberston, on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. This area is very popular with cyclists as Dalby Forest can be accessed by the lane that runs to the north of the property. Dalby Forest in the past has hosted the World Cup mountain bike event, so there’s plenty of challenging runs for you to try. For those of you who enjoy a more leisurely trail, there’s miles of woodland paths for both bikers and walkers. The forest attracts international and UK visitors throughout the year, not just for the cycling, but for the many events that are held here, from concerts to educational nature visits for children.

The owner takes great pride in providing a beautiful holiday home, and Forge Villa has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. The gardens are beautifully kept, with areas for nature to thrive, plus a colourful, wild flower meadow. Chafer Wood backs onto the grounds so you have lots of woodland walks for the dog. Access to the driveway is via a electric gate for added security, however please note parking is at own risk and the owners take no responsibility for loss or damage. There is a pub opposite so perfect for a drink after a busy day exploring the area.

The village of Ebberston is a short drive from the east coast, with Scarborough, Filey and Whitby close by. The popular market towns that Yorkshire is famous for, such as Malton, Pickering and Helmsley, are all within a short driving distance. Pickering is the nearest town, just 10 minutes away, and is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Here you can take a wonderful ride on a steam train and travel across the Moors to Whitby. Stop off at Goathland, the fictional village of Aidensfield in the ever popular TV programme ’Heartbeat’. Pickering is also host to the very popular ’1940’s Wartime Weekend’, an event held every year that takes over the whole town and attracts visitors as far away as the USA. Stepping inside you are welcomed into the open plan living area, with an electric fire as well as comfortable seating beneath the beamed ceiling. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking a holiday feast. Upstairs you have two beautifully presented bedrooms, on the first floor is a double bedroom with views over the pantiled rooftops to the whale-bone archway up on the cliff tops. There is also the family bathroom. On the second floor is the family bedroom under the beamed ceiling with a double as well as a single bed and elevated views across the rooftops and out to sea. Outside as an additional quirky feature you have the original outhouse with a toilet, as well as a separate utility room.
You are only a 5-eminute walk away from the nearest beach, with a wide assortment of quirky independent shops, as well as cafés, restaurants and pubs all within easy reach and many being dog friendly. In the harbour there is the HMS Endeavour, a replica of Captain Cook’s ship which was built and sailed from Whitby on his voyages of discovery. Join a ghost walk, visit the museums, you can even see a shipwreck at low tide at Saltwick Bay or look up into the cliffs to spot the smugglers tunnels, the clues to the towns colourful past are all around you.
This is an ideal destination for dogs, they will be in heaven on the nearby beaches, there is even a dog bakery in Whitby. For walkers and those who love to take in the scenery you have many scenic coastal villages along the Cleveland Way to visit, as well as other popular walks such as the Cinder Track. Set over three floors, this is a well-presented property sure to welcome you on a truly memorable stay with ample hassle-free parking and just a 20-minute walk to Whitby over the majestic viaduct. On the ground floor you enter into the spacious and well-equipped kitchen adjoining the dining room. Where you can enjoy meals together.
Up on the first floor you have the living room, enjoying views out across the river from the glass double doors leading out onto the balcony. A blissful spot for taking in the beautiful surroundings, you can even watch the steam train passing by as it puffs its way into Whitby. On this floor you also have a single bedroom complete with a dressing table as well as a shower room. Up on the second floor there are another two bedrooms, a master king bedroom bathed in light from large Velux windows. The king bedroom has wardrobes for your belongings as well as a dressing table.
There is also a twin bedroom with beautiful river views. The property is completed with the bathroom, where you can relax beneath the bubbles whilst looking out of the Velux window up to the towering viaduct where the cinder track passes overhead.
The river is home to a variety of wildlife, where herons fish for salmon, seals sometimes bask on the bank, and the friendly resident ducks often wait on the doorstep hoping to be fed. In this peaceful location you can launch your own paddleboards or kayaks, taking in the scenery from the water. Or even bring your own fishing rod to go fishing.
For children there are two play areas as well as communal landscaped grounds to play on, with picnic benches where you can soak up the sunshine. For those walkers and cyclists amongst you, this property is the perfect place situated right next to the famous Cinder Track; the old railway line that runs over 20 miles between Scarborough and Whitby. After 80 years of service, the line closed in 1965, leaving a wonderful off-road route for cyclists and walkers.

Set in the hamlet of Starbotton in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this Grade II listed, end of terrace cottage dates back to 1663. As such, it has been sympathetically refurbished and makes a quiet retreat from busy everyday life. The nearby town of Grassington is 9 miles and in summer plays host to an incredible arts festival where you will find famous singers, presenters, poets and musicians. In winter there is a Dickensian festival, a magical event where the town is transported back in time with shopkeepers, villagers and visitors dressing in Victorian costume. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton with its Norman castle standing proudly at the head of it wide, sweeping, cobbled high street. Alternatively kick back in the local pub, 200 yards, which serves food and local ales. The nearby village of Kettlewell, approximately 2 miles away boasts three pubs, tea rooms, a village shop and various events during year including The Scarecrow Festival. Whitby is famous for its links to Dracula, and the Gothic abbey and graveyard tower 199 steps above the town. The climb is worth the effort just to take in the fantastic views of the town and out to sea. Many events and festivals take place all year round such as the Goth Weekender, Folk Week, Whitby Regatta, Steampunk festivals and many music events. There are plenty of traditional pubs to complement the wine bars, as well as many different bistros and restaurants to choose from, not forgetting award-winning fish and chips. There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sand complete with ice cream parlours and arcades to enjoy, and a long pier to walk down.

If you want to get off the beaten track there are many coves and bays dotted along the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast to explore. Hidden gems such as Runswick Bay and Boggle Hole along with the more famous such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are worth a visit. There are many local walks in the area including the Cleveland Way route, and the Cinder Track across the viaduct which heads down to Robin Hood’s Bay.

Head inland into the North York Moors National Park for stunning scenery and fabulous views. Local bus, car, bike or even a journey on a traditional steam train are other ways to get out and see what the area has to offer. The Victorian seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its two huge bays; North Bay for a quiet stroll watching the waves, or South Bay for amusement arcades, a fairground and a harbour. The Open Air Theatre plays host to many international artists throughout the summer months, and Peasholm Park hosts its Model Naval War on a regular basis. There are a number of golf courses, cycling tracks and country or beach walks in the local area. If history is your thing, there are many abbeys and historic places of interest throughout North Yorkshire including the Eden War Museum in Malton. The walled city of York is just an hour’s drive away.

The beautiful North York Moors are a delight to explore either on foot or by car, or alternatively, the steam railway runs along stunning scenery through many unspoilt villages including Goathland (Aidensfield in the television series ’Heartbeat’). The coast is easily accessible, 45 minutes away, and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are delights not to be missed. The quaint cobbled streets of Robin Hood’s Bay, once a favourite haunt with smugglers, will keep children and adults entertained for hours with its shoreline full of strange and colourful pebbles. Castle Howard is within easy driving distance, and Flamingo Land (a popular theme park and zoo) is well worth the visit. The market town of Helmsley is just 6 miles away and has shops and inns as well as pretty walled gardens.

Many National Trust and English Heritage properties can be found within a 15-mile radius, including Nunnington Hall, Byland Abbey and Duncomb Park, to name but a few. The ancient city of York is but a 45-minute drive. Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep. The cottage combine country living, yet is close enough to the coast to keep any visitor happy, whatever type of holiday they may be looking for. A small, private woodland site is shared amongst the other properties which are all located close to the River Ure in Wensleydale. The small market town of Masham is just 3 miles away with tea shops, a good choice of inns, excellent restaurants, shops, Theakston’s Brewery and a quaint cobbled square, which plays host to weekly markets and speciality markets including the annual Sheep Fair every September.

Lightwater Valley Theme Park, Forbidden Corner (a garden of surprises), the market town of Leyburn, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens, and Ripon with its dominating cathedral, are all within 10 miles. The elegant spa town of Harrogate is 20 miles, famous for Betty’s Tea Room, and the historic, walled city of York with its museums, is 35 miles.
