Cannondale has been fully refurbished in 2019 to provide a comfortable and stylish haven, four bedrooms with a super kingsize bed (two with zip and link option to be made up into twin bedrooms), all with their own en-suite. One of the bedrooms is found on the ground floor, the ideal option for the less mobile. The large living room offers a generous space and comfort, with a cosy wood burner, large TV and French doors leading out onto the enclosed garden and patio. There is also a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room with French doors also leading out into the garden. There is comfortable space for eight to live and dine together, whilst offering privacy and freedom for everybody in each bedroom.

Situated inbetween Windermere and Bowness, you are just a short walk from either, ideal for enjoying the local shops and eateries or to experience a trip out on Lake Windermere. The property is also ideally located within an easy drive or cycle to one of the many hundreds of walking routes or excursions that are enjoyed in the south Lakes and the Lake District on a daily basis. Barton Hall Farm can be found just outside Pooley Bridge, the village at the outfall of Lake Ullswater. Set in the countryside on a traditional working farm, this area offers some of the most wonderful landscapes in the region from the privacy of a secluded rural setting. It is minutes from Lake Ullswater, with its walking, water sports and ponderous steamers making their regal-like journeys up and down the lake in the shadow of the majestic fells. This area offers many forms of recreation, whatever season you choose to visit. All three cottages have been tastefully converted from original old stone farm buildings; and wherever possible the original features have been retained. Old pitch pine beams stretch unhindered through bedrooms and across stairways and the local slate and sandstone are in evidence throughout. Guests are welcomed with fresh flowers, along with well furnished comfortable holiday accommodation, wood-burning stoves and well-equipped kitchens. For good walking, fells nearby include High Street range, 1 mile, and Helvellyn, 10 miles. The market town of Penrith, 5 miles; whilst the attractions of Keswick are 14 miles. Holly Bank enjoys stunning views, looking out across the valley to the lake and mountains, stretching from Skiddaw, Sale Fell and Lords Seat to the Borrowdale peaks. This detached bungalow has an elevated position on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite village, in the vicinity of the osprey nesting site. It has been renovated and fully refurbished, providing fabulous facilities, panoramic views from most rooms. The living room has inviting leather sofas and there is dining furniture both in the conservatory and kitchen. The games room doubles as an office space with a desk and office chair - there’s even a sofa in here. The boot room is ideal for drying off your wet dogs and boots. The bathroom and en-suites have underfloor heating and shaver points for your convenience, and outside is an exercise area for your four legged friend.
The Sun Inn and Castle Inn Hotel are each within a five minute walk, both serving real ale and food. The vibrant market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth are 10 minutes’ drive away with a local bus service from the Castle Inn.

Grey Walls is an impressive and quite outstanding detached country house, standing in an elevated position within extensive grounds. Its superb Lakeland location, in the village of Patterdale, lies at the southern end of Ullswater. Architect designed, it incorporates fascinating features such as oriel windows with views to Striding Edge and Helvellyn, all set in dressed stone. Internally the accommodation has a unique character, with oak panelling and a 17th-century court cupboard. The house manages to incorporate cottage charm, with the majority of rooms taking advantage of the exquisite outlooks. The grounds are delightful; they are all south facing and include extensive terracing, with water features, fish pond and broad areas of lawn with rhododendron bushes. There are magnificent fell views in all directions. Kirkstone Pass rises up to the south of the village dropping down into Ambleside and Windermere, so the location is central to both the North and South Lakes, and therefore excellent for touring the National Park. Above the valley behind Patterdale is the famous Striding Edge, a knife edge ridge, leading onto Helvellyn and is popular among more serious walkers. For a less strenuous walk you will find Aira Force, a short drive north, which is the Lake District’s most famous waterfall. There are watersports available on the lake and the steamer is a beautiful way to enjoy the scenery.

This large, mid-terraced property in Bassenthwaite is ideal for a memorable Lake District escape, a family get together or special occasion and can easily accommodate multiple couples. With an excellent pub and restaurant across the road it makes a great choice for walking and cycling groups. This delightful cottage has comfortable furniture throughout and features four good sized bedrooms upstairs. The master has a double bed and a contemporary en-suite shower room. It has two double rooms, one with a kingsize bed, as well as a comfortable twin room. The modern bathroom suite has a large bath with views of Bassenthwaite lake, and a walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

The ground floor features an open plan living/dining room with a cosy open fire. There is also a snug, a great space to relax or read, and a lovely sun room which overlooks the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and has gardens to the rear with garden furniture and a brick barbecue for making the most of the sunny days. This pet friendly property has an outside utility room, ideal for storing boots, bikes and wet clothes for drying.

You can explore this stunning area on foot yet you are only a few miles from Keswick, Cockermouth and the surrounding Lakeland Fells. Well behaved dogs are welcome to come along and there are plenty of dog friendly pubs and restaurants in the area. The quiet village location means that you can escape your busy lifestyle and retreat to the countryside in no time. Whether you like walking, hiking or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure. There is good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra. You can walk to Bassenthwaite Lake in under 1 mile and also to Bassenthwaite village with an excellent village pub.

Just under a mile away is The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of wild animals. Visit The Lakes Distillery, producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka and offering tasting tours, always a hit. Just 7 miles away is the popular town of Keswick on the shores of Derwent Water, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences as well as a mix of cultural hotspots and tourist attractions. Visit The Theatre by the Lake offering award-winning arts and drama on the shores of Derwent Water and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place, fun for all age. Beach 16 miles. Day passes are available for all leisure facilities at The Castle Inn situated across the road from the property. These are available to buy from the Castle Inn, including swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym and tennis court.

Fourwinds is nestled away in a quiet cul-de-sac, just a 15-minute walk from Keswick town centre, and within touching distance of Latrigg Fell. This beautifully presented, detached home, with comfy sofas and sumptuous beds, offers the perfect place for a family holiday. This contemporary, light and airy, single-storey property has been thoughtfully decorated throughout, and has a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need. For those relaxing nights in, there is a wood burner in the living room offering a cosy atmosphere to return to after a day exploring the area. On an evening, the outside seating area is a great place to have a barbecue and enjoy some al fresco dining.
There is also a large lawned garden which is enclosed on three sides. Fourwinds is perfectly situated to explore the Lake District, and the market town of Keswick has an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafés, and you will also find plenty of walking opportunities nearby. Why not start your ascent on the infamous Cat Bells, with a gentle crossing of Derwentwater on one of the cruises from Keswick Launch, or entertain the family at some of the many attractions that will capture their imagination. Set 300 yards from the charming village of Staveley, these two lovely properties, Staveley Park (ref UK33713) and Staveley Park Studio (ref UK33716), are at the foot of the Kentmere Valley, between Kendal and Windermere. Both have been expertly renovated in 2021.

Staveley Park is a detached, Grade II listed property, set in its own grounds and offering spectacular views of the nearby woods, fells and countryside. Sleeping up to eight guests, it has four bedrooms. The second floor has a twin room with exposed beams and a contemporary en-suite shower room. On the first floor, the master bedroom features a four-poster super kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath and lovely garden views. Two further spacious bedrooms have kingsize beds and pleasant views to the grounds, whilst the main family bathroom offers a separate bath and walk-in shower. The ground floor features two spacious living rooms with windows providing great views and each has a lovely wood burner for those cosy evenings. The kitchen is well-equipped and comes with everything you need for a great holiday. There is also a handy utility area, fully equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside you’ll find an amazing, private garden and a terrace with garden furniture. You can enjoy the sunshine in the morning with a coffee or some al fresco dining with a glass of wine while enjoying the fresh air and views of the grounds. The garden is fully enclosed by a stone wall/hedges and there are three gates, all of them wooden farm gates, which can be kept shut. There are numerous easy and more strenuous walks possible from the front door.

Staveley is a lovely, working and historic village with a celebrated gastro-pub and the Hawkshead Brewery, with good food available in both as well as in the much-loved café and the fish and chip shop. There is a grocer, a butcher, an award-winning baker and pizzeria, an artisan ice cream maker, a coffee roaster, a cycle super-store, a garage, a railway station and more. Here the River Gowan flows through the village and meets the River Kent, which provides a peaceful backdrop to the main street. Staveley is located just 12 miles off the M6, 4.5 miles from Kendal and 3.5 miles to Windermere and the popular tourist magnet of Bowness-on Windermere, offering a wide range of restaurants and gastropubs serving every possible type of cuisine you could want, from takeaway food to fine dining. You’ll find there an abundance of bars and pubs offering locally produced ales, cocktails and guest craft beers. Here you can take the Windermere steamers to Lakeside at the Southern point of the Lake and Ambleside in the North. You’ll also find several popular tourist attractions including The Beatrix Potter Attraction, which is great fun, or Brockhole where older children can enjoy a treetop safari on the high ropes. In Kendal you’ll find more of the major high street brands and supermarkets. It is itself a lovely market town and excellent for a day of sightseeing and shopping. If you love the outdoors, you’ll find wonderful walks from your doorstep, and a short drive will open up the best the Lake District National Park has to offer with an abundance of picturesque mountain landscapes along with some of the most stunning scenery, arguably, anywhere in the country.
