Glendale Cottage (ref W43490) and Glendale Mews (ref W43489) are the ideal spot for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful natural surroundings. There is an indoor, heated swimming pool which guests can hire for private use (at cost), and also the use of over 11 acres of natural woodland and grounds that form part of this beautiful location. The owners live on-site in the original period farmhouse, accessed via a driveway lined with rhododendrons through a small dense wood. There is a small wooded picnic and play area with a log cabin function room and a large charcoal BBQ, as well as another wooded area accommodating hens and a natural pond. There is access to a public footpath from the properties.
Located on the southern edge of the Northumberland National Park and inside the International Dark Skies Park, Glendale is easily found on the B6318 just north of Haltwhistle.
Perfect for guests who enjoy walking, rambling or cycling, these properties are within walking distance of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, and are situated centrally between Walltown Craggs and Cawfield’s picnic area, two of the most picturesque views along the wall. It is said that Postman Pat’s ’Greendale’ is based on Wooler being the gateway to the Cheviots. Nearby there is the Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, here you can do a tour of the distillery and have a tasting session to try their selection of whiskeys. Wooler is on the edge of the National Park and is only 15 miles to Berwick on Tweed, with a beautiful beach and plenty of shops and history. All of the Scottish Borders are easily explored from here with Coldstream only 14 miles and Kelso a little further. Edinburgh is only 90 minutes away.

A very pleasant first floor apartment a 5-minute walk from the popular golden sands of Beadnell Bay. Delightful distant sea views from Castle view and good views towards Dunstanburgh Castle.
The property offers two spacious bedrooms, master a double with an additional single. The second bedroom perfect for the kids with a bunk bed (standard 3ft). The lounge is open plan with the kitchen which makes a great social room for the family to get together and play some good old board games whilst dinner is cooking! There’s a good size family bathroom with a bath and shower over. Externally the property does have fifteen steps that lead you to the front door and there is a pretty enclosed gravelled garden to the rear through a shared access, perfect to take advantage of on them hot summer evenings.
A gentle stroll from Castle View brings you to the golden sands of Beadnell Bay. This is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, including sailing, kite surfing, sea kayaking and scuba diving. Beadnell is renowned as a holiday destination and offers local facilities including a village shop and pub serving good food. Just 1 mile up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips, depart regularly from its harbour to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony. A further 2 miles up the coastline is the picture-perfect village of Bamburgh, famous for its majestic fortress and Grace Darling Museum. Holy Island, further up the coast, can be reached via the causeway and makes a great day out. Visit the historic town of Alnwick, 12 miles, and visit the castle as seen in the Harry Potter films. All on one level, with panoramic views over the countryside, guests will find Jasmine Cottage warm and welcoming. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area with dining table and 4 chairs, is light and spacious, and has windows looking out over the horses in the field opposite. Customers are welcome to bring their own dog to stay. It should be noted that the owners have their own pets on site (very friendly); a lovely golden retriever, two cats, and 4 horses and 4 sheep.

Situated in the owner’s grounds, yet quietly nestled away, this semi-detached bungalow is 4 miles from the popular village of Lanchester, 3 miles from Consett for supermarkets and pubs and just 11 miles away from the city of Durham. Hadrian’s Wall can be reached within an hour’s drive too and offers a more historic trail for walkers to take. The Derwent Valley Railway Path leads east towards the outskirts of Durham and is very popular with cyclists, whilst the Waskerley Way leads west and on into the vast open spaces of Weardale.
