Situated a stone’s throw from the Amble harbour; known locally as ’the friendliest port’, this delightful abode provides deceptively spacious holiday accommodation which has been designed and finished to a high standard. This holiday retreat is tastefully furnished throughout and oozes charm with beautiful, homely touches. Chatton is a picturesque village that has a shop and a pub which serves food. Slightly further afield is the friendly small town of Wooler (known locally as Glendale; the inspiration for ‘Postman Pat’s, Greendale’) only 5 miles inland. This is a popular destination for those who enjoy cycling, golf, horse riding and walking with the challenging St Cuthbert’s Way close by.

Bamburgh is renowned for its majestic fortress and beautiful expanse of golden, sandy beach and is only 11 miles east. The elegant Georgian town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which straddles the salmon rich River Tweed, and the cobbled, market town of Alnwick, protected by its dramatic castle, both offer a wide array of amenities around half an hour’s drive away. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction to see the Grand Cascade Waterfall and dine in the restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe! Ingram Cottage is a truly fantastic coastal retreat offering lovingly furnished accommodation, situated in the centre of Bamburgh.
Set over two floors, the first floor offers an open plan living/kitchen/dining area broken up with a turning staircase to the ground floor. Bamburgh is a stunningly attractive small village set on the Northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling. You can’t fail to be impressed by the sheer scale of the castle once you are up close and in the village itself. There is much to do in the village alongside the castle and its amazing history, there are impressive stretches of pure golden sandy beaches, many English tea rooms and restaurants, St. Aidan’s Church and a newly renovated museum dedicated to Grace Darling.
Why not hit the waves yourself with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous seabird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores.
