The East Lancashire Railway line, famous for its historic steam trains, runs through Rawtenstall, which is only 4 miles from Courtyard Cottage.
Entering the property from the allocated parking area you will find a modern open plan design on the ground floor level. With a cosy lounge allowing plenty of space for everyone! Benefitting from contemporary sofas, a TV and a small dining area. This really sets the scene for a cosy night in or a place to rest and plan your day’s activities. A well-equipped kitchen awaits you with plenty of storage and cooking facilities including an oven, hob and microwave. Wander through to find two bedrooms with storage facilities, and a bathroom which benefits from a bath with shower over, low level toilet and pedestal wash hand basin. Outside to the rear of the cottage you benefit from a spacious garden with outdoor furniture perfect for a bistro style breakfast in the sun! Foxstones Farm House dates back to the 1600s, originally being one large hall, now functioning as three properties. Formerly a dairy and beef farm, the property has been carefully looked after by the same family for around 90 years; the current owners being the third generation of the same family! A truly special and tranquil place, the owners are opening the doors to holidaymakers to continue to create more lasting memories for others to enjoy! Foxstones Farmhouse provides a comfortable, grand and unforgettable stay! The spacious master bedroom benefits from a king-size bed, leather couch & ample storage. Soak up the sun through the double windows and enjoy the peace of the countryside. The second bedroom has two single beds, with beams and mullion windows, with views of the countryside at the rear of the property. A further third bedroom overlooking the front garden has a single bed, chest of drawers, storage unit and bedroom chair.

Ideally located to visit the whole of the North West of England, with countryside, bustling cities and the seaside, all accessible within an hour. The village has a hairdresser, a shop, a petrol station, pubs and much more! Down the stone steps, you are greeted by a cosy but spacious front garden with a table and chairs, which is the perfect area for BBQs or a quiet breakfast while planning your day’s activities. Entering the property you will find a tiled porch and grand entrance hallway. To the right you will find a spacious living area containing everything you need for a relaxing break. There is a three-seat sofa, rocking chair and armchairs, TV and dining table.

Located in the rural hamlet of Moss Side on the outskirts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, this wonderful complex of six holiday cottages provide a perfect base for friends and family alike wanting a fabulous seaside getaway. Newly renovated in 2022 they’re set around a pretty courtyard and surrounded by superb countryside despite being just 3 miles from the coast.
There’s a variety of single and two-storey cottages all comfortably accommodating four guests, plus an additional three bedroom cottage that comes complete with hot tub. Careful thought and design has gone into each of the conversions making great use of original features where possible. Large windows have also been included to many of the open plan living arrangements to ensure a bright and airy space, and to really make the most of the countryside views.
The centre of ‘Leafy Lytham’ is less than 3 miles away, or a 4 minute train journey from Moss Side station which is around a 10 minute walk. Lytham is a lovely seaside town where you can enjoy everything from fish and chips to fine dining plus lots of coffee shops. It’s famed for its iconic ‘Windmill on the Green’, as well as the annual Lytham Festival and Lytham Proms. A direct train service will also take you to neighbouring St Annes in 10 minutes where you’ll find a huge beautiful sandy beach, and then in 20 minutes you’ll reach Blackpool. Blackpool is home to a massive amount of tourist attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the Sandcastle Water Park, SEA LIFE Blackpool and of course the annual illuminations light show.
For any golfers, there’s plenty of championship courses in the area and the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary are popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Swapping the coast once more for countryside, slightly further afield the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Lakes can be reached within an hour. Beach 5 miles. Boasting two wood burners and a south-facing courtyard complete with hot tub, it makes the most wonderful base for a coastal break no matter what time of year.
Perfect for low key gatherings and family breaks away you’ll find Blackpool Pleasure Beach, South Pier and the sub-tropical paradise of the Sandcastle Water Park all around a 10-minute walk. In the other direction, Central Pier, Madame Tussaud’s, Sea Life Blackpool and Blackpool Tower are all around a 30-minute walk, or alternatively you can pick up the famous tramway at South Pier and travel down the promenade in style. With an abundance of award-winning attractions, the vintage seaside town of Blackpool has something for everyone. There are donkey rides to white knuckle rides, and fish, chips and doughnuts to beachside independent dining.
If you fancy a change of scenery, you can follow the coast round to the beautiful sandy dunes of St Anne’s and wonderfully cosmopolitan ‘Leafy Lytham’. Here you’ll find stylish independent shops, colourful award-winning beach huts and rowing boats at Fairhaven Lake. For any golfers, there’s also no less than four championship golf courses! Blackpool’s tramway also travels to the charming seaside town of Thornton-Cleveleys which has a peaceful promenade flanked by cosy cafés. A little further still and it reaches Fleetwood right at the tip of the Fylde Coast, which for any shoppers is also home to the Affinity Outlet Lancashire. Highfield Cottage can be found in a desirable rural location in the Lancashire village of Hambleton, near Poulton-le-Fylde. Detached and surrounded by stunning gardens the property boasts both the main house plus a quaint separate annex across the courtyard.
The accommodation is perfect for those special group occasions with the main house itself incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished and with a selection of living and dining rooms. The farmhouse style kitchen is equipped to cook a storm, and there’s a study for anyone needing to catch up on emails. The pièce de resistance however is its own fabulous bar area complete with darts board and full size snooker table. The first floor contains four bedrooms of which two have their own dressing rooms and en-suite facilities, and in the family bathroom you’ll find a spa bath for that extra bit of added luxury. In Hambleton you’ll find a food serving pub, farm shop, grocery store and takeaway. A little further is the market town of Poulton-le-Fylde is where you’ll find plenty of shops and places to eat and drink together with a vibrant nightlife. The beautiful Fylde coast can be reached in around 15 minutes including Thornton Cleveleys with its old fashioned charm and promenade, Fleetwood with the Freeport Outlet Shopping Village and of course the razzle, dazzle, glitz and glamour of Blackpool. To name a few of the many Blackpool attractions you have the famous Tower and Ballroom, Blackpool Zoo, the Pleasure Beach, Coral Island, the Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussauds. Aside from being accessible for the coast, the location is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. The Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can all be reached around an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 16 miles away and Preston 18 miles. Rawtenstall is around a 15-minute drive and boasts cobbled streets, a thriving market and local independent businesses. It has one of the best dry ski slopes in England and is also the northern point of the heritage East Lancs Railway.
The mountain bike trails of Lee and Cragg Quarry can be picked up just outside Bacup, and the surrounding countryside including the nearby Rossendale Valley is popular with walkers and hikers.
