Situated just 5 yards from the River Sett and the Sett Valley Trail, in the charming High Peak village of Hayfield, this end-terrace holiday cottage is perfect throughout the summer months with its multi-tiered garden, or the winter months with its cosy wood burner. Home to plentiful pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants, Hayfield itself is overlooked by the Kinder Scout and is most famous for the backdrop from BBC’s drama ‘The Village’. Incredibly popular with walkers and cyclists, the village has a number of public thoroughfares with the beautiful Sett Valley Trail, Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path all easily accessible.

The surrounding area of the Peak District holds many beautiful towns and villages which are easily reached including the small picturesque village of Edale, home to the start/end of the UK’s first long distance walking path - The Pennine Way. Set in the stunning Hope Valley countryside, the rural hill village of Castleton, famous for its caverns, can be reached in half an hour and Bakewell, home to its namesake pudding and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, can be reached within 45 minutes’. Horse riding can also be found nearby, and for children, Hayfield Park is ¼ mile which consists of playground, zip line, skateboard ramps and a mini bike track. The nearest supermarket is 5 miles away and various supermarkets deliver. Village shop/ post office ¼ mile, pub ¼ mile on foot and restaurant ½ mile.

Noble names have woven the threads of the hall’s long history including Henry de Ferrers, the Cokaynes and the Harthills. Henry VIII is also believed to have stayed at the hall.

It was here in 1259 that Sir Richard de Hartle was issued a Papal Bull by Pope Alexander II, allowing him to appoint his own chaplain. The chapel ceased its functions as a place of worship in 1546 and now takes the form of The Chapel and Hartle Cottage. The eight cottages are furnished with antiques and surround a medieval cobbled courtyard. They all retain a wealth of original features including thick stone walls, large oak beams, mullion windows and flagstone floors. Derbyshire’s bustling market towns, villages, hills, dales and rivers offer majestic scenery, and a rich variety of customs. Boasting a varied and beautiful landscape, they offer a blend of heritage, history and family attractions.

The beautiful market town of Bakewell (3½ miles) is situated on the River Wye, crossed by a 13th-century five-arched bridge which has coffee shops and restaurants. Within easy reach are Matlock, Hall Leys Park, Chesterfield, Alfreton and Buxton. National Trust properties and gardens nearby include Riley Graves, Longshaw, Mam Tor, South Peak, Dovedale, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall. Close by are both Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. This holiday cottage is spacious, yet intimate, and commands beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the peaceful village of Sheldon, only 3 miles from the market town of Bakewell. The oldest part of the cottage dates from 1800 and has been converted skilfully into a living room with tasteful furnishings, original beams, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace with a multi-fuel burner. There is a large dining area adjacent to the living room and a kitchen which leads into a south-facing conservatory, ideal for breakfast and relaxing. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area. Upstairs has three large double bedrooms (two with en-suite showers) and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a 6ft zip and link bed which can be used as a double bed or two single beds. The cottage has Sky TV and wi-fi internet access. Only a few steps from the main cottage is a games room and studio apartment. The large, heated games room has a pool table and table tennis table as well as a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Above the games room is the studio with sitting room and a double bedroom with en-suite. The sitting room has a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and a TV. The cottage stands in an enclosed garden which has driveway parking for four vehicles, flower beds and two lawns. The larger lawn overlooks the nearby fields and hills, and is ideal for ball games. It adjoins a stone-flagged patio area with a built-in barbecue and outside table and chairs. Sheldon has a pub close to the cottage which is friendly and provides good food. The village is within easy reach of Bakewell and Ashford-on-the-Water, and is an excellent starting point for walking, exploring the countryside and visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, the caves around Castleton and many other attractions in the Peak District. The county town of Matlock, a former spa town, offers a host of fine eating places, good shops and an interesting museum, whilst at the heart of the town, Hall Leys Park provides a lovely setting for a host of recreational activities such as bowls, tennis and boating.
Enjoy a thrilling day at Gulliver’s Kingdom, with its owl maze, water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the magnificent Matlock Gorge. Follow the High Peak Cycle Trail, explore the lovely market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell pudding or visit the elegant Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall where it all started for the Cavendish family. There is certainly plenty to see and do at this wonderful location.

This delightful farm holiday cottage, dates back to the 1640s and adjoins the owner’s impressive home which stands in its own grounds and mature gardens. Featuring exposed beams and sloping ceilings, with pretty windows at floor level in the bedroom, enabling you to enjoy the pleasant views from your bed, the cottage is situated on the edge of the unspoilt Peak village of Monyash, just 4 miles from Bakewell, the delightful market town at the heart of the Peak District. Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

Take a stroll through the local nature reserve, visit Chesterfield town centre known for its iconic crooked spire, where you can enjoy shopping and cafés. The Peak District is home to Chatsworth House, a magnificent stately home with stunning gardens and beautiful art collections; it is a must visit for history and architecture enthusiast. There are many different walks to be enjoyed around the entirety of the Peak District. Through the fields alongside unused railway tracks and hilly trails, there’s plenty of countryside to see along the way whichever route you take. You can easily fill your time in Derbyshire with activities to suit all your party with the knowing of having Red Robin Cottage to return to at the end of the day to relax and unwind in comfort.

Situated in a beautiful quiet courtyard in the quaint village of Over Haddon you will find The Old Stables, a beautiful converted barn ideal for up to four guests. The former farm building was once owned by the Prime Minister Lord Melbourne, to whom Queen Victoria was very close to, and sits adjacent to the owner’s home, Manor Farm, a medieval Grade II listed manor house which dates back to 1553. The Old Stables is one of six dotted around this stunning courtyard setting and has been converted to a good standard throughout. The property offers exposed beams and is full of character, really giving this holiday home a unique feel. Stable doors welcome you into the open plan kitchen and living area, and upstairs there are two bedrooms and a super bathroom complete with a spa bath.
The Old Stables is located in the very heart of the wonderful Derbyshire Peak District National Park and benefits from an elevated position with views that can be enjoyed from the master bedroom stable door. Stunning panoramic views over the countryside and Peak District are just one of the fabulous features of this property.
Over Haddon itself is a lovely village offering visitors excellent walks, a local village pub, an award winning café, and let’s not forget the nearby spectacular limestone Lathkill Dale. It is an ideal position from which to enjoy many of the wonderful attractions Derbyshire has to offer including Bakewell, which can be reached in around 5 minutes, with its independent shops, tea shops, weekly farmers’ market, and of course the Bakewell pudding shop! Nearby is the exceptional Chatsworth House and Gardens, along with medieval manor house Haddon Hall.

Woodside View is in the picturesque village of Longnor which is in the heart of the Peak District.

Nearby is Buxton with its eventful Opera House, the Crescent Hotel which was recently opened boasting a 5-star spa and the pavilion Gardens, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within easy reach, along with numerous National Trust Properties, Parks and Gardens, and delightful historic market towns and villages.
